Ridge soaring is a great way to build up hours as a paraglider pilot, and it’s fun but it just got boring for me, going back and forth on the same ridge with nowhere to go, I think I have maybe 3 to 5 hours of ridge soaring and like 80+ thermal XC flying. Inland thermal flying is true freedom, and very challenging, keeps you 110% focused on getting up and fighting your way to the next thermal trigger. Before you know it you’ve been up 1.5 hours and have flown a 20 mile triangle and deciding what to do next, it’s incredible.
Hah hah...I took my ViperXC out to the coastal sand dunes last week for a soaring session (no motor). It actually worked okay! Clearly not true paraglider lift, but doable when the winds are up.
Watching this relaxing video while Tony from Above and Beyond plays another of his deep sets, providing the perfect soundtrack to your flight. Can't wait to do this IRL! Soon brutha!
Yooo love your work. Very informative for us newer pilots. I must ask, how do you mount your front mounted reserve? Thing looks locked in and neat. I use an apco front mount and clip it in to the swing arms and then run the chest strap through the loops on the back. Kinda stays floppy though.. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I feel the same way.

So dang fun!
Nice soaring! And the video is so crystal clear. What brand boots are those? The soles look to have loops on them.
QC shoes!
Viper XC actually paraglides pretty damn well even the slightly smaller sizes.
How well does it thermal tight cores?

Gin front mount is what I use and it attaches to the primary carabiners!
@ Awesome! Thanks for the feedback! 🤙🏻
Awesome Video man. Is this video taken on a insta360 x3?
Yes!
That looks so good. Could you please explain how you mount the insta360 selfie stick? I really like this angle
I join the question
I’m sitting on the selfie stick
@@TrevorSteele1 alright. Have been to nervous for that but I might add a safety line and try it out
