My father had one in silver. Very, very good car. Automatic acceleration on kickdown was quick. Ahead of its time. Change oil regularly. Great design. Very reliable. This is a wonderful example.
@@richardprice7763 i totally agree. It feels very big and special. it is more spacious inside than the modern airbag carriers. But on the outside an SD1 does look tiny in comparison to moderne day cars. An SD1 next to a e class looks like a Mazda 323 next to a Ford Scorpio.
Just another one of those British cars that should have had the mechanicals of a Japanese car.Great looking car.Shame the English were more interested in longer tea/ lunch breaks instead of looking after their motoring and thus their own financial futures.
As a former SD1 V8 owner, I’m just amazed the doors unlocked. Aside from that, it’s the idle not the revved engine that delights.

...very reliable? A Rover 3500? Are you kidding?
Hunk of Junk.
Nice car! I have had 3 of those 3500 SD 1:s in the 80:s and 90:s. And I have one now! And that car is gona stay with me for ever!
No issues with it/them?
Absolutely gleaming under the garage lights. What a beauty!
Love these. My dad owned 2 in the 90’s
What a cool car, with a monster roar
Wonderful car!
I had a VDP V8 back in '93 and remember it feeling hugely wide. Not so big now among modern cars...

Beautiful car
I had one. Very often it wouldn't start in wet weather.
I had one of these in white. I wish I still had it.
Christ, that's a bad ass looking car.
Dio mio....nice sound.

My dad had an early 3500 auto, was very reliable but the body was rusting badly
Not VdP EFI ?
No it is not. Normal 3500 carb
design was zijn tijd ver vooruit. kijk maar naar audi .hebben design gekopieerd van rover
Should NOT immediately rev an engine like that after start.
If you listen carefully, you can hear it is not revved that high. Only about 2000 rpm. Sound is loud because of the garage.
