Flow is everything. So many dwellings are set up without considering how people will MOVE in them. With the changes, you reestablished unimpeded flow. Well done.
hi Daniel, i had the jättebo sofa but i didn’t find it very comfortable, now I changed to kivik, i think the difference is kivik has cold foam and jättebo is bouncy with spring. what do you think about the jättebo sofa?
What happened to the kids room redesign?
@@JunoonRockedyes, i missed the kids room as well. I was so looking forward to it!
Very impressed with your thoughtful design. Clutter is the enemy to a serene life. But it’s impossible to manage without at least some stuff in life . 🧥 👢 📖 🎻🧺📿🧸🪮📻🎥
Great job. Just removing the clutter alone felt very freeing. Great design!
His delivery is doing great. Wonderful apartment redesign. The next step is to take a breath and know we are on his side. Why else are we here. Eyebrows relax, British accent reduced, the approval asking lilt only occasionally. Tell us. No need to ask us. You have our ear and implicit approval of your talent and ability. Yur frpal G to solve abilities.
Ithink weare all ready for it. No one is actually doing this. Professor Emeritus
My stress level is going up just looking at all the clutter. Cut the kids toys by 80% or more. Less to corral. Great redesign!
I love how 80m2 is considered TINY in New York, while in London the average two-bed is 61m2...
Same in the area of Paris. It always makes me smile when something barely smalker than my current flat (90m2, 4 bedrooms, 6 people living there comfortably) is described as ”tiny” - but depending on the amount of stuff ones has or the style of one’s furniture, it can indeed feel too small.
Germany here, it's why I clicked on the video. That is a nice big flat from a European viewpoint. They could improve it drastically by decluttering and tidying it. Then just move the existing furniture and they have a spacious flat at no cost at all.
Eastern Europe here: 80 sqm is considered spacious familiy home.
In the UAE 80 square meters is a large 1 bedroom apartment.
lol I've been living in 20m² for the past two years in Amsterdam 💀 - been paying 1.000€ of rent per month for this
DANIELLLLL! You back! its like christmas!
OMG....This is incredible!! I wish I wish you could redesign my 2100SQ home where I live and care for my 89-year-old parents. I dream of one day having a Wabi Sabi interior that is serene and beautiful with clean lines throughout. You are a master designer!
I belive he takes requests if you submit a proposal and he picks it
I'd love to see this! Submit a request 😊
Lmao I read this at first like you were wishing he would both redesign your home and care for your parents 😂
@@visiblehuman3705 that’s hilarious!!!😂😂
@@visiblehuman3705 😂😂😂😂
I love how sensitive you were to the budget and constraints of the viewer. It was an incredibly challenging design task you took on with the space, needs, existing finishes, and budget constraints. This is a fantastic transformation for a theoretical budget of $6,500!
Theoretical budget always must be multiplied at least on 2 if you are lucky, otherwise on 3😂
@@ChrisstinaMorgan Materials cost breakdown provided. Box stores usually maintain their relative prices in different states.
I love the small apartment makeovers! It's more challenging to design than a larger space and many designs require custom furniture. But yours is completely doable for everyone and I love that!
Great job on the redesign. Multi purpose furniture is the best. The kids need less toys.
Even animated renders now! Amazing work, Daniel! This just adds to the feeling of exploring the space
Each video continues to deliver increasingly higher-quality content. Simply amazing! I should resubmit a request to redesign my tiny office.
I Love these videos. They’ve made me decide to stop searching for a bigger place I can’t afford. Instead I’ll save up some money and renovate my existing space to be more efficient in its use.
I’m super excited about it! Even if the eventual need to temporarily move out with six cats will be daunting. 😂
This! It still amazes me why people dream of large homes, unless they have a large family. Think about the cleaning too haha
@@dextersulit8624 100% why I told my mom I do NOT want to move into my brothers 3 bedroom plus den apartment. I’m one person. I do NOT want to clean all that daily!
Amazing desing! I was really pleased that my solution for having a very large table with a bench is architect approved 😄The table gives so much more workspace even when taking more squarefootage on the floor. I agree that removing the clutter is the key that can even bring in a bit more money to the budget.
Great job! The storage solution alone is great especially with two young children. So fresh and open!
Fantastic as usual. I would prefer (as a flat owner) a bit smaller dining table for 6 and a separate TV cabinet in different color, to avoid the whole living area feel like a huge extended kitchen. Also with such a small space I would rather pick white furniture and light kitchen color.
Just want to say I love your videos and get super excited when a new one pops up. I'm planning a remodel of my house and you've literally flipped the script on what I thought was possible. Thank you 🙏🏻 ☺
Same. I literally said YAYY!!, while clapping my hands when I saw the new video.
Loved the dining table concept and the rearranging of the master bed. Too good !!
I appreciate the fact that you thought through nuances like sound dampening and seeing the kids from the living room. That was very well done and intentional!
This is rad. You are rad. Yes to rad.
I really like the design choices you've suggested for this apartment! Do you ever do a follow up to see what the spaces look like after you present the design to your clients? Was there any consideration given to making any changes in the children's bedroom or were the clients happy with the function of that space? I"m definitely going to search for more of your videos!
I agree, I would like to see a video addressing how design aspects have been used. I think it would be interesting to see the improvements made by the redesign and also where there may be further improvements to be made. Such as this design, I think that top opening boxes would be more accessible next to the dining table.
wake up babe daniel titcheners latest banger just dropped
As a UI/UX designer living in a 1 bedroom condo I found this episode really interesting. Since I went to design school but in a different discipline, you still manage to surprise me with solutions I wouldn't have thought about. Great channel!
Great job all around! One thing that struck me was, that the kids have too much stuff. Seems very american to me. You can live happily as a kid with less than half of that plastic crap. Peak consumerism. Still: not your job as an architect to discuss this with your client. More of a Marie Kondo-thing. Cheers!
Well done indeed. Lovely to see a designer who pays attention to the needs and tastes of the clients. They ended up with a home that workd. Mind you, at the start i was thinking "Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream Home".
Wow! You've done an incredible job with a space that seemingly had it's limitations. This is what I love about good design; it not only solves the problem on a practical level, but also a pyschology one. This design seeks to alleviate stress around clutter (hello parenthood!) and trying to maintain a clean, efficient environment also.Love that you've not only designed the space, but were sensitive around budgeting as well as pointing the couple in the direction of how to DIY the storage area themselves. Only thing missing from this video...an update from the couple to see if they enacted the ideas. Hope you can get an update from them, otherwise an absolutely beatiful job!
One of your best projects! Love your channel!
Decluttering will help!
Totally agree, a good tidy up and declutter would have made a world of difference in the first place.
I stumbled upon your channel by accident and boy was I glad! I am currently designing my 550 Sq ft studio apartment in Dubai from scratch and your channel has really taught me a lot. Thank you so much for sharing your brilliant ideas. One day when my wife and I buy our forever home, I will reach out to you for a paid project 😊
love the ideas here esp with the bench running from the dining straight to the living area
This is the best TH-cam video I have watched in 2023. It's just perfect.
This is soooo good! This is exactly our problem with our tiny flat in London. What I found amazing was that just by shifting some of the furniture in the bedroom, you could completely change the quality of their wfh life! I wish we saw what you did for toy storage though in the kids' room (definitely need some tips for that).
Quality rather than quantity re your uploads. Well done, Dan!
There is not a single video you upload that I don't watch and adore. It is incredibly difficult to find a TH-camr with such high quality content and I'm sure it's really difficult for you to maintain such high quality! So thank you!
Where I'm from (Argentina) most middle class families of 2 adults + 2 children (sometimes more children) live in a house/apartment just a bit smaller than this. It works wonders, but the layout is much simpler since it's a square shape. The new layout with the workspaces is so good! The only thing that was missing was kid's toys everywhere haha
Good job and vlog! The family needs to donate or something as the toys are overwhelming. If they want miracles, they must invest in ideas and excitation too.
My in laws lived and raised their 4 kids in 48m2 flat, with a 15m2 livingroom, 2 bedrooms (10m2 and 6m2), kitchen 6m2 where my father in law also worked as a tailor (had a sewing machine there). They even hosted parties for 20 people 🤯
Therefore 80m2 for 2+2 family is really a lot of space.
This was one of your best redesigns so far Daniel! I really love your work with this apartment and I'm looking forward to your next videos.
Please also stick to the video animation of the final design - this helps so much to get a real feeling of the living room and the actual size of the elements!
Wow insane work! This Looks like a completly different Appartement. Like the Family Moved out and someone completely different Took Over without all the problems
These make me desperately want to see the people actually do the makeover. You could easily have a tv format like this. Great video.
how to make your space seem bigger Step 1 Get rid of all your crap lol. JK love your channel Daniel . Thanks for posting!
I would definitely go with spending the 6,000. The design was absolutely gorgeous.
I’ll be buying my own place next year and I’m hungry for more such contents as it’s gonna help me plan and budget not just quality but purposefulness of the things I need at home. Thank you!
Amazing work. That’s why every home needs an architect!
Genius - All the things you had to consider were mind-blowing. I would have been a nervous wreck managing this project. Your calm demeanor must be invaluable to your clients.
Absolutely genius!! Fantastic reconfiguration. Sometimes we tend to think that we need "more" space when what we truly need to do is make the space we have work for us.
Small apartments are definitely always a challenge especially for growing families. Can't believe the owners had the room door opening directly into their bedhead. It's basic fengshui no-no.
What a transformation! It would be great if your clients would be willing to show the design installed.
Unless explicitly forbidden by the clients, those dark furniture pieces should have been updated with white or lite warm gray cabinets and splashes of accent color here and there. I would also add a custom table top to the desks in the bedroom, spanning from one table over the the drawers in the middle and to the other table, giving the clients plenty of surface area for books, plants, accessories etc and giving a more cohesive look.
The hardest thing here was to reorganise the living area and you managed that pretty well, as ususal. Can't waint for future vids. Cheers! 😊
This is quite impressive especially as no demolitions were carried out.
oh sure, make it look easy. Clutter is the enemy of all contemporary design. Any redesign goal is going to make that disappear. Whether is actually succeeds only time will tell. This is a brilliant start.
OH MY GOD I FOUND AN AWESOME CHANNEL THAT I CAN BINGE!! SOOOO SATISFYING TO WATCH!! THANK YOUUUUUUUUUUUU 😍😍😍
you are so smart because everytime i see the videos i feel hopeless but you make it look so easy and doable
Just WOW, really I mean WOW. Amazing conceptual work.
A. remarkable transformation, Daniel. I think you may have saved their marriage!! Thank goodness for IKEA and Cozey who understand how we are living these days in big cities.
I love how you didn't advise them to get rid of everything or change their lifestyle. The storage bench, and cupboards are really great.
I have just subbed. Your videos are amazing. Someday I'll send you my in law's house layout. It is sooo weird (in a wrong way). Huge radiators, oddly placed heating tubes and soo much more. Greetings from Hungary!
You Daniel are amazing in the sense that you deliver the high end archetectural and design (Mega $$$) on a budget for the masses; not to metion excellent story telling, video and audio (excellent voice and spoken words, you sound on point but also so natural, what a talent). Obviously, you're a high caliber artist and really excel at all that you do. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING!
I really love this series Daniel, no seriously, this might actually inspire me to become an interior designer one day PLEASER PLEASE keep up this series as not only arey ou helping others, but you are entertaining an audience as well :D
I wish the family all the best. It is brave to expose your life like that! I love what ther flat has become and hope they do too.
this is much better reflection of what u are awesome at… your cameo on Dami Lee’s video was also great… more of your design genius please!
I haven't watched you in a while. You've levelled up beyond measure. You're helping so many people with this type of videos. Kudos!
Amazing work. Loved the rationale and thought process
It’s amazing change .. I am living in Vienna .. and I want to renovate my small apartment.. I am so so inspiriert by your genius work .. thank you for being such an inspiration
Great job, a lovely practical asthetic on a cheap budget (taking into consideration family
/work life. Love your work.
This man knows what he’s doing..👌🏼
what a great job. an easy life is all about right concepts
From planning to execution, all beautiful. 🥰
Daniel - you amaze me with your outside the box solutions. This renovation design is affordable, adaptable, tasteful, flexible ... and works well. Superb design!
Brilliant ideas! There is one small issue though, the parents' bed only has one night stand so one of the occupants has neither a place to put their thing nor a reading light. I would suggest a bed like the Ikea Brimnes bed that has hidden storage in its headboard. The headboard also acts a shelf upon which one could place 2 reading lamps allowing more symmetry. This bed also has big drawers underneath it for storage.
And maybe replace the bathroom door with a sliding one? (However, this could lead to a noise issue if someone uses it during the night).
Truly wonderful work under tight constraints. Bravo Daniel!
I'm 5 minutes in and I just had to pause and say that I love how you think through these designs. Amazing job as always Daniel!
Daniel, this is great. It’s a very conscientious redesign that accounts for the people who actually live there versus the aesthetics (as usual for you!). The space planning is great and I hope this works for these folks. Small spaces are tough…..one of the reasons I think our housing in the US just seems to get bigger and bigger.
Soooo much effort and detail has gone in to making this video. The explanations, the price list, the renders - you offer a full story with your videos and the rationale behind your decisions which not only entertains but educates at the same time. I always come away inspired. Thank you!
My dude, this is freaking epic. What an amazing plan for transformation.
Would never thought this will cost only 3k-6k ! Amazing
that bedroom doubled in size and functionality!!
Love this version of the kitchen.
What an amazing transformation! It looks much bigger and of course much clearer. I'm sure that the family will love it and they should get about another 10 years there before having to move.
Stunning remodel as always! I’m digging the editing upgrades as well 😉
Daniel you're a genius!
The TV does seem a little off in the new arrangement but I think that actually works to help encourage more family human contact time vs screen time.
Then again the dining chairs can be moved or even some small bean bags hidden away in the bench storage, as seating that faces the TV more
Absolutely blown away by how clever and thoughtful you are, pure genius.
Very smart and functional yet affordable way to change their lives!
I grew up in 750 sq ft apartment in a family of 4. So did most of the people I know. This whole thing today that you NEED 2500 sq.ft or you won't be comfortable is ridiculous.
would have been nice to see some design for the kids room too. great ideas
you're the best architect. can't wait to see when the project is done.
Decluttering starts with your mind!
Whoa. Now this is the true definition of designing for usability and aesthetics combined. Brilliant work!
Wasn't an option to move the kids bedroom door to the left? Like that you'd have a full living area by the windows where you could accommodate a medium size sectional and hang the tv in front of it and not sideways like it is in the proposed solution. The seating bench storage would be shorter but you'd compensate with a decent size TV stand and/or storage above/around it.
I absolutely love your channel by the way 👏👏👏👏
Nice design. For me. I would move the additional bedroom door closer dining table. so the living room tv won't be in an awkward position.
Too bad I didn't have you designing my space when my children were younger - not only is this functional it looks good.
Daniel, you have created really amazing space! Bravoooo!👏👏👏
Love the new lightning setup
I just wanna say that I appreciate your video editting and thought process when it come to your videos, truly genius stuff, Danny boy! I learn so much from you, truly truly inspiring bro, thank you!
These videos are getting out of hand and I think I am getting addicted to them!
The work you share is really helpful for people who live in dense cities!
Practical, achievable, and within a budget that would be an this actual house owner budget. Very well done.
Btw, having a house that big in NYC... pfew. Nice.
Best one yet for me, don't think there's a thing I'd do different
Yes! Like you did this for us. Living in Amsterdam 50m2 with 3 kids. Thank you soo much! 🎉
Putting in sensible storage is key , I would think. However , if the occupants arent as tidy as others, then it doesnt matter what storage you put in , they still wont clean it up .
Love the design, great work! Just wondering how long it would take for the family to mess it up and sent the living environment back to the chaos.
You are a wizard with an outstanding eye!. Very satisfying to view. Thanks
