Hi new sub here...I've caught a couple of your videos about the 8550 and like this one I found them very informative. Thank you for that.
However, it seems this machine hasn't given you any issues commonly found in varies other DTF conversions so you confused me on not recommending it. 😕
I purchased one not long ago and thru my research using a reliable CISS kit with Dampers is rather common on converted machines along side the recommended maintenance guides you already give to your viewers. That's the road I'm taking, no turning back now

EPSON ET8550 on sublimation and DTF are same kind of ink as the other one sublimation link and DTF ink ? It’s a great idea to convert save my money to get very expensive dtf
Buy a 7/64" hose and it won't leak. I use a clamp but it's not needed. My maintenance box doesn't get any ink in it.
What if I don’t have a external tank i just empty it and reset it?

Why do you need an external waste tank? Can you just empty into the waste tank and empty that out when you need to reset it?
What did you mean when you said don’t get this printer if you want to do transfers? Don’t you do transfers direct to film? To do your shirts and other items? Yes I’m starting to get into this DTF thing so I’m definitely a noob
In the beginning of your video you showed the before you left print… the streak with missing ink…
Does this happen often with the 8550? I’ve noticed in some of your earlier videos that there’s streaks as well. I’m thinking of converting my printer to dtf but don’t want to if it’s going to put out bad prints constantly. Thank you for your videos!!!

Hi! I just got the 8550 printer. And converted it into a DTF but I can't get it to print the white. Please Help
Does the ink layout matter because I can't get the black to print its printing like a blueish grey color in place of the black, but my ink layout is b,w,c,y,m,w and I'm using acrorip 10.5
I'm thinking about getting this printer. In your experience is it not a good idea to get this if you don't use it daily?
definitely not a good idea if you don't have time to print or do print head cleanings and other maintenance daily.

it takes a long time to print. Industrial/Commercial printers work best for transfers.

Hi, I love your videos. I have a question. I have the ET 15000 and the 8550. I chose the 8550 because the ET 15000 kept reading that “special code”. My question is can you do the power cleaning every 12 hours since we can’t shake the cartridges… I print daily but I want to make sure the white stays active

Hi Sonya! I'm not sure what you've tried yet. I only put a strip of painter's tape across the top of the film. That usually does the trip for me.

Yes, you need to shake and do a print head cleaning daily.

Yes. The ink clogs. You will need to do daily maintenance.

could you print some print then power clean it. and leave it alone for a week or so and then use it again?
not without additional maintenance before printing again.

What maintenance routine did you do prior to leaving
I printed a sheet on live the night before I left. That's it and that's not really maintenance. For the past 3 months, all I've been doing it running power cleans if something doesn't look right and that fixes the problem. I print almost every day. I occasionally shake the desk that the printer is on.
You said you don't recommend this printer for selling transfers, can you explain why?
