2. Human Resources (HR) Representative
HR representatives need to have finesse with people and interact effectively with a broad range of individuals and groups. They must be able to analyze work roles and assess the suitability of candidates for jobs. Interviewing skills learned by sociology majors are essential for this evaluation.
3. Lawyer
Lawyers draw on research and writing skills to carry out their work. They must gather facts and evidence to support a thesis, just as sociology majors do with their position papers. Lawyers must present their findings in a compelling manner in order to convince a judge, jury or opposing attorney of their position. This is similar to presentations in sociology classes.

I have done Masters in Sociology followed by Masters in Social Work(HR), I worked in development/ Social sector for 9+ years... I have a Sociology B.A from Lehman College (1994). Sociology is useful in terms of employment AFTER graduate school. A four-year degree in this field is good enough for an entry-level position but that's about it.
I work as a security guard with two CUNY degrees and a third degree in Religious Education. College is overrated big time. I wasted my time, youth and money attending CUNY from 1986 through 1994.
Sociology did nothing for me. Basically, a college degree means to start and complete academic training. The degree itself DOES NOT impress an employer nor does it guarantee employment. My sociology degree has been collecting dust in the closet since 1994, honestly.

1. Nothing of value comes easily.
2. No such thing as an easy road to success.
3. Sociology is a decent field of study if and only if you plan to go beyond the undergraduate school level.
4. An undergraduate degree in socioolgy leads to entry-level jobs.
5. Earning an undergraduate degree in sociology does not mean you are a sociologist. To be a sociologist a doctorate degree is needed.
