Hi Alex, thanks for sharing the useful tips to be a copywriter as a beginner. I am a newbie in coptwriting and starting a conversion from 9 to 5 job to freedom of working in everywhere, anywhere. It is also a big challenge for me to convert myself in a technical field into copywriting. Wish me luck on this conversion! Cheers!
Hi Alex, thanks for this wonderful video. I have a question, will the approach of a copywriter(beginner) be different in the AI era. If yes, can you make a separate video for this!
Great advice and I think the point about niching down is absolutely key. When I first started, 10 years ago, I definitely had FOMO (Fear of Missing Out). I was way too broadly niched. Once I (eventually) niched down very specifically, my career took off. I see lots of new writers agonize about choosing a niche, some don't even get started because of it! You can always pivot - 100%!!
I've been writing since childhood but never knew I could make a career on doing something I love for free in my down time. Where do you recommend I start creating and learning how to make a business out of my writing?
I am 4 months late to this video, thank God I found it now. I was impressed by the way you deliver about the detailed tips, I've been thinking of starting career to be a copywriter as a beginner with no clue what to do. Thank you so much, Alex!!
This was such a great informative video. I generally skip a video if it doesn't catch my attention within the first two minutes and Woahhh I just watched a video of 12 mins. It definitely didn't feel that way. This is an example of quality content delivered at its best. Thank you Alex for all your TH-cam videos. Your smile always brightens up my day. 🥰
Girl, you could post a link to a potato and I’d buy it. And you’re not even trying to sell me something 🤯 I can see your pretty incredible sale skills has contributed to your success. I’m super inspired rn!
Is there literally *ANY* self-led job that *DOESN'T* require networking? I freaking hate it so much. SO MUCH. I literally have not started any of the projects I've been interested in because the experts are always saying "yOu GoTTa NeTwoRk" and that is the one thing I am trying to get away from. I've tried it before. It's literally hell for me. I don't want to socialize. I don't want to get involved with people's lives or ambitions and I don't want them involved in mine. I just want to do a job or create a product, put it out there with some marketing, and exist off of that. Why is that so hard to find? ;^;
If that's not for you - then don't do it! There are not hard and fast "musts" or "rules". Make up your own rules as you go, and find your own best practices. Good luck!
I completely agree. It’s so draining- i really felt like screaming the other day. Everyone always say to network And those who are saying get into tech- that’s a lie , because even the YT techs are talking about networking
‘You gotta write crappy before you write copy’ - I love it! Alex, you’re are amazing! I still study copywriting and I’m overwhelmed with the knowledge. It’s so hard to know what you want to write about and find clients, especially when you’re starting out. I’m lost :(
I hear you! It is overwhelming in the beginning. I would suggest you ease off with taking in "new" information and take some time to simply apply and practice what you've already learned. Good luck!!
The difference between a Gen Xer and a Gen Zer copywriter really becomes evident after just watching a handful of videos from both. Both are conversationalists in their communication approach, though one is less stuffy and more direct. Both are really helpful though, just packaged differently.
Alex you are amazing. I just can't get enough of you. I want to be a super committed and expert copywriter and you are my go to person. I watch one video everyday. Thank you so much!

Thank you for this video! Love the energy and clarity! I am looking into getting started for the year 2023. Do you have any books that you recommend? I'd like to get as much knowledge as I can before I go full force with confidence.
Thank you so much for this video, I’ve been focusing quite a lot on learning digital marketing and it’s been going well but I want to start learning how to actually make money from the audience I built, by using copywriting and maybe try freelance copywriting together with social media management which I’m already doing. I wanted to find out if my offer makes sense, I want to offer my copywriting service to online coaches and consultants by creating and managing their blog and email newsletter as a way to nurture their audience and increase conversion rate through sealed emails
Sooo, this is going to sound more cynical than I intend it to, but what if I dislike networking because a part of me finds it really fake/disingenuous? Like, I'm just going to strike up a conversation with this stranger over LinkedIn? Not putting my most normal foot forward (the side of me people are actually going to interact with), but my most marketable foot forward, _"No ulterior motives here, just two friendly strangers having a friendly conversation."_ It's a mindset that I genuinely want to overcome because I know it's not doing me any favors, but I have no idea how to actually take steps towards accomplishing that. Does anyone have tips or advice?
this whole world or "game" is like that. Everyone is fake and only out for money. Its either play along and join in, or be a walking matt and resource to others. It sucks but eventually society will collapse and the luxury and status driven mindset will be diminished.

Hi Alex! Thank you for your videos. Im a newbie, an aspirant in the field of copywriting but realized through your videos that Im actually doing something similar to this path. I found some clarity and sense of direction in what I'm doing right now. I just created a personal website - wrote blogs and created images for my content. What's next? How do I find clients? What online community can you suggest for persons like me who badly needs support in this field? I really appreciate the work you do!

Hi! I'm new to this channel (and to writing for copy) and I have a question based on something I was told. This question is for Alex, or anyone else with a lot of experience in writing copy successfully. I've heard that if I get into writing copy, I will be competing with people that have a degree in Marketing and/or Advertising. Is this true, and if so, why would a client hire me instead of someone with a degree?
Not necessarily true. Although sometimes, yes maybe you will be. Some copywriters do have advanced degrees but I would say the majority don't. Just because someone has a degree doesn't mean they are talented or fully grasp the psychological triggers that make copywriting successful. The best advice is to practice. Skill speaks louder than degrees.
