The most helpful, easy to follow, and immediate help TH-cam putting video I’ve found after watching this is the 10 minute Eureka putting video on grip, dominant eye, and stroke length. It was personal and recognized every player’s differences.

My favorite golf box drill is an at home drill. Cut the flaps off the box and then putt into it. I do a drill where I start @ 3' and stay at that distance until I make 3 in a row, then go to 4' same, then 5'. Drill done when I've made three in a row at each distance. If you can putt into the box, you know you are putting straight. Also, the hole looks huge after this drill.

Unless you’re a tour-5ish hcp, speed is hands down the most important thing. Speed minimizes 3 putts. Less 3 putts means lower scores. Once you have a good feel for speed, then consistency. There are pros who have toe/heel up or open/closed faces. Consistency = predictable. Predictability = made putts. Notice how he was .8* closed and missed low then 1* closed, but made on the right side. He varied the speed.

Matt, I prefer the .10cent tee method vs the $15 sleeve method, LOL! You're still the man bro, great drill. And speed is more important than line.
You can be online and jack it 6ft past if you don't have finesse.

Love the channel Matt. Bought the #Blast last Nov after ur initial review last year. Was working on face angle and tempo, fitted for an Evnroll putter, practicing and #Blast will not charge, 3 emails to #Blast and no response. Lasted 3 months so I went back to ur #1 recommendation and drew large line on the ball. Too bad about #Blast so just wanted to warn your viewers about their customer support.

If you take a polyurethane striking block for installing flooring pit a peice of tape on top for alliighnment you can do this drill and the ball goes more true when striking it and you can hear it better if your making double contact .

Try putting a skateboard wheel - the cylindrical kind. I found one on a green at my course - no idea how it got there - and tried to putt it just for fun. Holy Moses! Unless you are absolutely, dead nuts, square at impact, it will flop over and tumble like crazy. Only a pristine stroke will get it to roll at all.

The best drill for face angle is to buy a 48" metal straight edge. They have a hole to hang on the wall. Place the ball on the hole and putt as usual keeping it on the ruler.

Awesome idea for practicing putting...I'm thinking this could be done in your home also if you're not able to get to a putting green. I was wondering if you could do a fairly extensive video on green-reading... I've played courses that the hole looks perfectly flat and yet the ball seems to move away due to grain or whatever....Thx....Keep up the awesome vids...

I focus on speed first. If you can consistently hit the ball -2,3 feet past the hole, then the line will react the same way more consistently. ( but I do not disagreeing with having the face square. ) that goes without saying. With all clubs honestly. If you can’t square up the face, you are dead. 🤷🏻‍♂️🍻 Great video.

Hi Matt. I love the vids. I love how easy you illustrate ideas and have fun. Just a quick question. I’m from Ireland and my local course has very slow greens, even in the Summer. How would you recommend I play them? Ie, heavier putter, hit harder (I don’t want to get too wristy doing that). I know I could hit the ball closer to the hole but where’s the fun in that. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Keep up the great work. Peter

😂🤣😂 square putter face 650 times luv ya brother. Agreed club face square but not that simple. Got to have touch, got to keep wrists still. One day I putt well the next day yips, it’s a crap shoot. Pitch the ball close to the hole and eliminate the frustration that comes with the flat stick. Be safe!

If you just want to practice hitting the box, just do it at home on the patio, driveway or carpet inside. This way you don't look like a clown at your local course in front of all your friends! 😂🤣 You'll also be able to do it hundreds of times throughout the day at your convenience without leaving home.

Instead of the box from a sleeve of golf balls, tape 3 golf balls inside the cardboard tube from a roll of toilette paper and see if you can roll the tube straight. Any angled contact will move tube in a crooked direction. And no, no one will laugh at you for putting a tp tube. Promise. 🤓
