    I’m a CNC Swiss machinist, and alot of our parts get chrome plated so we run our OD 5 tenths under print nominal and IDs and 5 tenths over print nominal as a plating comp. The chrome plating will add roughly 3 tenths to any surface!

    Why would Harley spend money equipping the Sportsters with rubber mounted handlebars if they didn't think it was necessary? It's just amazing how many of the parts you changed can be bought from Lowbrow customs. If I didn't know better, I might get the impression you were doing this build to sell parts. I'm surprised you didn't outgrow that long hair stuff years ago.

    • @lowbrowcustoms
      @lowbrowcustoms  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Harley makes parts to ware out and then eventually need replaced, just as car manufactures do… you go to a stealership and they take your money. Couple years later do it again. Couple more years later it happens again, and then the they say the bike is obsolete and want sell you a new bike… we are trying to show people with these vids you can work on your own bike and give confidence in those who haven’t before and yes some shameless promotion of our own products on this very free content. 😁 have a wonderful day and happy riding.

    • @Paul-zv2gj
      @Paul-zv2gj 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      All OE parts are a compromise to satisfy a range of customers. Some like a softer plush ride where some will sacrifice some vibration for a more confident feel. Matter of choice but it would stupid for a brand to build a bike that doesn't demonstrate their own parts catalogue?

    I'm sure I'm overthinking this... when replacing fasteners on the primary housing, the goal is not to move the surfaces clamping the gasket, so remove one, install one in no particular order, different from when installing a removed primary cover when the goal is to spread the load on the cover to 'squeeze out' the gasket. Is that right?

    Not reusing stock headlight/horn/signal switches?
    What are my options other than cutting into my stock housings if I’m running bars that aren’t notched?
    My stock XLH883 Hugger housings are mint and I’d like to keep them that way in case I ever want to put the bike back to original.
    Do you sell housings I could cut into or switches that would be fairly easy to install without butchering my wiring harness?

      Hammer or hooligan kits are more well known. I like the hammer 1275 kit as they had special high tensile liners developed for those cylinders. It's higher grade steel so it should hold up better over time.

    Never liked the black or matte look on the HDs. Looks like you were to cheap for chrome and had to spray paint everything black. Black good for track and crotch rocket bikes. Plus shiny chrome is easier to see than black when your riding which makes you a little bit safer.
