    This is the one video that showed & explained step by step how to do it myself rather than "go buy another one" thank you for your patients & sharing your knowledge, as a newbie to wood working you are one of the few that I garner great knowledge of the trade from thank you for all you do & keep up the great content. Thank you

    Feel like a right idiot. My planer blades were damaged and thought to throw it out and buy another as I couldn't find how to repair. Years later and still not throwing it out, you spoke of double sided blades. I've just checked after struggling to plane the bottom of a door, and I've just found 2 new blade edges tucked away in the head! Just going to grab my tool box to turn them around! Thankyou ever so much! Small things like this BIG realization cheers me up no end! THANK YOU!!!!

      It would be great if we could turn all the blades in all woodworking tools, like in planer knives 😁

    Sergio. Great tutorial. I have exactly same system on my planer and had tried to change the knifes but ran into problems but after watching your video i can now change. Many thanks.

    Excellent. Clear and simple explanation for planes with this type of holder. If you only turn out the middle bolt it makes leveling the blades easier as there is only one part to loosen if needed. Then verify the height after securing everything.
    Good work though.

    Bravo. It's getting harder every day to find good instructional videos. Yours is great! Thank you.
    I have a Porter Cable. Exactly the same type of blade and adjustment. I've spent an hour on Porter Cable's site looking for instruction (starting with the manual). They don't even mention an Allen wrench in their. instructions! (This is typical for PC instructions) You went through step by step on how to replace and then adjust the blades, going back and forth between Allen wrench and open end.
    Thanks again.

    Thanks a lot. The blades on mine would not pop out easily. Had to tap them out gently with a hammer using a small block of wood in between the hammer and blade to protect the blade. After that no problem. Didn't adjust the screws though - left it at the same height.

  • @colindowson1737
    @colindowson1737 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    It is possible to change blades without removing the blade carrier so there should be no need to touch the blade height adjusting screws. I just slackened off the three pinch bolts and tap out the old blade.

    • @jaydenmonkley8767
      @jaydenmonkley8767 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's correct. The blades can be changed without removing the carrier, I think he was just demonstrating how to clean underneath it if need be.
