- In this Video, I add threading to a unthreading bike fork. Using a Die specifically made for threading steerer tubes. The tool I used was a VAR 40B Die holder and a VAR 97698 die for 1 1/8th inch, 26 tpi and with a 60 degree angle. This can be of course replicated for 1 inch and 1 1/4 inch forks using the suitable die.

Thanks for uploading, I'll be attempting this myself soon, so handy to see how it should work!
Nicely done(pretty expensive tool though😮) local bike man did that job for 10€, shout out to Fahrrad beckers in MG!
What brakes are you planning for this build? If they're cantis, what cable hanger for the front? I kept thinking the steerer is too short for a hanger on a spacer in the headset stack.
Cable guide is integrated on the arch/bridge of this fork
Please give link of the tool( amazon or flipkart)
Where do you get the tool to do that???
I borrowed from a friend. Cyclus and park tools sell one but it’s relatively expensive
Can I thread a 1 1/8 threadless fork?
Thats exactly what I did in the video….
@@atboy4342Oh thank you, silly me, I'm actually doing this to make my fixed gear fork which is 1 1/8 threadless, and I bought a 1 1/8 threaded headset. Thank you and God bless.
Surely it would be much simpler, cheaper to buy a threadless headset instead of this process?@@nzo_6543
@@atboy4342 I already did used a threadless setup but i wanted more of a classic look.
