This is the problem with Indian manufacturer's, surprisingly a Japanese company like Yamaha has high quality control and they allowed this to happen.
I asked my friend to adjust the nut which was beside the clutch lever and we decided to reduce a little bit of freeplay. I always felt that the clutch lever on FZ 25 was very loose right from the time i purchased it in 2019. Even after complaining so many times the mechanics kept insisting me that it's fine. I can't tell how irritating it was to shift gears on this bike.
Anyways after the adjustment, i never faced hard shifting ever again. Infact its been over a month. My gear shifting have never been this smoother. It almost feels like a new bike and i dont even feel like its a FZ25 which is known for its bad gear shifts. 😂😂😂 I hope it helps.
Very correct, last to last week mere mechanic ne clutch tight kiya to mujhe difference feel hua. Ab gear shift kafi smooth hogaya hai. meri bike 13000 km chal chuki hai aur clutch plate tear down hone ki wajah se day by day gear shift smooth hota ja raha hai. I bought fzs25 recently. Been 2 weeks. I faced the hard shifting issue and also noisy shift. I suspected my pressure wash had something to do with it. So I cleaned my chain and used a bit generous amount of chain lube. All of it fixed after lube was dry on chain. Only problem was alot of oil spills on my alloy wheel and side stand because of the excessive lube spray.
Sahi mein. I also faced the same issue initially but now its all ok.

I've problem in my bike which is my bike won't go beyond 90kmph. It was used to go 120-130kmph.
But now it won't reach 100kmph. It is now 29k kilometres and I'm regularly servicing bike.
Also I'm subscriber from the beginning and all videos helps me understanding my bike better.

Check for compression, do tappet adjustment. Ask service center to do compression test if they can.

I have Yamaha FZ V3 and my bike's service recently done at service center. I am facing very much power loss. In trafic conditions I am using first gear instead of second gear because otherwise my bike will get off and I took the test drive of another FZ V3 that bike does not having this issue. What can I do? Actually there is no pulling even in 1st and second gear what may be the real issue?

same issue was in my FZ25 I compained about it to the service centre but they said its alright all FZ25 are like this....unsatisfied with the service then I contacted a local mechanic he just tightend the clutch lever cable on the handle bar and it worked like magic.

Clunky Gear shifting has improved drastically after changing my swing arm bushes to nylon type instead of needle bearing type provided by Yamaha. Gear shifting is now as smooth as now as butter now. Try switching to nylon type swing arm bushes, hope it will help all the FZ25 riders 😊

Hi I've found a work around for this problem by rev matching every time i want shift gears. Esp downshifts. While downshifting, just blip the throttle with the clutch pulled in and down shift each gear. It'll never miss a shift. If you are searching for neutral also employ same technique. Moving from 1st to N will require a gentle tap. It's muscle memory and it can be learnt. Hope this helps.

If you are planning for use at higher rpm then go for rtr. But as a owner of 25, I can say it is more practical motorcycle and till 100 kmph it is the segment king.

And i have noticed hard shift when chain ⛓️ is tight.
I am seeing many people are installing v3 clutch on old fz. But its a doubt that it will fit on fz25 because the primary gear shaft is different i suppose. They have nut size of 19mm but fz25 nut is much bigger. Thread is M14 vs M16. V3 have 3 friction plates fz25 have 6. So i highly doubt. Even though it fix there can be performance related issues.

Bhai you are completely right, my clutch is completely damaged within 25,000 Kms. Service center executives are asking me to replace the clutch plate. Can you suggest me anything better.
If clutch doesn't slip while acceleration then its fine.

It depends on how confident you feel within yourself. I suggest to get about 150cc to get hands on then switch to more power.
FZ250 should have Gear indicator.

My friend's March/April 2017 model has harder gear shifts plus it is difficult to find neutral. But my August 2018 model has smooth gear shifts and is very easy to find neutral. What you mentioned is mostly the issue here.

Amazing and informative as usual. I thought I only have this gear shifting issue in my FZ25. Since lockdown I don't ride much but it will be good if you find some solution on this.
I wasted lot of money to fix this issue, later i learnt its not easy. 1) I think they made the clutch discs bit thicker than they are supposed to.. Taking few microns on each may solve 2) May be this can be solved if they give a smaller 'push lever' as an update. 3) May be the pressure plate springs are ways too over tempered.
If we remove 1 friction plate and pressure plate then will it work?
Some fz doesnt have this issue at all. Don't know whats different in it. This is something not easy to fix unless technical knowledge is there.

Maine ye bola hua hai tappet is for performance not to cure sound. Sound toh increase hoga. Sound ko band karne ka ek hi solution hai.... Bike start hi mat karo 😂

Hi, thanks for the video. You're one of the few youtubers whose videos i wait for. I have a query about the FZ25. The bike starts fine at cold start and remains on while idling, and once it's turned off, it refuses start again and a longer press of the self switch or multiple attempts is required to get it to start. The issue is there in all climates and fuel levels. Even after asking the svc to check the issue, it remains unresolved . Do you have any solution or have you faced anything like it
Check in terms of compression, fuel, and spark.
Tappet for compression. Ignition coil for spark. For fuel check the spark plug for fuel behavior (color). I mostly think its an tappet as it expands with heat so clearance needs to be accurate. I hope this helps. Let me know you want whatsapp me
