No matter what, I really appreciate the use of circle hooks ! They are effective and the more import thing, prevents deep hook setting and usually result in a corner of the mouth pin - so if it's a bycatch or an illegal fish to keep or just unwanted - release it back with minimal harm ! Only keep what you are allowed to and that you can eat - the rest belongs back to the sea where they belong !
Thank you for your service! Afghanistan Veteran here as well. My brother tuned me in to your channel today. Starting with the flounder video you made. I’ve been watching through them. The details you go into are crucial to the most us. You ever need a tag along, I just live up the road! Thanks for the videos & God Bless.
Really enjoy your Mom and you fishing together. Great fishing content and the sound of waves and beach and sun and sea oats, it's like the viewer is there! Thanks and may God continue to bless your Mom and you by His grace with many more adventures.
Your Mom is a fishing machine. Exactly the same scenario with my oldest son. He always out fishes me because I am too busy rigging his rod and tending to the gear. It is great to fish with someone you love. You are a good son. Stay humble.
It's spring time Michigan we hook into Steelhead big trout in rivers and suckers and the pike, bass, small mouth bass, walleye, pearch spawn about the same time around Michigan.
Good on ya brother that's so cool I really miss fishing with my dad may he rest in peace. But I don't remember ever fishing with my mum, being from Australia it never ceases to amaze me how we call some fish by the same name and others are completely different names but I've never seen a robin fish before that was a cool looking little critter. Well done mate!
Speaking of rays... I had a bit of a chuckle in Gulf Shores the other day. Rays were schooling around and every time they came by people fled en masse like Jaws was coming. I tried to tell them, as well as my kids, that you're fine as long as you don't step or lay on one, but nobody was having it. I guess it's all in what you're used to. I'll be out, probably where you're standing in this video in a few weeks, seeing what I can't snag out of the surf. Cheers from MS.
Great videos man. I'm here on the coast working this week. Hoping to do a little surf fishing. I've learned a substantial amount in the fee days since I found your content. Thank you.
Seriously theres a spot on fm I've been fishing for about 15 years and theres a blue herron there I call fred.... He really is different from the others and is old, broken, and weathered.
That was a nice pompano!! My 5 year old son caught a remora that was 34 in on his saltwater spin cast. Dang thing was almost as tall as him. They do feel weird stuck to your leg tho. Great video!!
Great just to get to the beach for whatevers out there. Tried a experiment using 3 rods,3 diff color fishbites. Rods switched about holders. I found the green more busy which I thought strange. Same next day.Went out on boat the other day and came across a wave of rays. There were hundreds. Sent the drone up to have a looksee and they were everywhere! Cousin got speked by a stinger recently. A big one. We took it home and ate it. SURPRISINGLY good. Honest.
I'm coming down from Ohio next week with my kids and can't wait to take them fishing in Salt water for the first time!! Were staying right across from the public beach so well be there alot! I'd like to buy my own rod that I can take turns with the kids on the shore and pier.... any suggestions on where to buy one locally to use for the week???
How do you pick a spot when fishing from the beach? It all looks the same! Is there anything you can look out for to prompt success or is it more a case of cast and wait?
As a Scuba diver, I know Red disappears fast underwater as little as 15-20 feet. I assume you are much shallower than that off the Gulf. Just a heads up for pink/red colors if deeper than that, they will look Blackish/Grey depending on the water. Honestly, after 40 feet of water, most colors start disappearing.
I will be fishing at gulf shores Bama in May, what would you recommend to catch some pompano, will you place a link in your response. I would assume the same rig works in fall that will work in spring? I would like to try some of your Bama Saltwater Surf Rig,
Bama Saltwater Pompano Rigs are now available on the new website: bamasaltwater.com
MoMA whupen on that head she’s a good fisher person

I think 'Bama Mama' should have her own fishing channel, she certainly kicked your butt !!

Well said Herb I couldn't agree more!

When you said “mom is doing pretty good” there was a shark in the background!
Son. You are BLESSED to be able to still fish with your mom. Keep that up! Love the channel.
That little flounder was awesome! Thanks for posting! See ya on the next one!

7:35 there’s a big fish in the background on a he left it’s a black shadow
Great video that was a beautiful flounder your mom caught. You need to do a catch clean and cook video on a remora that would be a cool video.

looked like a big fish right behind you just a few feet out at the 7:35 mark. or it could just be my bad eyes

Love living on the Gulf Coast. Only place i ever lived where any time you step outside and don’t sweat you refer to it as a cold front 😂👍🏼.
At 7:34 there's a black silhouette of a fish I think above on the left of your shoulder. Wonder what that might be.
Lots of rays out there!
Hello to your mom! Great spot you chose to fish, shhh! Never is really that crowded

Great channel. Used to surf fish in the 80s with my PawPaw in Gulf Shores.
Awesome video. I will be there Saturday and staying for 2 weeks. Can't wait to do some surf fishing!
Try packing shrimp in a jar with table salt. It dries them out and makes them tougher so they stay on the hook longer.
Great fishing video with some nice fish
Seriously theres a spot on fm I've been fishing for about 15 years and theres a blue herron there I call fred.... He really is different from the others and is old, broken, and weathered.
I love your mom fishing with you. Awesome.
That wasn’t a Gulf or southern flounder. Was that a summer flounder(think that’s what they are called)?
That was a nice pompano!! My 5 year old son caught a remora that was 34 in on his saltwater spin cast. Dang thing was almost as tall as him. They do feel weird stuck to your leg tho. Great video!!
As a person who lost my Mom a few years back, this video is the best one ever
You have an excellent channel. I don’t understand why you don’t have more subscribers.
Appreciate it! Just gotta share these videos and channel and get it out ! Thanks for watching !
I didn't realize I hadn't subscribed. Just did it.
Surf fishing has to be one of my favorite types of fishing..

Is that a big ass fish to his right? Y'all see that big gray thing in the water?
Are the rays still there by the hundreds like they were a couple weekends ago? I’d never seen anything like it
Same time every year they group up in the surf. It’s cool to watch in clear water.
Hate we can’t get together and fish this week. We tried fort Morgan by the dock last night
How do you pick a spot when fishing from the beach? It all looks the same! Is there anything you can look out for to prompt success or is it more a case of cast and wait?

We're fishing in about 2-3ft clear water. they can see it good.
howdy! do you use a shock leader with your spin rods? thanks!
I don't use any shock leader, I normally run a loose drag initially to "make up" for the lack of stretch in braid.
I will be fishing at gulf shores Bama in May, what would you recommend to catch some pompano, will you place a link in your response. I would assume the same rig works in fall that will work in spring? I would like to try some of your Bama Saltwater Surf Rig,
