Wow, great tips! I like the sound of the MX's pianos, but this mod makes them sound even better. I'm gonna try it on the 'C Grand Piano' patch too. Thanks, great mod.
Great tutorial, makes a big difference! Actually, the whole series is very useful. Do you have any videos on how to use it's midi features? I'm trying to to put it in a chain, when I would like one channel to play from the mx49, the other signals are for another device. I cannot find how to disable or mute the other channels. Any idea what the solution can be?
MX has 2 active ch1 + ch2. Both channel will be on when layer is selected. Probably you select layer? Select only 1 channel from MX then you should be ok.
Hi again!! Just a quick question if possible...What's the difference between this procedure and the other one in other previous video where you applied a VCM compressor to increase the piano strength? Which one do you recommend for live gigs? Thxs in advance!!
This is great question. This option is taking advantage of compresor AND EQ with 1 insert effect without using master EQ. Both methods will sound great in live gigs, depend when you layer with other voice. Other video is specific ONLY piano performance, not piano Voice.
MX49, MX/61: Save a User Voice 1) Once finished editing your voice, press the [Exit] button twice 2) Press the [Edit] button 3) Cursor down to 'Part' 4) Press the [Enter] button 5) Cursor down to '08 Voice Name' 6) Press the [Enter] button 7) Use [Dial] and cursor buttons to name your User voice 8) Press the [Store] button 9) Use [Dial] to select desired User patch it will be saved to.
Hello, I own a Yamaha MX88. I bought an expression pedal and can't find any tutorial to set it up. Could you tell me how to do it? My wish is to have 2 sounds (for example, piano + organ) and to be able either to switch completely from one sound to the other, or to have only one sound and to evolve, using the pedal, towards the 2 sounds mix. Help, I'm lost! In advance, thank you for your answer. PS: I consulted the documents sold with the piano, there is no explanation in them

Very nice anh Minh-Dien ! Thank you verymuch for your video !!!
Hey, thanks so much for this video. My question is how do I save the new edited piano sound?
you have 128 slots to store as user. within voice edit you have save menu. check the reference manual (not owner’s manual)
