@@magneticpropulsion2507I built it tonight. Its only working on the USB. I get power on AA, but thats it. The display blinks and goes away. At least it works on usb. The chip under the display is a 74hc595 shift register. It sends the data to the display. I'll troubleshoot more tmrw.
@@mgtsmartlady Look at the schematic to see the pins from the IC that go to the LED display or one pin for the tuner to the IC then check them for bad solder connections..
@magneticpropulsion2507 Removed the covers , batt holder , speaker adhesives and rechecked solder joints and all ok. Had another look at the U3 , 16 pin chip solder joints that looked ok but freshen them up. On power up channel frequencies worked. Thanks for your suggestions , must say surprised by sound quality. I have got the bug now waiting for electronic components tester kit to arrive.
Wow , thx. I buy this on aliexpress , thx for your review.

@@StelthSRB check that the wires soldered to the speaker aren't shorted with solder.
@@magneticpropulsion2507 they are not, I think speaker is dead, tried to check resistance with multimeter but no readings on speaker..
Is it ok if the display turns off after ~15 seconds but the speaker still works?

Same issue , four red zero display with no frequency reading. Radio works great, though.
