Trumpet has been my entire life & career! Especially since Hearing Maurice Andre'. George Novak, the true inspiration for me, gave me his Faculty comps to hear Andre' in rehearsal with the Toledo Symphony in 1974. I heard him 2X. That was all it took. Manfredini, highly underrated and deserves more listening time. The trumpet performances are sterling. The strings are gossamer, spun gold, only enhanced by the relentless accuracy in rhythm and impeccable intonation. When strings align in this manner, the overtone series is at peace in your ears, sublime.
Every time I hear those regal trumpets, I begin waving, shaking my head like the queen, superior and snooty appearing before the lowly plebs. Ah, life is grand.

The melody and harmony are profound, lively and rhythmical. A beautiful balance between the string instruments and the trumpet. A fabulous collection of trumpet compositions so well performed that its intricacy is simply brilliant.

I am not willing to accept that challenge as I am already familiar with featured music of three of the composers. 'Patience pays' or rather, in my case, patience of more than three hours has paid off. Thanks.

I play also trumpet a b trumpet and have a piccolo but there I can not yet play good on I must have lesson in it. But this trumpet concertos are amazing!! And remember Maurice Andre he whas also one off the best trumpeters and whas important for the piccolo!! Unfortenaly he,s dead for more years now but he deserved deep respect!! Lucky we can hear him here and see also!!!
