One finds pleasure to have sweet little dream, but when such dream ends with nightmare then all good feelings immediately turn so bitter that one wonders why such a dream has appeared at all in the first place. Division of Bengal whether or not we like it becomes a reality. Religion, nation, ethnic identity etc. after all are myth (Sapiens - A brief history of humanity by Yuval Noah Hariri). When influence of one myth overwhelms the other, then it brings unhappiness, resulting to violence. Bangladesh is predominantly Muslim by population (90%) whether West Bengal, Assam, Tripura are having predominantly Hindu population. Since, even today myth of religion is stronger, such separation is somewhat good, despite having some awkward situation (as one may think). Unification is possibly only when the myth of religious affiliation vanishes from minds and hearts of everybody belongs to same linguistic group. Again we are talking about another myth here.

It was not the same before 1947. Negativity was created due to various reasons very recently. Previously it was not like that. There is rivalry because now it is two different countries. There would be no rivalries when it is one. It will change many social views gradually. Now people in both parts have become fanatical. However, over time it can be secular as before. This concept clearly gives me an indication that due to British regime, artificial demarcations were created on a land to break harmony among people who look alike with similar language, dressing style and food habits just in the name of religion. Not only Bihar, Orisha Chatisghar, Jharkhand are located in Bengal or Ganges delta basin but all those places historically comprised a single nation through out the Bengal / Ganges delta civilization since the Neolithic age. As a Bengali, i don't support the idea of United Bengal! Because if it gets united in present time, than there would be many religious, economic & political tensions! If west Bengal joins Bangladesh, still the majority will be muslim, and the peaceful community doesn't supports peace. Not everyone is violated, but everyone is also not peaceful! If there is good, there are evils too. So let it remain what it is. We also no need for any separation, as Bangladesh(east Bengal) was also once a part of India or we say "Bharatvarsh" India is also 100 times developed than Bangladesh, so why would we put our economic at risk by separation? You cannot include Assam Sikkim arunachal meghalaya nagaland and mizoram into this country as they have nothing to do with bengal at all.
