Thanks Larry, its good to be back. I get into tiny bit of fishing in the next vid, but there's more in the third. I'll have to do a fishing trip this next spring again. Thanks for watching! 🥃
Great start to the series Tyler. I camped on the porch of that lodge/camp and at your 2nd campsite when I travelled back through there in 2018. Keep up the beeps. Looking forward to seeing the rest. Keep up the good work, and thanks for documenting Saskatchewan canoe routes.
Thanks Mark! I remembered your videos so had it in the back of my head I could stay at that camp on the first night if I needed. I was worried people would be there so I crashed on that island. Also I remember you staying at the second camp as well. It looked so nice in your video I couldn't resist camping there myself. ⛺ The first video starts off slow but it picks up after that......with lots of beeps! Thanks for watching! Cheers🍺
Hey Chris thanks, it's good to be back. Yep, the Clipper Caribou "S", I'm pretty happy with it. I totally recommend the kayak paddle with it. Did you end up buying a canoe? Thanks for watching!
Right on!! Looks like the start of a great trip. I like the yellow Clipper. I couldn't make out the model, is it a tripper, prospector, etc ? Wonderful camping out there.
Nick, It's a Clipper Caribou "S", needed it to do class 1 & 2 on this and some up coming trips. Ya man, some truly great camping out here....and you get it all to yourself. Thanks for watching!🍻
Ha ha ha, awesome! I take it the forty creek cream is good? Thanks, the boat is just what I needed. She rides a lot better in whitewater than the Wenonah Prism, but she slower. Thanks for watching!🥃
Mark, good to hear from you. The double blade is good. Its really handy in a head wind or on calm waters. Especially since the clipper I'm riding isn't a fast as the Wenonah Prism I'm usually in. My body didn't like it at first, but as with all things you get used to them. I didn't like the kayak paddle in a tail or side wind. I found it easier to control the boat with a canoe paddle. As well, things are going to get wet in the boat with the double blade. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching!
Was a nice surprise this morning to see you posted a new video. Looks like it's gonna shape up to be a good series. Can't wait to see how your review goes for the kayak paddle
Ya it was a great trip, thanks for watchin! There's a little more action in the next episode. As far as the kayak paddle goes, I actually hated it a first. Its not the paddles fault but my body's. It didn't feel natural at the start, but as the trip progressed I really started to appreciate it. The kayak paddle really aided me in a head wind or in calm waters. But with a tail or side wind I preferred the canoe paddle as it was easier to keep the boat straight. Hope that helps. If you're from Saskatchewan, I picked it up at Eb's in Saskatoon, I just asked Jeff to hook me up with what I needed and it turned out pretty good. Cheers!
@puddlejumper-sk I'm a Regina guy. Born in the Jaw. I was also looking at getting a clipper next season from FAE. A solo so was thinking the caribou . My 17 foot coleman is a bitch to solo.
@@Drunkenmagus Ya a 17ft Colman would be a tank to paddle solo! I don't have a lot of experience with paddling a bunch of other canoes but the caribou seems to balance lake travel and river travel. Its noticeably more stable than my Wenonah Prism on waves and whitewater. I can use a j-stoke easy enough, but its nice to have the kayak paddle when the going gets tough.
Great entertainment for a Saturday winter morning! Looking forward to more! Thanks for sharing your exploration and video mastery!! How do you like the addition of the kayak paddle?
Kim! The kayak paddle is solid, though I need to develop more kayak paddle muscles to make it more enjoyable. It really helped with the head wind but I still prefer the canoe paddle with a side or tail wind. Are you going to get one? Thanks for watching!
@ I like my kyak paddle for that extra power and control against the wind and currents. My regular canoe paddles are so much quieter so I use them especially in conditions where I want to paddle silently. Both types also allow me to utilize different muscles through the paddle day.
Thanks! Its Good. It's obviously not as fast as my Wenonah Prism, but its a lot more stable in waves and rapids.🛶I haven't paddled many different solo canoes but the Caribou S seems to strike a good balance between a lake tripper and a white water canoe. Super stable in class 1 or 2 rapids. Thanks for watching!
Yay, you just made my weekend. Was hoping to see some of your fantastic videos again. Thank you.
Thanks for watching, sorry for taking so long, had some technical difficulties.
Cheers!🍻

Great video! Congrats on the new boat. Your videos pair well with a morning coffee and perhaps a little Forty creek cream

@puddlejumper-sk 100% recommend the 40 creek cream. Hopefully you sorted out your portage yolk problem.
