Thanks! Yeah that’s kinda what I was going for. :) Only one’s I couldn’t really do are my Inferno and Grapple molds, tried but couldn’t get it to lay flat.
If this isn't a coincidence, I don't know what is. I spent 10 mintues looking for TF display/diorama ideas today (specifically something like yours), and here you make an update video!
Great video. Love how your thinking ahead of your display instead of just stacking it out. I'm in the process of redoing mine and understand how much time and thought goes into this. Great job on yours. Real artistry with the dioramas
Brilliant 👏 mate, just started a collection for my son, bit harder for these to get hold of in the UK 🇬🇧 but the KO versions from China are very good and cheaper , i watched these cartoons when I was 5 loved em ever since, can't believe how amazing the modern toy detail is, great video would love you collection at my house ! Hopefully one day 🙏
Thank you! Kinda similar situation myself, I rediscovered masterpiece Transformers when I was getting my son some of the transformers mainline figures. BTW some KOs are good and some aren’t, it kinda depends on the figure.
I've said it before but you have the cleanest, most well curated collection I've ever seen. The passion and craftsmanship you put into the displays is inspiring. I hope you keep the Maketoys seekers and display them in alt mode alongside the Seeker 2.0 from Takara.
Thank you much for such high praise! I do enjoy it. That’s an interesting idea with my Maketoys seekers. We’ll have to wait and see how the 2.0 seekers look in person.
Awesome display and great posing and additions to the Detolfs. Question. I’ve watched all your videos but in this one it appears you covered the LED lights from being viewed from the front? Brilliant idea to avoid distraction. How did you do it? Will you make a quick how to video on the process? Thank you.
Thanks! Yes you noticed! I was gonna mention it in the video but forgot. For my lights I applied some electrical tape to the top(back side of the led lights) of each strip. This prevents some of the light to seep up through the glass to the shelf above. Then I cut some strips out of a black plastic binder cover and taped them to the front making sure the plastic hangs just below the light. Hope that helps!
Thanks! I used various ways to anchor the figures down so they can stay in those dynamic poses. Feel free to check out my other videos especially my Dynamic Posing Ideas series to see how I did it.
Hey man i notice you use yellow.lights over white ones is that right? Saw your collection on Bobbyskullface. Always wanted him to review your collection. Keep it up!!
Very impressive. Got to say, that Galvatron and Cyclonus setup is my favorite. How are u able to get the figures in running poses? Always look forward to ur collection updates. Those custom display bases definitely make ur collection stand out from any other MP collection. If u have time, check my 2020 collection too. Wouldn’t mind getting ur opinion.
Thanks! Please check out some of my other videos, that’ll go into better detail about how I was able to pull off those poses. I checked out your collection, some nice pieces! I like the variety and use of risers. I need some more combiners in my collection!
I subscribe you need more attention your display is insane you know how to display things well Most people who have detolfs don’t make it look the best like Bobby says they usually have to much negative space at the top but you have them so it eliminates that and makes it look really good they fill the space pretty well
Thank you for the support! Please share! Yes I agree, that’s why I started the channel, hopefully I can give other collectors what they can do with their collections and their Detolfs. I think all shelving have some limitations, even the Billy’s BSF uses. It’s just a matter of putting the time in to make it work. But that’s part of the fun for me! Thanks again!
@@DFormers yea some people put thousands into figures and then Chuck em on a shelf Well some don’t pose them just place them there and they don’t look that appealing
Yes such a wasted opportunity. Unfortunately I think for many collectors, it’s more about the “hunt” and procuring figures but I get that. It’s addictive.
@@DFormers yea i get most my enjoyment out of posing and getting the characters I love and recently proper display I used to have them all neutral posed because I didn’t have space but when I made space I started to display them properly and now I want to get into diorama making
Man.. your display is so amazing. Puts mine to shame. Love the creativity you've put into all the custom stuff and some of those dynamic poses are unreal, especially on Sideswipe and Mirage. Wow. Wish I had more space so I could give each bot some interesting poses too. Amazing bro, looking forward to checking out the updates as they happen. Out of curiosity, how do you get the feet to stick to your bases with some of those leaning poses?
Thanks! Yeah I’m struggling with space as well, but aren’t we all. :) To get some of those figures to hold those poses I had to create various armatures in their legs which then connect to the base. You can find more details about my process in some of my other videos.
Lifting the detolf off the floor makes a huge improvement of your view of your collection for sure, I usually keep my favorites to the top but your method is cool, how many inches high is the under cabinets? I’m a big fan of your dynamic displays.
Thanks! You like the XTB version? You know I had the XTB Seaspray all preordered and when I saw that FT was coming out with the 2.0 I ended up canceling my order. I’m hoping I made the right choice. At the end of the day, I go with looks above all else and I do like the chunkiness of the redo.
articulation wise, XTB has it all. it has ab crunch, full ankle tilt, elbows gives you the full run, knees goes way past 90. but if you like toon accuracy, FT is the better choice.
i have the XTB and i’ll just stick with it. it’s half the price of the FT one. BTW speed star allows you for more waist swivel if you unclick that ab crunch. it has two ab crunch if i remember it right. love the dioramas and lightings. keep it up
Nice! Yeah you can’t go wrong with either choice. Personally I do have a soft spot for the more oddly shaped figures. Cosmos, Hoist, and Huffer don’t get a lot of shine but I like the design of those guys over others.
Really?! I discovered the one ab crunch on Speed Star, didn’t know about a second. I’ll have to check out some review videos. I hope it’s not one of those waist crunches that totally break up the sculpt. Just picked it up and haven’t played with it much. Thanks for the tip!
The collection and display really is top shelf stuff. I believe I saw before you make all your display pieces from foam ? Is the wall behind the displays painted black ? Or is it some kind of draping that gives the effect ? I'd love to know. Thanks
@@DFormers most definitely stealing that idea of using the foamcor boards when I redo my shelves. Another question, how do you get some of tour poses to stay ? For example Sideswipe, do you use some kind of fishing line or something?
