Robert Fico has been injured in the shooting and taken to hospital. The incident occurred after a Slovak government meeting at a location outside Bratislava, news agency TASR reported on Wednesday, without giving further details.

As a Slovak I agree with you. Unfortunately the government neglected Ficos security and instead of taking the blame they criticise the media which is very unprofessional.
The new Minister of the Interior replaced the head of the Office for the Protection of Constitutional Officials, who was an experienced police officer, with the head of the district office, who was a civilian a year ago... here is the result, members of the security forces are selected based on familiarity and not skills!

Bodyguards & Driver didn't start the Car immediately. After keeping the PM inside, the bodyguards are going near the shooter instead of taking the car immediately.
Escaping is important because of the Gun shot.
These people are not trained in real-case scenarios, whatever the outcome, save the Head of State and move quickly.

No there are not metal detectors and luggage search for a gathering in a public square.
At best all they “body guards” can do is look for known suspects, have snipers on the roof, plain clothes guards in the crowd. This incident looked like poor situational awareness, terrible communication, and a lack of training.

Look at those bodyguards slipping and sliding all over the place. Top tip if you work security make sure you have footwear that allows you to grip and move in an emergency. Bet the same thing happened when they spotted the shooter. 😂
