My wife and I are definitely going to do this on our trip in 2023. We love kayaking, and what a beautiful place to be on the water and take in all the views. It's good to know that the rental is at Kailua (and not at Lanikai). Thank you for a visual of what it is like on Mokulua islands. I haven't seen that in other videos, so it was cool to see!
Oh ya'll are pros! This will def be an awesome little excursion for you both. It was cheaper to rent a double kayak vs 2 single kayaks. The double kayak was also roomy enough to fit our cooler backpack and dry bag. I hope yall have the best time! and remember you can not get a permit to go there on Sundays, so plan around that. ALOHA

Hi! They give you a dolly for each kayak you rent. They mount it for you and you just pull/wheel it all the way down to the beach entry point. Everyone leaves the dollies there, and when you return you put the kayak back on the dolly and wheel it back. It may be a little heavy for a child but for adults it's easy. They show you an easy map of which way to walk and where to leave the dolly. I hope you get to go! :D

Perfect ocean conditions! No waves! Sometimes there’s a wave coming from both sides of the island slamming into each other.😵💫
