Played several games with these and can honestly say they are my favorite team. Fast, stealthy, specialized. The Dvorgite Skinner shreds anything that likes to clump up, and the Long-sight completely locks down lanes and objectives from the backfield. Call the Kill is a reliable way to make the 4+ to hit a little less painful. Especially when trying to focus down an enemy gunner or specialist. Love the models and have even played them in a game of 40k!
I don't actually think they're supposed to be a melee Kill Team. Only a few (Cut-Skin, Stalker, and Hounds) operatives have dedicated melee weapons, while several others have good ranged weapons, and with Rogue, you're more comfortable in shoot-outs. They're less melee-oriented than Kommandos, and we know Kommandos aren't *that* melee-oriented to begin with. So 3 attacks base makes *some* sense, though I agree that 4 attacks would be much nicer.
Also hilarious that the kroot are good against 7 wound models… and the navy has 7 wounds… unless you exploit the biggest balance issue with the navy and make them minimum 8 wounds….. WOOOMP WOMMMMP
I'm genuinely excited by the models, but the weak profiles are interesting. It feels a bit like Corsair Voidscarred - you're mostly going to be avoiding fighting if you can, and having CP to steal objectives and run off clucking.
Kroot, the guns for hire that are bird people with nods to Predator aliens and cool worlds with cool beasts. Best friends with the tau. Love them I'll be making this kill team if nothing else just to have them/play fun games. Heck I'd be thinking off adding them to other games XD. At worse dnd spell jammer.
Prey strategic ploy is not that bad as you can choose whether your weapon has this rule for an activation or not. Sometimes, when you don't need to move but would like like to make more reliable shot - why not?
Yes. Especially considering that two of the weapons (bow and sniper) already have benefits from shooting without moving. Giving them a re-roll would be nice.
Just picked them up today. My first ever Warhammer anything. Wanted the Kasrkin but these guys were #2 on my list and the local shop didn't have any kasrkin. Excited to build, paint, and play soon
I think that they are a very versatile team which can support various startegies based on their opponent. Their stats maybe have been nerfed because they have a lot of possibilities to stack rerolls or get auto-successes. If they all had 4 attacks in melee that went up to 5 for everyone they would be probably too good, what i don't get is the cap to 4 attacks but that will be easy to remove if needed.
As someone that has been playing Wyrmblade, which basically has that on Cult Agents, it’s honestly really good. It makes a team with bad saves have armor comparable to Marines. It isnt absolutely amazing or anything, but now your opponent has to factor in that you WILL be blocking two shots every attack. It can go a long way.
I don't think they have ever gotten kroot right. I'm a pretty fanatical kroot player in both killteam editions. I would really like to know who the play testers were and did they ever touch a kroot team before testing them?. I think it's rough paying CP for things that they should have anyway.. but I will play them at least once a week.
Absolutely! Don't think they will see any competitive play and even with casual games there will just be way too many feel bad moments. Like you'll make a good play and have the potential to take out a big threat and you'll just completely wif the roll. Maybe they'll get a buff one day.
this team is kinda disappointig very boring special abillity and ploys and all of their stats are so weird, it really feels like they were nerfed after testing by giving them all -1 attack in melee and -1 to hit in shooting, but why would they do that, there is really no point in why they are so bad at shooting and have so few attacks, this team really isnt that strong so why do that with the stats?

@@morzorkatvfm They are more of a tricky shooting team with *some* capacity in melee. Kinda like a horde version of Phobos I feel.

the carbine is needed to use the photon grenade for the broker, everyone is missing this haha
He did say this.
must have missed that, sorry!

Oooh nice, hope you have fun with them!

Photon Grenade requires the Pulse Carbine, so that's the reason you take it.
My hopes are that the Rogue ability is maybe better than we think :x

"Pros: You get a bird."
Sold.
It's a good bird
It's interesting watching this in 2024, now the dataslates finally caught up with 90%+ of your initial reservations about the team.

How would you update this given the balanced dataslate?
Probably wait a bit to see if the changes stick
Just bought them 🤞 hopefully they are not as bad as you make them sound 😂
They're really good now haha
Feels like they got beat with the nerf bat super hard...
I wanna see what they looked before, must have been super broken 🤣😭

why cant you show which gun is the pulse rifle..
It's pretty obvious? But yeah it's the long Tau rifle
