BUUUT as much as it sucks for VN publishers, steam still stands the test of time, so I can always support publishers on steam only, since this is a niche genre, its too good to have everything easy to get, in one place with just few clicks, like, for real, I still have Newton and the Apple Tree in my steam library and can play it and finding a patch is easy enough. I hope VN publishers explore more ways to get games on steam.
You forget about GOG. It somewhat lenient with permission and censorship, it let full version of Saya no Uta, while Steam made cuts from it.
@@Artemas_16 GoG is also curated, meaning they see games (or VNs in our case) that are earnest in their efforts and let them through. In comparison, shock value shovelware crap that was seen towards the end would never be allowed on their H section.
Dungeon Travelers is just so funny. Not only that it's a Vita game which is obviously meant it's a "safe" game, you'll barely enjoy the nudity anyway since the gameplay is just moe wizardry. You'll spent more time grinding than watching anime tiddies
The ending was perfect.
I loved how after all the media buzz and people demanding blood they just went "Approved" :D
Ay lmao
Oh man, its already been one year since the #SaveChaosHead and #SaveSciADV movement. I remember seeing it on Sunday night and immediatly sending emails to Gabe Newell and other people at Valve, Im glad it worked.
Easy, devs just gotta put hitler in the front of the cover art. 😂
Instant approval haha
Swear it sounds like they're run by bots... like a certain platform we all know.
I will protect it with all of my honor, Take me to the dungeon is the sweetest Eroge ever!
The gameplay is truly enjoyable to play, along with its story
No lie, the story is actually really good until you get to the endings (which if I recall right, they are releasing an epilogue at some point). By the end I was skipping 'that' content to just keep getting back to the game and story
Still so funny they didn't let Evenicle II because of the flashback h scene
When they don't approve FMD but they approve the wrong type of H games
I thought i've seen some shit, but FOUR ITERATIONS OF A GAME WHERE ANIME GIRLS DO THE DIRTY WITH HITLER?
I can't.
Don't worry, there's not 4.
There's even MORE, as well as similiar stuff like furries doing the dirty with anthro Hitler and ones about doing the dirty with Stalin.
Only the highest quality content on Steam, who needs silly visual novels about chinese cartoons when you have deep thought provoking mature tasteful content like this?
@@_-Lx-_ Do i want to ask why you know this?

Because I'm exposed to the sewage that I see in the new and trending tab every single day I open the Steam Store page, and have seen those games freaquently and they're rather infamous.
I'm very kinky myself, however I wouldn't ever go touch those garbage slop.
Steam approval of adult visual novels makes even less sense than 3 wave feminist in USA.
Piracy: Allow me to introduce myself
This was hilarious and informative. Well done
Seeing that To the Dungeon game on steam sales was a fuckin mental flash bang
Cafe Stella and the grim reapers Butterflies is severely underrated
it's good (there is also Riddle Joker and Sabbat of the Witch, funnily enough the only Yuzusoft title that really got tons of reviews on Steam is Senren Banka (but I can't fault it cause the sword loli is fucking amazing), the newest title was supposed to come out January (Angelic Chaos: Re boot) but it got banned last minute...
Newton and the apple trees no longer available on steam 😢
It's sad, really sad
You picked the only one where Steam isn't involved: the company that localized Newton went insolvent so every game they released got removed from every store.
@@DonaldDuckPK I see thank you for the information.
You're welcome ;)
After a bit of investigation i discovered that actually not ALL of their titles got removed, but Newton was amidst the unlucky ones. I think it has something to do with them not having finished paying the royalties to the original japanese companies.
F95
I remember seeing it there . Never got to play it though.
Steam doesn't have an approval process, you pay them $100 dollars and they'll list literally anything.
if that was the case, then these devs would be put on the platform regardless.
Steam will never decide if they actually want adult games on there platform or not like why is Kara No Shoujo 1 ok but not 2?
I thought 2 was already greenlit on the platform, but it's going to come out in the second half of 2024.
@@gotinogaden I'm talking about the old mangagamer releases that didn't use external h patches, before Shiravune picked the series up
The case of Evenicle 2 was weird even for Steam
the scenes are really tame compared to the first, truly a mystery case
They had me in the first half not going to lie
Ngl i feel this with evenicle. They did release on another platform but it takes longer than it should, plus the demo is still in steam for some reason
Ah yes, Sex With Hitler. The ultimate visual novel... There was no way Steam wouldn't approve that.
Steam:
Evenicle 1 = Approved
Evenicle 2 = No. It's illegal
Also Steam:
Sex with Hitler franchise = "APPROVED"
uncle A is not a loli so he got the pass.
funny cause I found the second Evenicle to be way more tame compared to the first, still beyond me how it got banned
Will this issue ever be fixed? 😢
Ya, you make a pretty decent point laddy (or lassie).
Edit:
Approved
Steam allows the wackiest and worst of Adult Games but doesn’t allow Adult VN’s. most of em that are on Steam require patches
That second one is just a bubch of random english words stuck together
I do have Chaos;Head Noah on my Steam account. Did it got removed? Also have this one on GOG.
Funny how Full Demon Muramasa is on GOG but not here lol
I love Clannad.
This can also apply to roblox moderate which can somehow allow the weirdest things but doesn’t allow a avatar pack called “billy” which is just a stick man with the “you are an idiot face”
There's a couple of Furry Hitler VN games...don't ask me how I know.
We've all seen the trash in the new and trending tab, I'll give benifit of the doubt.
Can someone explain to me the joke I'm a little confused I just see visual novels
It's about whether Steam banned the game or not
RIP My Sweetest Monster 2, rejected despite the first one being on steam.
The truth truly hurts
I think this has not nothing to do with criteria instead by hardware and software specificacions. Is not strange see Japanese games dont work well in western computers. Generally you need a language emulator, and sometimes does not even work anyway.
I have never encountered a game like that, you need japanese fonts installed in the worst cases but now then I haven't seen a game where you needed that for the english release to work...
@@The93Momo93 you wont find them on steam
I remember watching chaos head back when i was it early high school....didnt understand shit towards the end . Don't remember much of the 2nd chaos head anime too
Chaos head noah translated by committee of 0 is out now u should go read it
I always hated that most of the anime games on Steam are very generic, very copy and pasted and that companies don't try to do unique stuff.
But seeing how both Sony and Valve treats anime and japanese games, i can see why.
It still baffles me that they approved KUROINU of all possible eroges. Heavily censored to a laughable degree, but still.....
Im really suprised at kuroinu but the end was totally Shocked me
What do they think up in steam headquarters... aka valve
There should be sequel to steam community version of this. My friend got quite mad how random that side has been against him, fairly innocent anime game screenshots getting deleted and temporary bans or mutes, and more.
how tf subarashiki hibi manage to sneak in, that is the most unhinged hand crafted VN
By only presenting the first chapter. Cutting almost the whole game, crazy move for sure.
