Wow, seeing the milky way just while filming already is great even with the moon out. At 04:58 did you noticed the little meteor glowing up in the upper right part of the video?
Incredible video Alyn. I want to go back after seeing the photo of that tree again. Actually so many other great dead trees I didn't have time to photograph. And as I was getting up for sunrises and shooting through the day astro was always difficult. Will try harder next time.
Alyn it must feels amazing to see those places at night! I would like to watch a video about the safety and preparation that takes place before you go to places like these. Thank you for your unique astro vlogs
this is so exciting, i love starting my day with your amazing and delightful videos. you always amaze me with you positive energy and the way you passionately teach everything to make it easier for us. thanks a bunch alyn clear skies 🤞🏼😊
Your vidz are so awesum, i learn so much about composition. You actually look like your in heaven, & you also look so fulfilled & content amongst nature with the heavenly stars above you. And I love trees, they look great and very much come to life in your images. Thanks so much for all your hard work in sharing your videos.
A wonderful video. It's great to see you photograph the night sky - especially as I have been very frustrated by clouds here in the UK, with hardly a clear night this summer.
Very nice. Your videos are quite inspiring. I have been going out with my daughter and got some nice results using your lightroom presets!! My daughter did ask a question that you or anyone else my be able to answer. She ask who is the music artist in your introduction?
I loved how prominent Scorpio and Antares were in the sky behind you. i remember how bright it was one night on Obsidian Dome near Yosemite, something I'll never forget.
Incredible work Alyn, loved the moonlit shot as you said the light on the mountains added some subtle light to the foreground. Looking forward to seeing your next episode as I know you have had many great nights so to declare this as one of your best makes this an anticipated episode
Try the Azores too.I had some wonderful views of the stars from there.Another set of those archipelagos off Africa I'd like to do is Cape Verde.I've been up that peak on Maderia but it was in winter and during the day and there was snow up there. On the far side of the Atlantic Bermuda had some fine views of the stars too.
I spent about 9 weeks out there working in the early 2000's and did a lot of film astro work. The skies back then were dark but always had glow from the main hubs uplighting the clouds from underneath. Spent many hours at pico alto cafe before sundown, never walked pico ruvio ar night as saw little benefit from a minimal attitude gain risk of falling on some tricky sections.
Your photographs are amazing. In the first set of your photo with the old dead tree and the milky way on the last photo looks like a lady figure bending backwards while looking up at the sky
My faves the single exposure image if I’m honest…only because it reminds me of the whomping willow 😂 amazing place man I’d love to go there one day 👍🏼👍🏼
Absolutely fantastic images mate, like the moonlit version of the 2 side by side being able to see the mountains lit up. 👍🏻 Great work as always. Hope you're keeping well. All the best. Ryan.
Great stuff dude. Regarding the broken cable...couldn't you use the Imaging Edge Mobile app as an intervalometer? I often use it and does a good job tbf, just have to use my watch for the exposure time.
Hiya, I don't know how you do it, what about all the bugs meaning insects. It is wonderful to see someone so dedicated. I love how you sign your name in the sky. Thank you kindly.
Awesome! I think there isn't a lot of difference in the two tree shots because the moon is still lighting up the atmosphere for quite some time after moonset.
Wow,Look At That,Thats Just Simply Stunning, and The Opportunity To Travel To Those Places,Im Jelly,lol..Amazing Work As Always,Much Love From NWPA,Stay Safe, and God Bless and Be With You Always❤️🙏🏻🔭🌏✨And I Like The 1 On The Left
Great vid Alyn! Noticed you mentioned a malfunctioning invertalometer cable, i appreciate you've probably already considered alternatives but do you have much opinion on third party software such as Magic Lantern which enables you to do this in camera? Is there a reason why you haven't delved into it?
Do you ever get scared of heights? I tried to do something similar to what you do for the perseids yet the climb up just felt so dangerous. Stones and rocks slipping beneath my feet with sure injury or death if I fell with it, Walking on a path where on both sides of me it drops down to god knows what, I don't know if it's something I'll get used to or not. P.S: Shooting star at 4:58
the intro is dope i know its not new but i have a neat idea of making it even more better. if possible you should take a t ime lapse of casseiopeia and overlap its W with the W in your intro
Hi, Alyn. I live in Portugal (mainland), in the highest mountain in the country. Lots of lightpollution here, though... If you ever fancy a visit here or to Pico island (Azores, 2361m), give me a call... Great videos! Cheers.
Can somebody in the comments please tell me how he gets video of the sky during the talking phases between photos? Is he just cranking up the ISO super high and using video on his spare Sony? Any tips because my attempts to video the night sky seem to be blobs of black and unusable specs of white. Thanks.
Red lights don't take away your night vision (technically, "rhodopsin in the human rods is insensitive to the longer red wavelengths"). It's why you always see them used by hikers, astronomers, the military, and so on.
4:59 meteor behind Alyn 🌠🤩
Very Exciting for part-2 ❤️
I love ❤️ your all Astrovlog video.
Phenomenal Video, Alyn. You're living the life, travelling to these places and being able to witness such views! You inspire me!

Incredible video Alyn. I want to go back after seeing the photo of that tree again. Actually so many other great dead trees I didn't have time to photograph. And as I was getting up for sunrises and shooting through the day astro was always difficult. Will try harder next time.

Very fortunate to have cloud inversions, it’s helps a hell of lot to view the stars! 🤙😎👊

A wonderful video. It's great to see you photograph the night sky - especially as I have been very frustrated by clouds here in the UK, with hardly a clear night this summer.

Nice video Alyn, so nice to find a place high above than clouds. Here in Hong kong astrophotography usually disturb by clouds
You can try in Alqueva region in mainland Portugal
Always inspiring Alyn!
What a soothing music in the background...can anyone please tell its name?
Great stuff dude. Regarding the broken cable...couldn't you use the Imaging Edge Mobile app as an intervalometer? I often use it and does a good job tbf, just have to use my watch for the exposure time.
Truly outstanding as each photo came on my jaw dropped wow every single one my favourite. Now do I get 14mm or keep my 24 1.4 decisions.

Great places! Wonderful night! Have you ever been at Dunadd in Scotland? My daughter lives there, and I am from Germany
Awesome!
I think there isn't a lot of difference in the two tree shots because the moon is still lighting up the atmosphere for quite some time after moonset.
Brilliant footage. Liked the fact that Alyn IS human. Disliked the teaser for the next video..... makes me anxious waiting for it 🤣😜

Hey guys,, what's a good backpack that can hold tracker+camera+lenses+tripod as well as tent+sleepbag+food+clothes ?
You can use your phone to trigger bulb mode for unlimited exposure
did you notice the shooting star above your head at 4:59 ? 😃
Bro, that cliffhanger at the end... gif me ze video!
What's the outro song ?!
Why you didn't reviewed the new Sony 14mm 1.8 yet :( ?
Why do you use red headlight?
Red lights don't take away your night vision (technically, "rhodopsin in the human rods is insensitive to the longer red wavelengths"). It's why you always see them used by hikers, astronomers, the military, and so on.
i live in madeira. let me know if you are still here and would like to shoot
on the mountain
hi guys I was thinking about selling my 24mm for the 14mm? what do you guys think?
Dude goes across the world to take a picture of the milky way 💀💀💀
Funchal have the 3rd cleanest air in Europe, the rest of the Island should be even better to see stars and milky way
Am I the only one who noticed the meteor at 4:56
At least there are no wild animals there, so you are 100% safe.
Do you think the earth is flat?
