I've tried to find articles or links that describe adenomyosis and myometrial heterogeneity as cirrhosis of the uterus! please add links if you can. Myometrial heterogeneity is simply an indication of adenomyosis! adeno= gland Myo= Muscle sis=process./ increasing of / increasing in the mass muscle of the uterus as a result of penetraion of endometrium glands into myometrium! and the vascularity is an indication of the bleeding in the myometrium that occurs during and between periods in addition to the regular period . simply: Endometrium sheds every cycle and also the ones that moved to the myometrium as well! Adenomyosis is similar to endometriosis but local within the uterus, whereas endometriosis can be found anywhere in the abdominal cavity. If on the ovaries, it is called chocolate cysts because the cysts contain dark old blood . commonly, both are found together ! Hysterectomy is the only definitive way to confirm adenomyosis ! The heavier the uterus becomes, the more the uterine prolapse increases. medications might ease symptoms, but the only cure is Hysterectomy!
I couldn't find a medical article that describes Adenomyosis as Cirrhosis of the Uterus!! This is insane! cirrhosis is a totally different disease of a liver!
combination of this heterogeneity and the subendometrial echogenic nodular and linear striations is not dissimilar to the appearance of chronic liver parenchymal disease - hence, "cirrhosis of the uterus ..radiopedia
