One thing that the anime doesn't tell you about Zoro is that he's an orphan. The Manga tells us that he wanders from village to village seeking people to fight. But he gets lost, so him being apart of a family in the filler is so much sweeter given that context.
It's been a while since I read the manga, but I don't remember it explicitly stating he was an orphan. My headcanon is that he just got lost and never found his way back on his way home from kindergarten. Which was just across the street of course. And obviously his parents went looking for him, but couldn't find their way out the front door... Tragic!
Okay! So, as someone who’s drowned before, I thought it was so interesting you said it looked beautiful when they were drowning. Zoro being kidnapped by a gaggle of orphans is honestly the best filler episode in the whole anime 😂! So happy you got to see it, it really shows how Zoro sees the Strawhats as a family (and we get to see him take care of babies while wearing a crop top ❤).

Because the stuff that isn't written by Oda can go against characterisation, themes, and plot. It sometimes creates misunderstandings about both characters and story. Been a while since I’ve seen this, but it’s nice to see that the orphanage episode has some subtle foreshadowing for the canon story despite being filler. A certain Mama Bear type character that’s raising a particularly unruly set of kids.
Dogs really do run away when they’re dying, y’know? My dad tells me this story about Jack, his old dog. Back when Dad was my age before he got married, he and Jack would hike around the mountains where our old house was. One day, Jack slipped off a short cliff and smacked his head. Dad tried everything to save him, but the wound got infected… bad. Like, worms-started-crawling-out bad. Jack was still hanging on, but his eyes were always watery from pain. Then one morning, Jack vanished. Dad searched everywhere and finally found him lying by a river, way far from home. He carried him back, but Jack ran away again. Dad brought him home again. After a few rounds of this, Dad realized Jack wasn’t just running away he was running out of time. So he decided to let jack rest in peace, Dad gave him a shot mixed with poison and painkillers to end his pain and suffering. Jack just… fell asleep peacefully. Here’s the thing: Dad says Jack taught him that sometimes love means letting go, even when it tears you apart.
The water 7 filler episodes are all really cute! I'm glad you're enjoying. It's fun to see what the different crew members get up to in their enforced down time!
Filler episodes have given me Zoro babysitting in a crop top and Goku and Piccolo getting their drivers licenses. I can never truly hate the occasional departure from canon because of that.

Especially exploring more about Zoro and Sanji while having fun with it, I think it was a nice break away from the intensity of Enies Lobby

These fillers represent important aspects of one piece so well. Like for these two episodes: The luffy one clearly paralleling merry stuff while the zoro one is about one of the best themes of one piece, found family.

I think when a dying animal leaves the pack its usually because they are aware of/don't want their bodies to attract any predators or things that would endanger the pack
😳 6:18 This story reminds me of a Japanese Children’s Story about accepting death? I took a quick look for the title, but remember confirming it after watching an episode of Ghost in the Shell- a Tachikoma runs away with a little girl seeking her dog.
I love water7 fillers so so much💘💘🌟 it's just hits different!! and yes, please, don't mind other people saying skip this skip that, do as your heart says!!! we will keep watching you and supporting you❤️🔥
These water 7 fillers give a lot of depth about life in the shipbuilding town, and the situations the crew find themselves in are equally engrossing. Nice storytelling all around.
I actually like these three filler episodes (317, 318, 319). My favorite is the third one, Sanji's story. Whoever wrote these actually knows the characters because they make sense.
These fillers are good, more or less. Sanji's in particular builds even more on Water7 and how Acqua Laguna affects the daily lives of some citizens. It builds relationships both within the crew (the fun moment with Zoro and Robin) and with the inhabitants of W7(The filler with the Yagara). The writers get to know the characters: The groups of outcasts that see themselves as families, without blood ties is one of the many core themes of One Piece and you have moments like Usopp trying to get back into the crew, but unable to look others in the face and apologize, and instead trying to do so with excuses and lies
I also watched all filler that was included in normal episodes, I only skipped the FILLER filler so I don’t blame yall for wanting to watch. It’s a great show and we all love luffy and the crew so it’s natural that we’d want to see them do extra things like this🙂↔️

Clueless dad Zoro is so much sexier than badass swordsman Zoro, I can't explain it
One of my favorite filler episodes is the Sanji and special chef with salt! I really adore the Yagara episode too. Great moments with the crew can occur in non Canon content. G8 was so good for this reason. It is nice to see them in less intense situations.
I think when a dying animal leaves the pack its usually because they are aware of/don't want their bodies to attract any predators or things that would endanger the pack
Very few people watch this filler. I like this Zoro's one, it's quite funny.
😳 6:18 This story reminds me of a Japanese Children’s Story about accepting death? I took a quick look for the title, but remember confirming it after watching an episode of Ghost in the Shell- a Tachikoma runs away with a little girl seeking her dog.
Don't ever underestimate fillers
didn't expect you to watch the fillers, that's a pleasant surprise
The things that the mom used are for cleaning hanging rugs, you hit the rugs to make dust come off
I love this fillers we are finally at santorio three baby style.
I love water7 fillers so so much💘💘🌟 it's just hits different!! and yes, please, don't mind other people saying skip this skip that, do as your heart says!!! we will keep watching you and supporting you❤️🔥
16:39 Japanese people hit carpets with those things i don't remember the name
These water 7 fillers give a lot of depth about life in the shipbuilding town, and the situations the crew find themselves in are equally engrossing. Nice storytelling all around.
Omg! I appreciate that you decide to watch this filler, i like this one bcs it's rather short but also sweet and fun 😊
Zoro put the "Z" in ZADDY
Croptop Zoro is D GOAT
I actually like these three filler episodes (317, 318, 319). My favorite is the third one, Sanji's story.
Whoever wrote these actually knows the characters because they make sense.
I'd always say that you should watch every episode, filler or not, the first time, every time, regardless of what anyone else says.
The writers get to know the characters: The groups of outcasts that see themselves as families, without blood ties is one of the many core themes of One Piece and you have moments like Usopp trying to get back into the crew, but unable to look others in the face and apologize, and instead trying to do so with excuses and lies
this filler is fun :)
To be fair to Sanji, I kind of wish this was canon EP 318. Cause Zoro didn't let Sanji live it down when the bounties came. 🤔
I also watched all filler that was included in normal episodes, I only skipped the FILLER filler so I don’t blame yall for wanting to watch. It’s a great show and we all love luffy and the crew so it’s natural that we’d want to see them do extra things like this🙂↔️
