Sounds like Brett did 2 takes on that sentence about AJ green and the editor (most likely not Brett) left them both in on accident. Along with the poorly chosen highlights, these videos could be so much better! Still love them and the idea behind them

    The Antonio Brown erasure is crazy. He did lose his senses at the end but Tony Toe Tap’s body control and route running were the reason he dominated for half a decade.

    3:23 the Moss mid-route acceleration is nuts. That is older Moss too but he just explodes through that zone like a bolt of lightening. It almost looks like the editing speeds up lol

    I have never seen someone shiftier and smoother than prime Antonio Brown. The guy looked like a human joystick. He could make a full 90 degree cut on a route and it looked like he never broke stride.

      Todays route runners are a pure demons. Adams, Diggs, Chase, Keenan, etc, we have mutiple what I like to call 3 Dimensional route runners. They can run routes all 3 levels without much difficulty.

    Brandon Lloyd deserves an honorable mention for body control. He was never consistent enough to be a great WR, but holy crap does he have some of the best highlight reel catches of all time. If you've never even heard of him, do yourself a favor and look him up .Unfortunately most of the footage is pretty grainy, despite him playing within the last 20 years, but it's so worth your time

      @@jamescooper3324 I wouldn't call him underrated considering had a total of 6k yards and 36 TD's in 10 years. He had 1 great season, a few average/good seasons and the rest were bad or non-existent. He either struggled with injuries, bad QB play, or concentration issues through most of his career - but when he was on, his catches were spectacular

      I think generational talent is a reach. He was really good, but he wasn't there with a lot of guys he played against. I'd say he's basically if Hill acted like TO. If he doesn't get his lobotomized by berfict maybe he gets there. But he was just a really good receiver over a decent amount of time who fell off at the end because of injuries. I would have a hard time putting his total body of work above Diggs tbh, and I don't know anyone calling him a generational talent...

    "Jumping" and "Ball skills" are both big elements that are missing here.

      I was here to say this.. Off the bat this could use a few more categories.. Like you said jumping or high pointing.. and ball skills... Plus YAC.. Strength or power.. Intelligence.. A very under rated skill.. Just knowing where you need to be at all times agaisnt all coverages and zones.. That's the only thing that held back (relative) Mike Evans from being an even better wr, especially with Brady.. He would be in the wrong place or not recognize the same things the qb did pre snap or immediately after snap.. To know where to break off a route or to sit in zones.. He had huge issues with that imo.. You could also call it game or field awareness.. . But anyway I regress lol I also think there should be more than one category for catching.. Spectacular and possession at the least although you could probably put Fitz there for both haha

      @kaws3076 Julio was 6’3 also close to a 40 inch vert and ran a 4.3. He also had crazy hands with amazing control. He may have not beat the other guys in that one stat but all around Julio is up there in almost all the categories

      Julio is like 80% of every category, I have a hard time saying he's the best at any of these. Stevie got the pick for "he changed the game" which is w.e But Julio wasn't the best at anything he was just really REALLY good at everything. Like the only place Fitz would fit is hands, otherwise he wasn't great at any of the others but he wasn't bad by any stretch.
      the one that got me was Welker. When you have Brady and Manning saying he's the greatest route runner they've ever seen...hard to argue. and Hill could have taken Percy's spot, but hey it's his list and his opinion so what can you do.

      Receiver has evolved so much over the years, stuff like route running is being taught at a younger age than it used to be. Also probably hundreds of thousands of hours of film you can study is readily available on the internet so you can learn how to run routes like the best. So naturally guys even that retired in 2006, only 16-17 years ago aren’t as refined as guys in the league in now or even in the mid 2010s.

    AB wins quickness for me over Percy, his insane pace and decision making in slant route and tight coverage situations was far above human level.

      Schuab was not a noodle arm, albeit he didn’t have the strongest arm in the league during his years with the Texans. Johnson put up back to back 1500+ seasons in 08/09, then added another one in the 12 season. WTF are you talking about, no one got him the ball?

    -Quickness: Dante Hall
    -Hands: Cris Carter (yes he played in the 2000's he counts)
    -Body Control: Deandre Hopkins
    -Route Running: Antonio Brown
    -Blocking: Steve Smith

      @@yezzir8929 I agree. He also had underated body control and tracking of the ball. He and Peyton would have been done well on their own but were really a perfect combo. Peyton wanted correct routes and wideouts to have expectation of where the ball would be and to adapt if neccessary. Harrison was the perfect WR for that. He also was a great example of a NFL player not just playing hard but putting in ridiculous work. He wasn't on Jerry Rices level obviously but his preparation, professionalism, and route running were close if not possibly on par.

    Feel - Anquan Bolden
    Toughness/Tenacity - Steve Smith
    Anquan was practically telepathic. He just knew when to sit, when to break off routes, where to settle, how to create leverage. Uncanny. The guy ran 4.7 but was always open.
    Steve is self explanatory. It’s impossible not to love Steve Smith. Everything you could ever want in a football player

Larry had a whole carousel of no names, decent and sometimes good QBs throwing it to him all of his career and STILL nearly surpassed Rice. If he had the same type of QBs that rice had the majority of his career, he'd surpass Rice in a nanosecond. Trust me.

    Brett, what in the hell is this video? You repeated an entire paragraph about AJ Green in the mid 2010s and "especially against Baltimore". Then chose Stevie "Why would God let me drop this td" Johnson? "Ideal route runner"?! Does Antonio Brown not exist in this universe anymore? Hell, even Andre Johnson or Steve Smith?

    First, I love the concept and execution of this video. There is no "right" answer here - okay, maybe Megatron and Moss - but the others are rightfully debated. My $0.02: Doug Baldwin as the best route runner of the last twenty years. Without blazing speed, he still would create YARDS of separation through such precise routes and absurdly quick feet. Truly underrated receiver, IMO.

Man references Marvin Harrison Jr when talking about AJ Green and doesn't talk about his dad who had *way* better body control than AJ could ever dream of. This also applies to the zero mentions of Reggie Wayne for basically any of the traits he was exceptional at as well.
    But a Texans fan is going to Texan, so I'm not surprised.

      @@patrickr2691 40 yard dash don’t mean nothing in terms of speed. A track field dose. 100m is the best option for speed. Tyreek high school he ran a faster time then moss. Hill 100m time was 10.19 in jr Olympics. Moss 100m was 10.79m and even if you want to count the 40 yard dash, Tyreek hill was click at 4.21 and in his high school ran a 4.25. Now image how fast he is right now.

    The video editor should do a better job of getting the clips to match the content. The clips just seemed to be showing how great these players were in general but it would have complemented Brett's commentary far better if they focused on examples of the skills being discussed. Still a great video but future videos in the series would benefit from more focus in my opinion.
