Great music by Haendel and excellent playing on the organ! I remember when I was studying Aylesford piece and I studied by heart and didn't look at the score... It was not a good way to learn! Grazie ❤
Why English music ? it is rather music for Humanity , un like many expert who do not place Haendel equal to Bach and Hyden or to Beethoven , I noticed that Haendel invested too much in the human voice through Areas and Operas much more that any other Barock or later German composers , besides his very rich and marvelous music melodies in his lovely Suites , Sonatas Operas and events music I consider Haendel a basic pillar of Barock which influenced later music Eras and later composer like Mozart and Beethoven

Yes. Lived and died in England, He changed his surname from Händel to Handel, the organ concertos were written while he was living in England, so what's wrong with "english baroque"? "german/italian/english baroque", better?
@ duh. He was GERMAN all his influences were GERMAN. if we are playing 'nationalities' in Music, which makes a certain amount of sense at this period, he was actually Hanoverian but no one knows what that means. BUT to call him English does him, and the BRITISH composers of this period a huge disservice. to be the foreign favourite of a foreign king may not be the best entree to citizenship.
@ And why are you bringing nations here? Why are you making yourself a subhuman, a member of a "nation" that is being divided from humanity? Moreover, when it comes to music?
@BobGillham absolutely NOT. He lived in Germany, Italy and England, so "all his influences" were NOT only german. His music was influenced by Agostino Steffani, Antonio Caldara, Antonio Lotti, Bernardo Pasquini, Alessandro and Domenico Scarlatti and Arcangelo Corelli. Better learn something before writing.

The shear volume and genius of Handel is hard to imagine. His messiah is beyond epic Trevor Pinnock and St martin in the fields versions are the best.
Handel's music is foods for soul of humans
