I've played palworld for about 1 hour now and it's not too bad, but I do understand that it's in game preview. Do you know how to improve the sound in the settings? Because I've tried to and it doesn't help as it sounds really buffer-y
You can produce it at assembly line 1 (production) for either coal or charcoal, there are 2 recipes. Though since Coal is a P.A.I.N. to get, it's probably easier to go the extra step and burn wood to charcoal then turn charcoal into fiber.
find black rocks in any dungeon. Even the lowest level dungeon always has 3+ spawns but it's really heavy so you can never get enough of it (each whole rock is about 250 weight total I think, so unless you invested heavily into carryweight or run a team of 5 cats, you can mine like 2, 2 and a half deposits each time you visit a dungeon, provided you don't want to mine paldeum deposits there instead). If you start doing that from the very first dungeon, by the time you unlock refined ingots, you'll have a few hundred laying around in your base.

It's there it's in the timestamps I think, basically any dungeon has it, in overworld desert area more are nodes
