Lauri had stopped loving basketball in Bulls. They didn't have another choice than let him leave. More interesting would be to know where he would be now if he would have had a) competent coach, b) right kind of exercise routine and c) some good veterans in locker room from the beginning of his NBA career.
No one talks about Markkanen and the fact he's never played over 68 games in a season and only has 3 seasons where he even played 60 or more games. Best ability is availability and he's not always available unfortunately injury wise. He's kinda in AD and Embiid Territory with injuries.

I've seen over 8 teams as potential landing spots for Markkanen. It seems like every team wants this guy on their roster. As a Cavs fan I wish we'd given him more time. Markkanen along with Garland, Allen & Mobley with keeping our draft picks would've been nice. The way all these guys have developed they'd be a force. We wouldn't have Mitchell & be paying a max salary leaving so much room for bench depth besides LeVert, not to mention we could add a 3&D player to the 4 spot.

Lauri is melanin free KD. His game at a similar hight and style a little more comfortable going to the rim and playing down low as a power forward. In tye right system he can be the difference between making the playoffs and going deep in the playoffs. Golden State still needs a rim protector that can average 10 plus rebounds a game like Jarrett Allen from Cleveland would be perfect and since OKC got Hartenstein who would have been a great fit in Golden State there aren't many options left and fewer when you factor in what they can afford plus what they aren't willing to give up.

I'd hate to say it but Pelicans should think about letting Zion go. Dude is an astronomical talent but the work ethic, constant injuries, and attitude (i.e. entitlement from being constantly heralded as the next face of the league) are a big detractor from his potential. I'm a Wizards fan so I have no skin in the game but I'd give him up in a heartbeat to bring in Markkanen.

Kuminga gives the warriors more. Athleticism defense slashing back cuts rebounds and getting better on offense. Lauri only taller and a better scorer. He don't play center. Warriors without kuminga won't have any rim pressure outside of curry podz and Wiggins driving

The hamstring just had him out for a few weeks - at the worst possible time. It was nothing but bad luck. The Pelicans would never offer Zion. Whether people think they should or not is neither here nor there - New Orleans is all in on him. If they were gonna shop him, they already would’ve, and they wouldn’t be shopping B.I.
They could potentially offer BI and a sweet pick package but they may have to add in someone like CJ or Herb or TM3.

Ever since Danny Ainge fleeced the Sixers by basically trading the #1 pick in the 2017 draft (Markelle Fultz) to them for the #2 pick(Jason Tatum) and an additional #1 pick was a masterstroke because everyone in the NBA knew that Ainge was going to take Tatum anyway!
He didn't fleece them no doubt markelle was the easy number 1 guy in that draft, it has nothing to do with ainge or basketball or are u gonna say ainge somehow caused markelle to get into a bike accident ruining his shooting shoulder for years

If the Sixers had stayed at where they were in the draft at #3, they would have gotten him anyway, because in addition to everyone knowing that Ainge was going to draft Tatum #1, everyone also knew that the Lakers were going to pick Lonzo Ball at #2. On top of that, the Sixers turned down an offer from Sacramento who offered their #5 & #10 picks for their #3. Players like De'Aaron Fox, Larri Markkanen, Donovan Mitchell, Jarrett Allen, Bam Adebayo, and O.G. Anunoby, among others were still on the board. So yeah, Danny Ainge played Jerry Colangelo for a sucker and got the player that he wanted all along and got an extra #1 pick.

Imo the Jazz can be an environment for a star or borderline star to become a superstar. Imagine the endless possibilities. Anyone who has been known to average 15 points on a stack team can be the main guy in the Jazz. For example I believe if Ben Simmons has fully regain his confidence or just that he isn't required to shoot but be what he was at Philly would be a steal. Any recent fallen play or a borderline superstar can be made is the environment the Utah Jazz are creating
