I like your understanding of roleplaying games; I always tell people that in roleplaying games, you play a game, and you play a role. It's that simple. Yet, there are many that only focus on roleplay, or only focus on the game side, and scoff at others that manage that harmony between role and game.
100% agree on Rule 4 - Limitations and constraints are the key to good RP... so many players do not understand this and think that limitations "hamper" their RP. Similarly Rule 10 (RPGs are not therapy sessions)... I think so many people try to use it that way. And they really shouldn't.... Overall, I agree with all of these. I have said many of the same things in my own rants, but yours was much more concise and to the point.
I see what you're saying, but the players have to explore to roll on those random tables. The direction they choose to go in will determine which tables they roll on.
@@RGH-Press true, most systems do also give you random "hooks" too though Really you should have braunstein tier players that need players to do odd jobs for them so that the referee basically becomes just that, an arbiter of the rules, rather than a storyteller But to each their own I suppose If you like world building it may be hard to sit entirely in the sidelines like that

Nailed it. ❤
Always bring a towel.
I didn't know you were related to REH
That's neat
Also I'm afraid rule 2 is mostly wrong
The random tables largely set the table for the players
