This is such a beautiful song. Ebb Tide is definitely one of the Righteous Brothers top 5 best songs. I am so glad you got a chance to react to it. I knew you'd love the melody and Bobby Hatfield's incredible vocals. On other Righteous Brothers songs, Bill Medley's vocals dominated. However, on this one, Bobby got the chance to really shine with his vocals.

What a beautiful song. People think that Bobby Hatfield is on famous for his single Unchained Melody, besides his duo with Bill Medly. There is practically no limit to his vocal range but he’s just amazing. When we lost him in 2003 I was just so sad. A gift to the music world but his music lives on. I remember this from the 60’s as well. Thank you for playing it.
PS: I love anything the Righteous Brothers do. Can you please react to Rock And Roll Heaven. It’s they’re tribute song to stars that have passed. You will recognize those people right away.

"Typical Bobby." I almost wish I could be that calm after a song, and finish, like that. It made me tear up. (two Kleenex)

I enjoyed this reaction. Please react to Bobby's solo "Brothers". The song tells their story. It's a very touching song. After first listening to it I took a short moment to process it and literally cried. It's powerful if you love the Righteous Brothers.

It’s a treat watching your reactions, you both are such charming and genuine ladies. If you would like to hear the ‘Brother’s’ take a turn you might want to check out their version of ‘I Just Want To Make Love To You’. Also, after they became popular, there was a joke that there was a spike in the birth rate 9 months after they released a new record. 😁😉. Stay safe and stay and well,

I think if I have one criticism of this song (and yes, "Ebb Tide" is not just my favorite Righteous Brothers' song, but one of my all-time favorite pop songs), it's that the wall-of-sound production dominates the vocals just a bit too much, making it difficult to understand the lyrics of the amazing Bobby Hatfield!

you can confirm these facts if you want to . Righteous Brothers Unchained melody became the tune everybody copied. It was sung by over 670 artist. It hit number 1 in 1965 but when the movie Ghost came out Bobby Hatfields song hit number 1 again, after 30 years later. Also the song That loving feeling was chosen as the most listen to song in the 20th century. FYI

I love how the Mom looks through the whole song like she's been there before, because she has, even though she never heard this particular song before. I continue to be amazed at how this generation of music is moving the next generation. Kind of sad for them because it has become so much more about the money, not only noticed in the music that is produced but also in the music that could have been. Of course, there is still beautiful new music but there has truly been a culture shift in this art, like all arts.

I was 15 in 1965, I bought the Righteous Brothers album mostly because I liked You've Lost That Loving Feeling. I'd play the record over and over again on my little record player in my bedroom. There were two songs that I'd replay again and again; Ebb Tide and Unchained Melody. Neither song got any airplay. I felt that I found and was moved by songs few others knew about or felt the same as me. A few years later, at 17 I was in the Navy and had mostly forgotten those two favorite songs by the Righteous Brothers. And then the movie Ghost came out. Bobbie Hatfield's Unchained Melody was the music that was tied to the movie. Bobbie Hatfield had no legal rights to the music. He later said that he too was surprised when his song was played in Ghost. Nobody knew it was he who was the singer. He said he felt like running into theaters playing Ghost yelling that's me singing. :). And, now I am watching reactions to Unchained Melody and now Ebb Tide. I get chills and my 74 year old pulse rises when I see reaction as you two have to a song that is close to 60 years old now. By the way, I watched the Righteous Brothers live at the Hollywood bowl that I think was their last concert. Bill Medley still had his deep baritone voice, but Bobbie couldn't get close to hitting his high notes, so they had accompanying singers that would help to fill in notes that were out of Bobbie's
    reach.
