New subscriber! I got my A2 this week and live on the west coast south of Ayr. Thanks fir your clips and channel. I intend to go through them and learn from your experience in maintaining and caring for my wee gem. Might see you on the road sometime 👍🏻
Good luck with it I had a stiff gear change when I got mine so greased the joints (directly under the drain cup) it was much better straight away. Cheers Noel
I'm from the USA. So never heard or seen of one of these until now (or I just don't get out much). I'd drive one. Nice little car from the looks of it. Nice little project also w/ the gears, paint, tires, brakes, oil, suspension, steering, and etc.
Looking to pick up an A2 in the next few weeks, tall order for us Scots as most seem to be right down south so you've done well! Subscribed as I'm sure I'll be following along with some of the stuff you'll be doing in the videos to come!
Yes, it does look very nice in red. Fix the lacquer peel and it'll look shiny and bright, as A2's do. I noticed the drivers side window was misted up, up to the last few minutes of your vlog, but it was clear towards the end. I've ordered a set of decals for my A2, like the one's on your doors (the four rings). I thin it sets it off well. Finally, what's the tax for the 1.4 petrol? Great video, yet again and look forward to the next installment. Best wishes-John.
Hi John. I'd just washed the car and was wet through. I turned the demister on but that doesn't make good footage!! 😂 The Tax is £180 for the year. Thanks for for your comments, the first thing I've done was fixing the gear change which turned out to be quite simple 😊
Looking forward to this series! Apologies if I missed it, but given the lack of history, are you doing the timing belts and water pump? The secondary belt between the the camshafts tends to go first. I’ve currently got a A2 FSI and TDI 90 with 6 speed conversion. Son has Polo with the 1.4 petrol BBY engine which I’ve done the timing belt job on, it’s not too bad, just don’t strip out the engine mounting threads or they’ll need helicoiling.
Yes, it's a lovely uncomplicated little engine as there's no egr/dpf and swirl flaps etc. I will be doing the cambelts/water pump and prob replace most other parts with new items. Things are just so cheap for the A2 that they're worth doing as a preventative measure. I'm interested in the 6 speed conversion as it gets really revvy on the open road. Thanks for the heads up on the mountings
You just have to go through all the usual culprits first e.g. Coil pack, spark plugs, cam/crank sensor, MAF sensor etc. Best thing is to find someone with VAG-COM and get it diagnosed. There are a few in the A2OC who will do that for you Just go on their facebook page or the A2OC forum. Good luck!
An absolute classic, I saw a well maintained 1.4 TDI on TH-cam at 500,000km. Audi seems to have lost the plot in the last decade. Make sensible small cars!!!
Great project car looking forward to more videos. Had my A2 for 20yrs now, love it.
Thanks. Been out working/filming on it already 😄
Looking forward to another A2 series
Thanks, had a minute so was out filming today in the sunshine 🙂

They have quite a following here and there's certainly loads to do on this one but I love a project! 😄
Nice another A2
Great video. I've never seen anything like the paint peeling off and that on an audi a2... I'm looking forward to the next videos;-)

The headlights are obsolete now so those two there are probably worth what you paid for it

Dodgy respray? My neighbour's is similar and I don't think that is a stock colour
Managed to get it all looking great and the new owner was well chuffed! Loved that shade of red.
Helo my a2 bby engine running lumpy RAC couldn't find the problem any ideas?
