Hickmans Avengers run is the stuff of legend
Amen. It's up there with Kurt Busiek and Roy Thomas' runs on Avengers.
From the sound it, most of Hickman’s stuff is.
Hickman is seriously one of my favorite creators. In my book he ranks up there with Jack kirby and Alan Moore
I agree. His versions of the characters are some of the best written, and I love how he incorporates past continuity. His writing is a natural evolution of Kirby’s big, cosmic ideas. He’s by far the best writer of mainstream team books in the modern era imo.
Yeah. For modern comic creators he’s my favorite author but my favorite illustrator is Scott Kolins. I actually didn’t know he was my friends dad until the first time when I went to his house and almost feinted

Just reread Johns/Kolins’ Flash run. That was Kolins at his best. The detail he put into illustrating that book still impresses. His cityscapes look incredible. Wally West was a great Flash when Johns was writing him

Almost despite myself, I've really enjoyed listening to this likable and amiable American guy rambling on about, "stuff," that I still enjoy just as much he obviously does and having him filling in some of the blanks regarding more recent continuity developments and new writers, (post Morrison, et al,) appeals to my inner geek.

You know, there is plenty individuals i wish Hickman would write in Marvel. Silver Surfer, Doctor Strange, Iron Man, Thor, or Hulk, but the biggest one i want him to write is Spider-Man. I do believe he could get Spider-Man to the next level and help him become a better hero, than people write him right now. The old and new concepts, people and ideas mashed and executed under his wing would make it the best run ever. In DC he could write teams like Green Lanterns, New Gods, Justice League, Teen Titans and Justice Society. But if there was a choice, i would go with JS and Spider-Man under Hickman.
I loved Hickman's Avengers n still do. I wish he would write some other Avengers titles maybe a new Mighty Avengers, Secret Avengers, or Avengers World or something else?

I agree with those who say Hickman is one of, if not the, best writers ever in comics. I preferred his New Avengers to Avengers--mainly because it had fewer characters.
This was one of my favorite stories.
That avengers team was so OP in a good way stronger then any other roster. Greater then the imperial guard JLA or legion of super heroes

thank you for doing this. last couple of months I've collected all of hickmans avengers, and new avengers, well all the way up to issues 32 for avengers, and 22 for new avengers. i have most of the time runs out issues, and secret wars also. just got through reading them all, and i think it's the best I've read.

You definitely should get Hickman's run on Avengers/New Avengers. I do recommend you read Superior Spider-Man, Wolverine, Captain America, Iron Man/Superior Iron Man, Thor: God Of Thunder/Thor, and Indestructible Hulk/Hulk to avoid getting confused by the changes these characters undergo during the run as well as understand why the roster gets tweaked midway through the run.

I was intrigued by this comic up to the point that Captain Universe made everyone else useless and thus single handedly ended the fight.
Thanks 4 the updates. I jumped off the the infinity band wagon after the second infinity series. I was tired of the yearly crossovers that threatened to change everything but in the end changed almost nothing. I have always been a little curious to see how that crossover series ended. Nightmask and Starbrand are two here's from the really boring New Universe comics line from I think '86. Nice to see them resurrected as such interesting characters.
