When I saw Bebe in CHICAGO Marilu Henner was Roxie Hart. Bebe, a tiny little thing, put every ounce she had into “I Can’t Do It Alone”. She climbed on rigging on the stage as part of the choreography towards the end. When she finished the theater erupted in wild applause and cheers. Marilu, sitting calmly in a chair, smiled and said,”I don’t know…can I see that last part again?” The band picked up at the hardest part of the number and Bebe did it perfectly a second time!! The roof came off the place after that! I don’t know how she had any breath left then. 😂👏🎉👏😊🎶💕
Watching this makes me love Rob Marshall even more. He had a huge challenge in adapting this, and managed to keep the essence while letting it be a different animal. Both are brilliant.
I found myself wondering exactly when Bebe discovered that her vocal talents were as formidable as her dancing ones. I had a funny notion while watching this genius piece….what if in real life, while performing this knock out medley at the White House, these two monstrous talents, suddenly in a blinding flash, found themselves transported through time, and performing this for Dolly Madison and all of her mad coterie. Yeah, I can see how that might be very interesting and possibly very entertaining.
It is amazing the things you miss in life, while your busy doing other things. Bebe Newirth, Linda Eder, Karen Siemba, vs touring europe on a motorbike, glorious memories of europe, lovely memories of the ladies I met. But after watching Karen & Bebe on ladies of broadway, and finding Linda Eder , I consider myself lucky to have to have senn them, but ladies you missed out on a trip round europe that was divine 😅😊😊
Sweet mother of Pearl, the apotheosis of the “triple threat”!!!!!! One woman, 3 minute MASTER CLASS! Viva BeBe Neuwirth. ❤️❤️❤️😍😵💫😍
Cept you can't see the choreography through the cut aways. Wanna see the MOVEMENT not the bloody close-ups.
OMG-absolute perfection.
Incredible. God bleSs BROADWAY!
Bebe loves Broadway AND Broadway loves Bebe!

Bebe has no bones in her body.... it's unbelievable!
Ever since this revival, she's the best Velma!!!
Lord that revealing outfit; was that happening in 1998? I don't remember that exactly.
This was a real treat! How fun to get to see a White House performance from Chicago.. w Bebe Neuwirth no less! Thanks for sharing. ❤❤

I’ve watched this an unhealthy amount of times.
And she went back and did Roxy in another production after having her hip replaced.

❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥 These gals are the bee’s knees!!
Ty so much for finding and uploading this.
imagine doing that (plus all the other dances) 8x a week. dang. This is the number that wins ladies Tonys (and Oscars).
To discover one is helplessly self-referential on TH-cam. 😢😢😢😢😢😅😊
Fantastic!!
Omggg!!!❤❤❤
Wow!
Does anyone know why Ann Reinking wasn't part of this performance at the White House?
This is a real gem, thanks for posting
I love them. Who are they?
Bebe Neuwirth & Karen Ziemba
Laurel and Hardy ...
If you don't know her otherwise, perhaps you remember her as the tv character of Frazier Crane's ex- on Cheers, then Frasier
Lot less viger in this one than new one still good
Now add all her other numbers, multiply that by 8 shows a week for however many years she did it, and WOW! Unimaginable work and dedication.
Love this! ❤️❤️❤️
