@@PunkDogCreations Dude! I saw your username and recognised it immediately! I go back to your one Mcfly Lies nightcore song every couple of months. At least just to pay homage to a great song and lament you are not doing any more :)
Vanilla inventory system is the epitome of AOE2 10 elephants fit in the transport ship while 11 archers don't. And I thank UL for overhauling that, truly my favorite 7DTD mod out there
Polished is indeed a perfect word to describe Undead Legacy. I love playing UL equally as I do DF and it has gotten a lot more of my attention than most other overhauls, over the last several years. UL is also, IMO, comparable in detail to Project Zomboid. I tend to think of UL as "what vanilla 7Days could have been," where Darkness Falls is the demon-squishing slaughterfest that I enjoy when I want to be a murderhobo.
Yes, quite a few say UL is what vanilla should have been. It was actually in my script for the intro, but it was one of the things I cut in the interest of time. :)
I have 4700 hours in vanilla 7dtd, and fell out of love with it, I picked up UL a week ago, and am really enjoying the game again, this is a great vid, thank you
LOL. I was waiting for your arrival. I didn't even bother about posting it personally to you in discord, as I knew you would spot it! I hope you didn't fall off a chair or something :D
your production value was as goos as the modpack. nice cinematic shots, overviews, music, way of explaining/ showcasing. awesome work :) got another sub (you should have more :P, keep up th e good work)
Waddup bee fam I was looking for a breakdown on UL a while ago and didn't find a good one, appreciate you taking the time to put this together, the mod looks sick tbh
That is why I started these types of videos. When I was deciding on Darkness Falls or Undead Legacy years ago, I was annoyed that I had to watch hours of playthroughs to get an idea.
I like what you said at the end. Definitely polished is a great word to describe UL. I don't really enjoy it so much due to the grind, but I can't refute that it is not a great detailed and mod.
Best mod. Its been over 6 months since last update for it I am actually worried if undead Legacy is no longer supported. I believe that mod will be so famous soon Hope the mod owner don't give up on it
Hey mohamed I doubt SQ will give up. He puts so much work into it to make it perfect, it takes a lot of time. Hopefully it will be out before A21 soon.
It would make sense to wait for A21 at this point. Being that the Fun Pimps don't give concrete release dates, its may be better for them to wait for the update to happen instead of getting really involved and then the patch happens.
On his discord he is telling that he is working on it and hopes to release an update at the end of Summer. His own words: A lot of people have asked me to address A21 situation and Undead Legacy. I've already started work on updating the code base of UL 2.7 to A21. It's hard to say exactly how much time it will take, but I would be happy if it's by the end of the summer, TFP have changed a lot of things with A21, it's not just the surface level stuff, that you see (more props and reworked/new POIs), there's a bunch of stuff not even mentioned in the patch notes.
Thanks Adam :) Yeah, I think the grind aspect is the only thing that is what turns some away. However, if you go in with a reasonably open mind, it just maybe something you will enjoy. A lot of what the mod offers is what I enjoy.
I greatly miss the "get better at doing" actions from what was it, alpha 15? I really enjoyed that. I really liked the constant feed back of getting better with weapons and tools. Great sense of progression. I wish current 7 days would impliment both systems. The exp system and the get better at doing progression. Gives me more to play around with and more to do.
I wasn't around in the earlier alphas, but I believe players used to exploit the learn by doing system, so it got patched out. It is a pity, as it certainly does make sense. Especially as TFP tend to make an effort saying their game is an RPG as well.
@@SnowBee yeah some players exploited it, but it was far better than the current “just run quests over and over and over and over” system. There’s no survival aspect anymore, it’s just quest simulator.
Makes most sense overall. Of course I'll get better at archery if I use the bow all the time. Getting better at archery just by reading books doesn't make much sense 😅 Same with cooking. Can't cook simple bacon and eggs, because I haven't read enough magazines? 😅
Excellent video and I love the editing effects, very stylish! Undead Legacy is such a great mod and the broadcasting feature is so good I refuse to play vanilla unless it's installed. Total game changer. I hope to see more updates on this mod in A21!
Это один из лучших модов на 7 дней, что я видел / играл. Спасибо разработчику и тем, кто его поддерживает. Очень хотелось бы увидеть его для А21 в ближайшем будущем)
Hi He Passarelli Thanks, that is why I started doing these "What is" videos. It is difficult to get a good idea of what a mod is about when you must watch many episodes of a playthrough.
Nice coverage. I played this mode for hundreds of hours - on max default difficulty it is a torture at the start, but later on it gets easier. But it never becomes too easy which keeps the game challenging. I also like that you can automate most of your routine by building farms, oil rigs and automatic mining stations.
Great video! Never was really interested in modding 7DTD till i saw this video which i never knew how much Undead legacy has to offer, reminds me of project zomboid. Keep up the work dude!
My favourite way to play it is to drop all block damage, loot, and XP gain down to 25% and turn off blood moons while greatly amping up wandering horde size and frequency. I also run the 'Dangerous Cities' mod which, while it makes mining/hunting/etc. pretty chill, makes urban operations *MUCH* more 'interesting'. I call it the 'Chill/Terror/Grind'.
Yes, I actually did blood moon, then switched it off to better spend more time getting resources for making my base and just enjoying playing the mod. I then switched it on again once I got to day 50. I also extended my days.
@@bananamafana3433 Yes, apparently it does run. I checked the UL discord and various comments suggest it is fine. I have seen with some mods, players will add the mod into the mods folder, however, they rename it to it appears after all the other UL mod folders. So they rename the new added mod folder with "zz" at the start. So now it loads last after the others.
@@SnowBee ok that makes sense and ill have to look into how to make it work with the 7d2d mod launcher that i use. Do you by chance know any works with that? I can always try to find a video or forum about it but nonetheless thanks!
I'm not really a huge 7 Days to Die fan and didn't get into the game much, but this video really made me interested in seeing what's in there. Can't wait to see the guide.
@SnowBee it's a common misconception that most youtubers feel, collaborating opens up the community, it doesn't shift the community! Love your videos, stumbled on them this week, fastest subscription I have ever done on TH-cam
Nice coverage! Makes me want to dive back in and give UL another shot. All the fixes and minor changes to it that SQ made were most of the little things that were irritating me, still not entirely happy with how grindy it is, but that is part of the "experience" and is his vision for the mod. Keep up the good work Snow!
Might actually have to try it for a new series/Season 4 7 Days To Die Multiplayer. Been playing vanilla A20.7 forever now with my bro and making a series out of it. Mods are always something we've kind of effed with here and there, but there usually is something that isn't quite right and we stop, or, I screw up and corrupt a save haha. I think UL, despite us being causal gamers, would be doable for us, or at least a good one for us to give a shot. This was such a well made video man, and a visual masterpiece. Well done!
You know, I've been playing since alpha one and I remember this mod's name floating everywhere, never tried it before, maybe this is the time! Thank you friend!
One of my favorite features of UL is that early on, you can make money just by stealing items from poi's and selling them to traders. No more hoping loot drops or trashcans will fill your purse, now you can just sell everything... or decorate your home/base with them. A truly immersive world, and the weight limitations add another level of realism. No more carting around 10 6,000 count stacks of stone or clay... or being encumbered because you looted A feather.
Yes, I enjoy the weight management system in UL. However, I do understand why many do not enjoy it, especially as I am a hoarder, Still, it is not that bad as some like to say it is. The feather analogy is certainly a good point, though with many overhaul mods, the backpack is pretty huge these days :)
@eclipse369. I had the same problem when I first saw the mod over two years ago. I left it and didn't bother until more and more players bugged me about the mod. Now it is in my top 5 of best mods. However, there is one aspect of the mod I don't like, which I have expressed to SQ. So, I do understand your reluctance to play UL. Weight management was something I didn't want to have as a problem either.
@@SnowBee It really is one of my favorite aspects of the mod though. 7 Days makes sure you need to eat, drink, heal, cold makes you burn through food and drink faster, working makes you burn through food and drink faster, clothing gets damaged and you have to fix it, buildings have weight limits to them when it comes to stability... in a game where so many real world needs and physics come into play, carrying around 6000 stone breaks the immersion. Granted, the game does allow you to literally put a 4x4 jeep in your backpack :) and ignore sleep forever but in many ways it tries to stick with realities of surviving within this world. Weight management is just one more factor that you have to take into consideration. Although it does make it a bitch to move home bases in later game (which is why I 'paid' Trader Rekt 10,000 dukes to rent one of his trucks when I had to make a big move... it's in his base and he is always trying to make more dukes so why not).
Great video! Honestly my favorite mod. I don't ever play vanilla any longer because this mod is so much better. Would love to see some updates though. It's been a while.
Have fun! It will likely only be out for A21 once it reaches stable, and some weeks after that. So you would need to go back to the Alpha 20.7 version. However, the difference in interface and crafting/research makes it like a new game.
@@SnowBee cool, thanks for the reply. Guess I can wait, if 7D2D isnt too long in experimental 😅 which overhaul would you recommend Darknes Falls or Undead Legacy, or is there even a better one?
@@gamper94 Rebirth, Darkness Falls and Undead Legacy are probably some of the most popular mods out there. However, they are all quite different in various ways. I think Undead Legacy is closer to vanilla in various ways, and is considered how the vanilla game should have been created. Its main differences in the crafting, research, workstation and skills make it very deep and enjoyable. The drawback is that some don't enjoy the increased grind and weight system it brings in. I think UL is a good starter for getting into an overhaul mods and has a more gradual difficulty increase. DF and Rebirth both increase your monster difficulty, and have a large variety of monsters. So, like UL they have many different features, however, they move away from just being conventional. So, crazy monsters will be found in DF and Rebirth, while UL will try to stay more immersive to the original game, just do it a lot better and be more polished. The food and farming system is also deeper in Rebirth and Darkness Falls, than in Undead Legacy. However, they all have lots of guns, and tools. If you wanted more of a challenge, then I would go with Darkness Falls. Otherwise, try Undead Legacy. Of the three, I think Darkness Falls will hit A21 before the others.
@@SnowBee Damn, thanks for this great answer. Definitely going with UL then, dont want to go too far off the game and i do enjoy the grind, looting etc. Really appreciate taking the time to answer with such a good answer. Thanks a lot
Neat video, I am unsure on how closely you pay attention to your editing but I noticed that in the Workstations chapter of the video you had accidentally left the "Additional Text Here" field above the Workbench. Just making sure it's noticed :D
Yeah, they are very different. There are those that will do hand to hand combat as to why Darkness Falls or Undead Legacy are the best mod. However, they play very differently and I love them both. Just that Undead Legacy works on the same very high standard of polish, similar to Rebirth. Both still have not released for Alpha 21 yet.
This is just the best lore friendly overhaul mod for 7dtd. It introduces a lot of QoL improvements to the game and many other things that make the game much more deep and interesting without changing main mechanics too much. Just awesome.
Loved The video and it tempted me to try the overhaul. I turned my game back to 20.5 and installed the mod (so I thought) but all I got was a loading console that said errors so I'm not sure the issue. Will give it another go as I really want to try this.
As a not-so-casual UL enjoyer, Undead legacy has become my baseline 7 days experience, improving on the base game in every way. Everyone I talk to who's played it agrees, it's the ultimate Vanilla+ style overhaul. No gaudy inventory screens, no poorly balanced audio layers, solid implementation of learn by doing while still using the skill point system. It is the definitive way to play 7 days.
You don't think that is vanilla coming through? I have noticed with my exploring at night and sneaking around, without any skills I can be quite close to zombies without detection.
Yeah, I have been asked a few times to do a comparison video. However, I am a bit scared to do it. I don't really want to suffer the possible fallout and annoyance of some people. Still, one day.... :)
@@SnowBee I am not really sure you could compare them. Darkness falls focuses more on a story and has a lot of features, while undead legacy is extremely feature rich but doesn't have anything (so far at least) for a story. I think any comparison would have to be 100% opinionated and not fact based.
@@Jammen690 Yes, the opinion can be pretty subjective to what I like, and that can lead to "mine is better than yours" arguing. However, I will give it a thought at sometime. Stating the features could be a way to go, and not comparing. However, I think if one said both had the same feature, then it would lead to a "which is better" question.
@@SnowBee As someone who only played vanilla, I really don't care about that. I would greatly appreciate a comparison, for example, side by side at the same time, of same aspects of the game. Just factual info, no need to grade them, and you let the viewer decide what fits him best. For example, in farming, this mod has xy possible crops, xy mechanics to tweak yield, what's the gathering/respawn mechanics behind them, and the other has xy.... the data would lead to conclusions and this way you avoid most d*ck length competitions :) Vid could even be done in collaboration with other mod's creator to get an unbiased video comparison. This game deserves it :) and mod noobs like myself would appreciate it.
frankly, i'm excited to see what subquake does with the gold version of the game. i'll play through the story vanilla first, but then i can't wait to see what modders do to it.
I really think the Modders have completed this game 2 years ago already. At least by adding a lot of depth instead of just changing numbers or making the game harder by adding nuisances.
this mod lacks NPCS, which kills it for me. I like how it feels alive and that other survivors team up against the horde with you. I like playing solo, so this would be nice.
Yeah, it is difficult to please everyone. Some do not like the current NPC options that are out there. I am quite curious to see what modders will do once TFP possibly actually add bandits. Modders may have better tools by then. Still, I do understand your preference. I also like NPC's to help full out the gameplay a bit. However, Subquake is one to make sure things are working very well before he ever adds anything. So I guess it will take a long time before NPC's ever make it into UL.
No, its version 1 will be coming out later this year. I am quite confident it is coming in 2024. There are huge changes and additional features, so expect some amazing stuff before the end of the year.
You are likely looking at a few more weeks for UL A21. So, either rolling back, or looking at something else. However, rolling back is not too bad with UL. The new interface and models on items certainly give A20 a new look.
I have to confess that I believe I have discovered a personality trait I didn't know I had while playing 7D2D mods......I am a closet pyromaniac, in real life I dont yearn for the sight of fire, but in 7D2D nothing gets my jolly meter pinging than burning down a house that hasn't spawned the mission mob. HOWEVER this has led me to dismiss some great overhauls for the lack of block fire damage, and I consider that a weakness on my part, but damm the flames man the flames.
Haha, yeah, it is quiet fun watching a house burn down, albeit, it does take a while. Are you playing Age of Oblivion? I know AOO has the fire mod built into it.
@@SnowBee Was and was enjoying it but the darn bug that causes loss of resolution on objects such as vending machines etc etc was getting to one of those niggling things that stop you enjoying the game. I did switch down to 1/2 res as you suggested but then got gun glitches and some vehicle ones, going to wait for 7D2D 21 update and then the Oblivion update before trying again. Not encountered the same bug in the other 7 overhauls I have tried so if a vanilla bug guess I am lucky not to have encountered it before. But my top 3 overhauls are AOO, Undead legacy, Darkness Falls and Rebirth so its not like I am not kept busy LOL.
Need advice. Only played vanilla so far. Later on thinking going into mods. Darkness falls is the most recommended one, however this looks...well, as if devs themselves made it. It looks like 7D2D 2. Like a sequel. So my question is - what's D.Falls got (or Ravenswhatever) that trumps this one? Because this seems epic, after watching this video. I gotta admit that. The only downside I can see is not having enough variety in enemies (though the scorpions look amazing and I love their design and concept here). Is that it? Any advice is much appreciated. (and no, "try them all" is not an option, playing with GF who is quite noobish and I don't wanna make her adapt 5x to 5 different UIs and mechanics, I'm happy she got the hand on vanilla :)
Hey Davor Grčević Sure, if you want a similar vanilla experience, but just a lot better with many additional enhancements, quality of life changes, models and a longer playthrough, then Undead Legacy is a good option. The only thing that is not for some people, but I have to mention it as it is a significant change from most mods, is the additional grind for more materials and and weight system that is foreign to most mods and vanilla. Apparently RH has a similar grind, but Undead Legacy is a huge amount more popular and apparently more fun that RH. Darkness Falls brings enhancements, quality of life changes, but does bring in considerably more changes to increase the challenge. Many of these challenges are based on your difficulty. So most newbies should start on nomad or so. Warrior if you are a veteran player. Not only does the difficult make a difference on things like headshots versus body shots, but weather, food/drink and especially gamestage increasing faster on the higher difficulty levels. Of course there are a plethora of items, upgrades and skills to combat this, but still demons will be demons. So, it generally puts Darkness Falls as very challenging as you progress. Darkness Falls has a basic story, while UL does not, but I would not hold this against UL as the DF story is not great, but will be better in the future. Another mod to look at is Apocalypse Now. I suggest that as it is similar to DF, but not as difficult.
Ty for a swift reply. To be honest, if UL had some sort of tougher opponents for late game (but still zombie based, not demonic), and just 4-5 more varied small scale threats , be it zombies or animals or both, I wouldn't even have doubts about it. As it stands right now, I'm leaning more towards UL, gotta check both of them out some more Cheers!
While I have your attention, if I might make a suggestion for a new enemy. How do you feel about making a baby zombie? Ok, child. Much smaller than adult zombies, MUCH faster moving. Silent but screams loudly 1 second before jumping on you. Screams would spawn and attract new regular zombies. Very easy to kill but difficult to land shots on. 2 varieties, the other being a crawler - faster than normal crawlers, even harder to spot due to size and speed. I feel these would fit nicely into the world, having you be even more on your guard, from sneaky fast little nightmares. They could even have a debuff effect, for example exploding when killed, if it was close to the player = sticky blood that slows you down for 10 seconds similar to wire traps. Aka extra incentive to not let the little monster near you. Later varieties could even climb over walls as the difficulty progresses, and call in vultures if allowed to come to close to scream. I suggest this because I find it lacking in the 7d2d world. After all, if Dying llght can have zombie kids...why not?
@@davorgrcevic1867 Yeah, zombie kids are lacking :) Age of Oblivion mod has a zombie girl scout, and Joke Mod has a zombie kid which is difficult to kill but does little damage. However, your suggestion sounds pretty interesting and certainly more complex than others. Still, I don't see why a mod would not try to implement it, I guess it depends on the devs involved and if they would be interesting in doing it. Joke Mod would like be the best one to try get it past. I highly doubt TFP will ever do that as "kids" and children are often considered subjects you don't kill.
...was kinda hinting towards your mod, having them ;) I know the TFP mantra is "bigger is better", but I disagree. Smaller + weaker + harder to hit would be a challenge in itself. Kinda also makes sense, with kids being full of energy all the time, makes sense zombified ones would be too. Hmm...perhaps giving them a mutated look could help alleviate the stigma factor via dehumanizing them further? TL;DR make new enemy types pls ;)
Yeah, it has NPC in its name I think, like NPC Bandits or something. It is standalone and you can add it yourself. It needs to be added to the end of the list of folders in the UL folder, but apparently it does work. I have not tried it though.
i love these WHAT is videos we need one on sorcery mod and mabe go back and update some of your older WHAT is videos aswell due to them adding and changing so much over the years
Yip, we are on the same track :) Darkness Falls is going to get a makeover once A21 arrives. I am going to do Sorcery around about the same time after A21 comes as well. Depending on what is released with Apocalypse Now for A21, that will also change.
@@themightydataless Haha, yeah, that question is certainly asked every now and then. I am unsure about it as I don't want to alienate people and have a fight over subjective opinions. I have mulled the question more than once, and sooner or later I will bite the bullet and do it. Just how exactly is the question.
Awesome Video and Presentation, Snowbee. I tried 2 time to play the mod but unfortunately this mod is not made for me. I can not stand the weight system and the "messy living" out of plastic bags in the begin. Would love to give it a go because it looks so clean and promising, but the 2 things i mentioned before are my personal barrier. 😔
I found the weight system only a problem at the start. By mid game I really enjoyed being able to full my backpack with so many things. However, many items that you must collect does make gameplay a bit too drawn out. I don't mind it too much, but there is one thing I did moan about to SQ about: That is the RNG issue when upgrading. I hate failing when I upgrade. I think that usually leaves me pretty annoyed as many of the components on the higher levels can take quite awhile to obtain. So it hurts to lose them for nothing. Other than that, I think this mod is pretty brilliant.
@@SnowBeeGotta agree with that. If your gonna have failure chance then there obviously must me a penalty but there should be a way to reduce it. There needs to be a system in place where either you can decrease the failure chance (skill perhaps) or not lose all of the mats. Take JWoodle for example if pretty much just wen tf this and refused to upgrade at all anymore because of it.
Haha, I am actually English. Born and bred in Durbs. Moved to the western cape in the late 90,s. Been here since. :) My wife's family is Afrikaans Some actually say my accent is a cross between maybe Australia and US possibly. It is ALWAYS great to have fellow South African people chatting here. Thanks for dropping by :)
Agreed, it is for many. Unfortunately, it is so subjective as to what rocks your boat, I have found it difficult to make that choice in my own brain. So many things I like about other mods, but certainly UL is up there with my top three.
Weight limit not being able to be removed, had me thinking this wont be for me (I hate enforced limitations) The crafting steps also sound annoying... thats where I stopped the video.. 12 steps to make something? that doesnt sound fun to me. Very nicely done and informative video.
Haha, well, A21's version maybe better with some aspects. There is a new research system coming in (could be better or worse), but there are some grindy aspects that may get changed. However, 12 ingredients is not a big deal with all of those items are in your storage and you never have to take them out while crafting. They are automatically in your backpack through broadcasting. So yeah, give it a think... you never know :)
@@SnowBee Decided to set up a second server to try it. Hoping i can use our existing map from the main server on it (though player progress would obviously reset etc) BUt i cant find the mod on nexus, just mods that add or "fix" things (the later gives me hope for the weight limits lol) The broadcast system has me very very intrigued. Is it called something else in mod nexus? and do you know if anyone has tried it with 7DVR mod?
@@GamingDaveUK Hey Dave Yeah, you are correct. I don't know why, but SubQuake chose not to advertise his mod on some of the mod sites. He has a website: ul.subquake.com/ You can also get it on his discord, and on the main 7 days to die forum. I did look on the discord for any VR players, but as much as there are some comments, I don't see anyone saying much about it.
@SnowBee looks like the website is out of date (a20.7 is on there but no a21) will hunt the discord down when awake and at a pc. Cheers for the info. I've played nearly all the Overhaul Mods and was looking for something new.
This looks pretty great!
Thanks Adam :)
Yeah, I think the grind aspect is the only thing that is what turns some away.
Getting better at archery just by reading books doesn't make much sense 😅
Same with cooking.
Thanks J-P :)
Yeah, I don't usually mind broadcasting being in or out, but in UL it was sooooooo necessary.
Wow, very good guide. Thanks SnowBeeee

Definitely agree Andrew :)
Это один из лучших модов на 7 дней, что я видел / играл. Спасибо разработчику и тем, кто его поддерживает. Очень хотелось бы увидеть его для А21 в ближайшем будущем)
Yes, it is a great mod. I am also looking forward to what A21 will bring for Undead Legacy.
Beautiful video, that's what i was looking for to show my friends how cool this mod is!
Hi He Passarelli
Thanks, that is why I started doing these "What is" videos. It is difficult to get a good idea of what a mod is about when you must watch many episodes of a playthrough.
Thank you, SnowBee, very informative for those of us who haven't yet explored Undead Legacy!
Great video! You've convinced me to give it a go.
Yeah, let me know how it goes :)
Awsome video like always @SnowBee 🥳🥳🥳
Excellent, thanks Archon :)
Looks awesome! Can't wait to play ot after final launch of 7d2d
Nice coverage. I played this mode for hundreds of hours - on max default difficulty it is a torture at the start, but later on it gets easier. But it never becomes too easy which keeps the game challenging. I also like that you can automate most of your routine by building farms, oil rigs and automatic mining stations.
Thanks for the kind words. Yeah, it does draw the game out and certainly gives it a longer life.
Great video!
Never was really interested in modding 7DTD till i saw this video which i never knew how much Undead legacy has to offer, reminds me of project zomboid. Keep up the work dude!
Thanks :)
I also extended my days.
curious can you run the dangerous cities mod with the Legacy overhaul? and if so how? thanks in advance for reply!
@@bananamafana3433 Usually you just copy the folder of the mod into the mods folder. Same would be with mod launcher, I assume.

That's great to hear!
And I completely get it, we all have those problems. Hope you're doing alright.
@Vimes Thanks. Yeah, doing fine. Just need to always sort out the RL stuff first and make sure all is good on that front before TH-cam :)
I like how you use other TH-camrs in your video, it doesn't draw away from your own channel, just adds to the experience people are looking for! 😉
Thanks :)
@SnowBee it's a common misconception that most youtubers feel, collaborating opens up the community, it doesn't shift the community! Love your videos, stumbled on them this week, fastest subscription I have ever done on TH-cam
Brilliant showcase mate!
Thanks ShadKats, much appreciated. :)
Thanks Dyne :)
Well done!
Damn, that is a very nice compliment! Thanks, I appreciate it. :)

Man Alpha 21 is looking great. Keep up the good work
One of my favorite features of UL is that early on, you can make money just by stealing items from poi's and selling them to traders.
The feather analogy is certainly a good point, though with many overhaul mods, the backpack is pretty huge these days :)
i would only play this mod once i edited xml to give infinite weight right off the rip
@SnowBee what are your top 5?

I played this years ago. I think it's time to revisit it. Cheers!
Yeah, it had come a long way in the last year of updates.

Great and informative video, will try this mod out after Im done with A21

Great vid Bee the editing is getting better mate. Hey what rig specs are you running the game looks really good?
Thanks shak. It is an i7, 13th gen. 64 GB of RAM, and Nvidia 4080. So, no slouch. Of course 7D2D still kills it at times.
To me editing of the video was top notch!
@Subquake Great, thanks very much SQ :)
This is just the best lore friendly overhaul mod for 7dtd. It introduces a lot of QoL improvements to the game and many other things that make the game much more deep and interesting without changing main mechanics too much. Just awesome.

This is basically what 7DTD should have been from the start.
2:25 had me dying 🤣
Haha :D
Best Mod out there !!
Hey ClemensIIX
Yeah, for me I definitely have it in my Top 3. It is a truly brilliant overhaul mod.
Worth mentioning - stealth in this mod pack is OP, without any stealth skills you can hide 2 meters away from a zombie during the night
You don't think that is vanilla coming through? I have noticed with my exploring at night and sneaking around, without any skills I can be quite close to zombies without detection.
@@SnowBee I feel like vanilla zombies are smarter
@Uncolored TFP claim the AI is better, but I am unsure. It could be that they just hit harder, further, and apply more debuffs.
Even though not a complete overhaul, I really miss Valmod. Loved that mod.
Okay, I never played that. It looks like it was last updated for alpha 19.
@@SnowBee It was definitely my all time favorite. I might download alpha 19 and give it a run just for nostalgia!
Its a tough choice for me as to which is number one, Undead legacy or Darkness Falls, but as Maeharaprojekt said, they both excel in different ways.
For example, in farming, this mod has xy possible crops, xy mechanics to tweak yield, what's the gathering/respawn mechanics behind them, and the other has xy.... the data would lead to conclusions and this way you avoid most d*ck length competitions :)
Vid could even be done in collaboration with other mod's creator to get an unbiased video comparison.
This game deserves it :) and mod noobs like myself would appreciate it.
frankly, i'm excited to see what subquake does with the gold version of the game. i'll play through the story vanilla first, but then i can't wait to see what modders do to it.
Yes, he is putting so much work into UL for A21, it is going to be awesome.
top quality content
Thanks Joshua :)
I really think the Modders have completed this game 2 years ago already. At least by adding a lot of depth instead of just changing numbers or making the game harder by adding nuisances.
Yes, many content providers are just going through different mods, and getting 1000's of hours from the game.
this mod lacks NPCS, which kills it for me.
So I guess it will take a long time before NPC's ever make it into UL.
is undead legacy out for the current build of the game ? 1.1 ?
No, its version 1 will be coming out later this year. I am quite confident it is coming in 2024. There are huge changes and additional features, so expect some amazing stuff before the end of the year.
After the debacle of A21's magazines, I might have to finally check this mod out. Even if it means rolling back to A20.
You are likely looking at a few more weeks for UL A21. So, either rolling back, or looking at something else.
However, rolling back is not too bad with UL. The new interface and models on items certainly give A20 a new look.
Best mod outhere
Great guide.
Thanks Noob Gaming :)
Wow this mod is like a new game
It is pretty awesome! :)
Oh hell yeah!
Excellent! :)
@@krulerwest-oz7364 yeah I must decide on my next mod.
Hey Davor Grčević
Sure, if you want a similar vanilla experience, but just a lot better with many additional enhancements, quality of life changes, models and a longer playthrough, then Undead Legacy is a good option.
As it stands right now, I'm leaning more towards UL, gotta check both of them out some more
Cheers!
@@davorgrcevic1867 Yeah, zombie kids are lacking :)
Age of Oblivion mod has a zombie girl scout, and Joke Mod has a zombie kid which is difficult to kill but does little damage.
However, your suggestion sounds pretty interesting and certainly more complex than others. Still, I don't see why a mod would not try to implement it, I guess it depends on the devs involved and if they would be interesting in doing it. Joke Mod would like be the best one to try get it past. I highly doubt TFP will ever do that as "kids" and children are often considered subjects you don't kill.
...was kinda hinting towards your mod, having them ;)
I know the TFP mantra is "bigger is better", but I disagree.
SnowBee, you really give chickens a hard time in some of your videos 😂🤣
Haha, yeah, I quite like messing with them :)
Does anyone know which modpack has the npc survivors or is that just a standalone mod that you add yourself?
Yeah, it has NPC in its name I think, like NPC Bandits or something. It is standalone and you can add it yourself. It needs to be added to the end of the list of folders in the UL folder, but apparently it does work. I have not tried it though.
I bought 7 Days to Die for Undead Legacy. It's one of the best overhauls for 7DTD, and I simply cannot play without it.
They should just hire these people who made this mod. they are doing more work than the devs combined
Well, I know Subquake always says that without the base game, whether it is bad or good, we would never have the overhaul mods.
i love these WHAT is videos we need one on sorcery mod and mabe go back and update some of your older WHAT is videos aswell due to them adding and changing so much over the years
Yip, we are on the same track :)
Darkness Falls is going to get a makeover once A21 arrives. I am going to do Sorcery around about the same time after A21 comes as well. Depending on what is released with Apocalypse Now for A21, that will also change.
@@SnowBee thats epic
@@themightydataless Haha, yeah, that question is certainly asked every now and then. I am unsure about it as I don't want to alienate people and have a fight over subjective opinions. dare i say that this video is quite 'polished' as well
Hey Christinson
Thanks for the nice words :)
The weight system is the only thing that will not work for me also, HATE forced inventory management 🙄

Agreed, it is for many. Unfortunately, it is so subjective as to what rocks your boat, I have found it difficult to make that choice in my own brain. So many things I like about other mods, but certainly UL is up there with my top three.
Weight limit not being able to be removed, had me thinking this wont be for me (I hate enforced limitations)
The crafting steps also sound annoying... thats where I stopped the video.. 12 steps to make something? that doesnt sound fun to me.
Very nicely done and informative video.
Maybe I am being harsh.... watched a bit more and got to the broadcast section... I would kill for that lol

You can also get it on his discord, and on the main 7 days to die forum.
I did look on the discord for any VR players, but as much as there are some comments, I don't see anyone saying much about it.
@SnowBee looks like the website is out of date (a20.7 is on there but no a21) will hunt the discord down when awake and at a pc. Cheers for the info.
(I am in so many discord servers lol, why oh why is he not on mod nexus lol.....makes me wonder if I am missing out on any other mods that aren't on the main mod site lol)
