Mexican standoff between 2 New Zealand bird species

We love this bird species interaction. Large NZ Woodpigeon vs tough Tūī.
The Tūī is protecting the nectar while the new Woodpigeon (Kererū) visitor was exploring all possibilities.
A Mexican standoff occurred.
A truce at the bowls .. smile.

Some folk say if you have Tui u get no other birds around.
Not so here Reg. Just in their nature to protect their food source it seems.
Kereru are chill comparatively.
