- Watch Gentle Giants logging in the Peaceful Autumn Forest! Jim and the horses are headed up to the woods to do some logging and we wanted to share some of the beauty of the peaceful autumn forest without any talking.
Watch our videos to learn about draft horses- horse logging, horse farming, and horse training! Jim uses Belgian, Percheron, and Suffolk horses to do work on the farm and in the woods. He teaches about harnesses, horse-drawn logging and farming equipment, horse feeding and maintenance, and voice commands for horses. New videos uploaded every week. Keep watching to see how Jim trains his new Suffolk Punch colts as he has trained his full-grown teams!

Does everyone realize how strong and tough Jim is to do this kind of work at his age not saying he’s old but creeping up there
I had an old neighbor that stayed active into his 70's. He refused to go to a hospital or nursing home, and passed away in the home he built with his own hands.
If you don't move you lose.If I wasn't disabled Veteran,I would like to work a full-time job.I appreciate Jim's unwavering work ethic.
God Bless you, and thank you for your service to our country! 🇺🇸
@@cheryls3162 It was my honor to serve 🇺🇸
What about Brenda? Unless I missed something, She ran, outran the horses all the way past Abby's house!
Jim, I think your wife does a excellant job grooming the gentle giants
Brenda i know others have commented on this but if Jim is a rock star in logging, you are a rockstar in filming. Great job
If TH-cam had awards for photography, content, etc, this one would be in contention for all categories except screenwriter. Brenda, your touch was all over this.
I agree with that !
Brenda, you do a beautiful job of filming! Very beautiful there! ❤️
There would be a job in Hollywood for Brenda.
BRENDA THE HORSES 🐎 LOOK SO BEAUTIFUL!!!.YOUR GROOMING HAS A LOT TO DO WITH IT...GREAT JOB BRENDA...🎉❤
I just love hearing the horses chew the hay so calm and peaceful just like walking in the woods. Your horses and so handsome and well trained. They listen for Jim's commands always ready to respond. Thanks for sharing another great video you too. God bless and keep safe.
Brenda amongst many other things curries the team so well.
You know how much they enjoy getting such good care and reward with steadfast efforts.
That forest floor against the horses is just stunning
@Hello Terry how are you doing?
What a great horse Baron has become. He handles really difficult footing and never shows signs of concern. Well done Jim. Thanks for the GREAT camerawork Brenda!
I'd just imagine old mate with a ben hur outfit on galloping those horses with a sword in his hand.
Spectacular video. Brenda, you really have a good eye for getting wonderful views. How far into the forest did Jim go? The. Forest is so beautiful this time of year. I really enjoy watching Jim and the horses work. Thank you. 😊😊😊
Brenda, you are seriously good with that camera!
Terrific camera work ! ! !
O my gosh yes
Brenda...thanks for you filming....and running and walking....and being sooo patient....thank you Brenda.
Hey guys, another video where you let the horses do the talking. I loved it, keep up the excellent work.
@Hello Wayne how are you doing?
when Barron slipped down on the stump. He did not panic at all. He all ready and will be a awesome player in the woods
@Hello Rodney how are you doing?
This is one of my favorite ways to see the horses on Working Horses with Jim. Not that I don’t enjoy ALL your vlogs but just focusing on the beautiful scenery, the sounds of the horses shoes on the tarmac and of course hearing Abby giggling as Dad and the “B” team go by is priceless to me. I just can’t thank you enough for sharing your day on the farm…or off the farm because a country gal like me just can’t get enough of this living it country content. What a treat…and the horses are looking good and feeling quite handsome as I see them. Do you think when the working team goes by the other horses they are laughing with their winnies or just saying hi? Just wondering what’s in the minds of those being left behind to lollygag is all!!!:):):)
yes
Brenda your filming while riding the bike was amazing
@Hello Russ how are you doing?
I love these no talk videos. I can almost smell the barn! I feel like I’m looking at an amazing synergy of human an animal
And also, has anybody noticed how strong Brenda is. Impressive, both of them.
One of your best videos 😉. Brenda you really know how to use that camera! Great framing of Jim, the horses, everything….Great videography!
Jim, you are a master at driving your horses! They and you are in ‘sync’….amazing…remarkable. I am thankful that you can do so much vigorous work with out injury. Appreciate all the work you two do. Thanks for giving us a window into your world. Blessings on you both….
Wonderful no-talk video,Jim and Brenda! The forests, the sounds of horses and work are so peaceful. Beautiful sights with color of fall all around. On a side note…Jim, last spring you mentioned a fall tail trim rather than in March so the horses have a good length for the summer and pesky flies. Is that still your plan? Or will you do a mud season knot like your friend did in one of the videos?
I am not one to comment much but I feel I have to today. I so enjoy your videos. Brenda you do a great job with the camera and Jim's narration and comments are great. Your horses are beuatiful and so well taken care of. Keep up the great work.
@Hello Michael how are you doing?
Thank you Jim and Brenda for taking us out to the woods with you! I really enjoyed this kind of content and the beauty of the trees, the horses and trotting on the road. Glad you went by Abby's house!
Yes,that was a Kodak moment. Can't wait for Abbys next edition.
Brenda - your ability to capture the color and the sights of fall and all of the scenery with the horses is remarkable.
@Hello Donald how are you doing?
Fall in the woods is beautiful!
Awesome loved the drive to the woods. 😊
It's amazing how hard Jim works he seems nonstop, Brenda also ,your videos are the first thing I look for when I go online,,again be well and God Bless,
@Hello Harry how are you doing?
Great filming Brenda. Nice to see Jim coming and going with the team and all the fall colors.
Loved the ride to the forest! The sound of the horses hooves making the clippity-clop sound is mesmerizing to me. Could fall asleep listening to it!😘 The forest is just bursting with the colors of autumn and I loved it. Where I live in Tennessee there just hasn't been a lot of color this fall, sadly. You all have a beautiful weekend, and I will see you back Monday👋
Yes the real feel of fall is going to be soon in the air.
Seeing you brush the horses. I wonder how Baron was ever able to keep his mayne❤
ASMR ( autonomous sensory median response) I googled ASMR . Now I know why many viewers like chains clinking and horses passing wind and not the music . The things I learn on your channel , is not about horses all the time or farming. I never no what is next on your videos Jim and Brenda.Thats why I like them .
Great comment Charlie 😊😊
That baron is a very working horse Jim has come along way with him
Beautiful scenery and that’s a pretty long walk for the camera lady.😀
He backed up when she was brushing his chest. Amazing!! He is a wonderful horse.
I’m amazed how easily Jim harnesses the horses for work. Another full day of work in the forest well done😊
Really enjoyed listening to the horses trotting down the road and observing the beautiful forest you have all in silence. Silence is golden. Thank you until next time.
Jim, Brenda, Great Video!!. Thanks for the ride into the beautiful fall forest with Bill, & Baron. Can't waite for the second part!! Jim, Nova Scotia, Canada.Nice to see Abby, even though it was for a second..
@Hello James how are you doing?
My uncels used to do work in the forrest like this with horses , Finnish workhorses. It is the best way to preserve the nature. ❤
So happy to see this task still alive.
Oh how I miss brushing those beautiful horses, and of course spending time with you, Brenda and Jim! 🙂 I really enjoyed this video, along with all of the rest!
thanks to the blue bike ride she did a great job with the camer pictures don,t come like that though were beautful ,horses walking in the woods , and just the sound bring back old times when i worked in the woods with horses thanks jim and the camer lady
What a great video today...the silence was nice as listening to nature and Brenda your filming was great. Love how Baron took a snack and grabbed some leaves. I said oh no when he went down but got up as that stump helped his bumm.. Can hardly wait to see the continued video. God bless..
Baron has learned so much and has become a great working horse!
He is a stout stallion. Look how thick his neck is and he is just 4 years old.And I marvel how Bree is putting on weight.
I just love riding along with Jim and the team whatever they are up to but a ride in the woods is special. Thanks for this lovely interlude. Much appreciated.
Great job of filming. You are getting very good at presenting your story.
LOVE LOVE the no talk videos!!!!!!! So so relaxing!!! Love to hear them chew their hay:feed!! Thank you both
Just being around horses gives you an extra long high quality life and the occasional playful kick😂😂😂❤❤❤.
If I took my tractor to the Bush today when It is raining buckets only the muffler would be sticking up out of the mud. Horses are the ultimate all terrain all weather power machine.
Very good work filming this! (while riding a bicycle I'm guessing? I'd need an extra set of hands to do that haha) Love the sounds and golden colours :) thank you for sharing!
That saw seems like it’s cutting through butter. Love watching Jim fall a tree
What a great video, I miss the commentary but the scenery is beautiful, be well and God
Bless
Jim and Brenda today's video is without a doubt one of the prettiest videos I have ever seen on your channel. I said it before, but Brenda certainly excelled with her camera work this time !!
I noticed Barron not hopping when he starts pulling anymore
The skills involved in running the teams is something else. So appreciate these video
Jim your horses are beautiful animals and you seem to love them, very gentle and take real good care of them🙏🏼
I just looked at Paul Smiths weather.Wow it's really going to give some genuine North Country weather soon.Jim,I hope you get some work there soon. Seeing the leaves in full colors is so nice.
Baron is a great looking horse. I’m glad he is going to have prodigy.
Baron is so kind and intelligent. His eyes get glassy when you brush his neck under his mane, he backs up so you can brush his chest, and steps forward again so you can brush this barrel and back, etc. Too bad Jim is going to geld him. He doesn't seem to need it, but then, I'm not there day-to-day to see how he acts.
Lots of work too keep all those beautiful horses. Good thing they help earn their keep. But Jim sure does a lot of heavy lifting with those harnesses. His passion shows.
love seeing these horses doing what they was bred for and love if only everyone who has heavy draft horses do this work
When I was a child I was always amazed that my dad knew how to harness a horse, he was a school teacher. My grandfather farmed with percherons for as long as I can remember.
What a beautiful brushing this person is doing for the horse !
I’m over here wondering how she got all those smooth shots of Jim and the horses heading up the road to the forest 😊
Loved the time in the woods. Peaceful!
Barron did so well at standing straight and not having to be tired when being hooked up👏Love the Fall colours! Some of the shots could make great calendar photo, especially the ones that showed the ground just covered with them as Jim and the horses went by! How far in did yous go? What is the wood going to be used for? It looked like balsam. Very good footage, love the different angles, close ups… very interesting🙌🏼🤠🐴🇨🇦
Baron is great now, cold morning, all sorts of waiting and mucking about while hooking up, gets his leg over the traces and I could almost hear him saying, "Hey Jim, look at this here, it don't feel right...." when really, he could have panicked a bit. And they were rarin' to go.
@@louisecassidy5991 I didn’t know about this breed until I started to watch Jim’s Channel…shows how calm of a breed they are!
I have to say I enjoyed this video very much the open woods the horses radio silent so nice and relaxing do it more often!😊
There's a slick move going on here with getting the collars on. Jim's gotta unsnap the lead, I see him doing it. What I am not catching is the getting it back on! But he does, quick as lightning!
Wow! Baron got in a pickle backing over a stump, no panic, Jim gave him time to right himself, all in a day's work. Silence is golden, no words needed. Some😊 clever moves here. Thanks Brenda, superb videography.
What a great video! And Brenda, you are the best camera person of anyone we watch!
What a wonderful, peaceful, quiet, relaxing video. One of your best. Thank you.
I couldn't believe you stopped it when you did...right as the tree was falling...before that amazing WHOOSH!
It’s been a long time since I’ve run a team, trying to get there again. When I see Jim harness and hook up, i hear the teachings of the wonderful couple who taught me how. Which is good because I worry sometimes at how much I’ve forgotten in the decade since. Fine example’s in Americans, parents and farmers this couple.🙏🏻
simply amazing, just incredible...watched a few of your videos and I'm hooked!
This was just delightful. We don't get this kind of a Fall in central Texas! Just beautiful, thank you!
Jim watching you manipulate those 3 logs at time 40 was amazing
What a gorgeous ride to the woods. Thanks for taking me along😊😊
Hi Brenda and Jim, nice Video. I Always enjoy warching your Videos showing your horses working hard but also being smart
Is this in response to the writers strike with no script? I love listening to you two talk. Then again I love all of what y'all do.. Thanks for carrying on!
Wow I love that sound on the black top, they sure run nicely together!!!
Love to see the horses' coats so shiny.
I wish y’all could send us in South Georgia some of the rain. We haven’t had any for weeks. Trees are beautiful. Ms Brenda and Mr Jim I do enjoy your channel thank you for sharing.
a real bonus one for fall. but way too quiet,,feels like your best friend died, way to quiet,,we didn't realize how much we like to hear Jim talk to the horses,,or explain things..but this is a super one for Paul Smith training sessions..they will like this one, also the sounds, sights, and beauty of fall was a bonus to end the season before the great north Canadians snow comes rolling in. we appreciate both of you, great video..
Wow they love to trot
Jim it's just beautiful out there I can't believe how gorgeous it is
Hi Jim and Brinda, looks like Barons turning in to a Horse. Have a wonderful Day!
That horse pooping while running is impressive! Wish I could go that good!
love it too much...I listen to cooking peep like this also...I know Jim loves it ,,hell men ,,real men..don't like to talk too much anyway.lov from south alabama.
I wondered how you were getting that video of the horses running, then I saw your bike, good work Brenda You are the star here.
Sooooo relaxing!
Beim zuschauen....
nice no bs just horses an logs
What a restfil video, almost like being on a hayride. Makes me long for the 'good old days '. Im from PA, and Manny Gordon used to say "ENJOY, ENJOY.."
Another great video by Brenda and Jim
Thank you so much for this peaceful and very beautiful video!
I wonder what your horses would do if you tested them? One of you go lay down in the field, see if they come to check on you. It looks like all the horses love ya both.
I wonder , if I remember correctly , Barons last owner's son had a problem with Baron , I wonder if he watches these videos and see's what a wonderful horse he is , at this point he is still a stallion and still gentle around his handler ( if handler is the right word)
The prior owner is Amish, so I doubt he or his son is watching. The son(s) who handled him were likely very young. Baron has improved a lot. Yes, handler is a correct term.
That's a little rude. Baron's last owner had younger kids, and Baron was to work alongside a mare. Mares are in heat, a lot, and Baron being a stud means that even with his harness on, his brain hormones and instincts are telling him to mate. Additionally, if you've watched, mares don't necessarily like stallions, so it was stressful for the previous owner's mare, too. Yeah Baron is great with Jim, but he's mainly surrounded by other males and frequently worked, and not used for breeding very often. I swear y'all just really don't understand how dangerous a stallion can be. Imagine a Geo Metro with an attitude and a mind of its own, and it can kill you with one kick.
we believe Barron is doing so good is because of the patient gentle touch that Jim has,,I do think Brenda 's daily brushing and reassuring helps all of their horses,,she has the nurses training advantage..😅
@@JChaos1120 Give the guy a break. He didn't mean it as a rude comment. I certainly didn't take it that way. Your response was more so, and explaining how a stallion is around mares wasn't necessary. We don't know if Baron was around mares that are in heat all the time. They may keep their mares bred every year.
@@suzanneyoung8011... I agree with your statement!
Excellent. Thanks for taking me along.
YOU have now been shared on Truth Social and Twitter...We need this PEACE .
That’s so beautiful
All the Fall colors of the leaves are beautiful right now. That water looked particularly COLD !! Saw your bicycle as we passed by and the muddy road leading through to the forest !!
Well done!
That was great, I remember watching Clyde Teams build a historical fort in Alberta as a kid. Could have stayed there all day watching! Thanks for sharing
🤔 Jim /Brenda excellent work ethic and expertise, plus the minutia , logging, farming, horses , top notch talent 👌👀 ps as time passes ever thought turning farm into a school or training facility 😉
Baron is so beautiful - and BIG! Don't notice how big he has gotten except when Brenda is standing next to him. Love the sound of OMIGOSH! - the leaves on the forest floor!him munchung hay. : ) Beautiful going down the road with the Fall leaves, Maybe a Calendar pic for next year? OMIGOSH! - the leaves on the forest floor! Great photography - great "No Talking" video. Wish we could have seen the tree fall at the end.
