    "Overpriced" is so subjective. I think it is - as you say - is it within your budget, does it work for your skin, and finally, if it is a bit pricey, do you enjoy it? One may find $4 cleanser which works well, feels good on the skin, and has an enjoyable scent. But a $4 cleanser that does not work, leaves the skin tight/stripped feeling is also perceived as overpriced. I love my Chanel Hydra Beauty Micro Essence. By most "scientific" type reviews - it has no benefit. But I love it. so I don't really care if it is doing nothing. I love the feel and the scent - so to me, I don't feel it is overpriced. I've not tried these products, so cannot really comment on if they are "overpriced" - but this is just my take on the concept of overpriced.

    Oh, the most expensive product I have tried was Elemis Pro-Collagen Overnight Matrix and I was disappointed. :( I felt it was a waste of money at $230.00 for 1.6 OZ / 50 ML. I regretted that purchase. Had I to do it over I would have been much happier with these Chanel Sublimage line products!

    I love the samples of Sublimage that I have tried. I would like to try the two products you like and are recommending. Yes, Sublimage is very expensive. If you have the budget for it...I would try it / buy it. But if not there are great Chanel alternatives that are less expensive. I am enjoying your channel Angela. :)

    Hello Angela, Good day! My all time favourite travel make up remover is Chanel sublimage essential comfort cleanser. I don’t know what is the difference between the cleanser and the new L'Huile-en-Gel de Démaquillage. Looks very similar base on your demonstration. I love the Cleanser so much so I have ordered SUBLIMAGE Les Grains de Vanille without trying it. So glad that you have gave positive review.

    The oil in gel cleanser I will definitely try, very happy you reviewed it. The gel with the exfoliating seeds are not my thing, I much prefer a gommage for that purpose. I know Chanel makes a gommage,but I’ve been using the YonKa one for years and love it. Love your lip colour today, so very pretty Angela 💗

    Hi Angela, the eye cream is absolutely worth the money, a few years ago it was around $250 bananas😬unfortunately most of the masses can’t afford nothing from that line!

      Hello :) To be honest I don't approve these crazy prices of skincare products. (Sublimage, La Mer, Sisley). It' true that there are some really good products but the prices are completely unjustified. It's like gold in a jar... lol I like testing luxurious skincare but I also think that sometimes brands go crazy with the prices.

    The cleanser is intriguing. I may try it this Winter. My most expensive product is the Sisley masks. I have 3: black rose, velvet sleeping and the eye mask. They are excellent quality although when I think that is almost $500 USD in just masks, I feel a little foolish. They are fantastic though.

    Thanks for the video. I have tried a few sublimage products like the ultra rich cream and the foundation. I found them quite rich but not worth the extra money personally. I have been using oil cleansers now for years and will never go back to a regular cleanser. I used Shu Umera for years then I switched to the Chanel cleansing oil and I find it works for me. Plus I get a 20% off for seniors at my local store so this is even less expensive than my Shu Umera. I am sure the oil cleanser from sublimage is a lot more and I cannot justify the extra cost if the regular Chanel does the trick for me. I would then rather spend the extra on a night cream . I too would pass on micellar water, my bioderma irks well for me. Have you tried the Sidley velvet sleeping mask? Omg it is so lovely . Wear a thin layer before bed and I also use the Sisley eye mask to bed and your skin is heavenly after that. The black rose mask is also lovely . Omg I could go on and on .

    Good review, i use the older version of " l'huile en gel " since years. Really my favourite makeup remover ! Guerlain used to have a similar product ( at a much lower price ) but discontinued now with the same results.
    I just wanted to say that Sublimage L'huile en gel is only a makeup remover, not a cleanser. You should use the soap ( wich is soapless ) after it for a complete cleansing ritual.
    I didn't tried it yet but if you do one day just tell me what do you think about it.

    I really appreciate how you demonstrated how the products work on your hand and also that you show the ingredients on screen. I always research ingredients before I buy a product.
    The Chanel Sublimage Mask is very good, but maybe not as good as the Darphin Stimulskin Plus Mask (my #1 favorite) or the Dior Prestige Rose Mask (#2). Nevertheless, all three are excellent and in the same price range (in Canada).

    I have the gel cleanser, eye cream & have testers of the face cream. I have not tried the scrub. I also have the micellar water and agree with you it’s good but if you have better ones I should try the bioderm. I go in between Chanel & Sisley skincare both are expensive. I am interested in seeing your video of what you think of the rest of the Chanel Sublimage skincare line. I like the face cream I’m not sure if worth the price tag but I’m running out of my testers. 😄

      Hello Lora :) I feel like I'm always following closely the sublimage line. I rarely purchase products because it's too pricey. There are some very good products but overall it's a very overpriced skincare line. I wish it was a bit more affordable because there are some products that I really like. xoxo

    I think you were asking about the Sisley skin care a few videos back. I tried a jar of the Cucumber Moisturizer. It’s definitely a bit much for my dry skin while it’s still warm & humid, so I think it will be too heavy for your skin. Look for something lighter.
    I just got a few samples of the Chanel. Haven’t tried them yet, but I think the entire Sublimage line is simply too expensive. I’ll use some of the Hydra, & love the Camellia but there are too many good skin products that cost far less. I’d rather buy the makeup.

    Thanks for the review! Speaking of Sublimage, I just started using the eye cream. Unfortunately, the counter where I’m from does not have samples, so I bought it without trying it before, and I think I made a big mistake. It actually tingles when I apply it (not in an acid way, it kind of feels ticklish itchy that I have to give my eye area a quick scratch). I am trying to experiment with it and apply less and it seems to be working better for me that way, but so far, I feel like it’s not going to be a repurchase for me. I think it’s too strong, or maybe just not for me. Do you have an experience with the Sublimage eye cream?

    • @Frenchforaday
      @Frenchforaday  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello :) That sounds very unpleasant. It's such an expensive products... and I hate it when Chanel counters say that they don't have samples. They must have. I've used Sublimage eye cream and I didn't have any problem with it but it didn't make any difference. It's definitely not one of my favorites. I suppose the itchy feeling might be caused by the vanilla planifolia extract. It can be irritating for a lot of people. Probably you skin reacts to this or one of the other ingredients.

    • @rm6700
      @rm6700 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Angela van Rose thank you for your reply Angela! It’s unfortunate that it didn’t even work for you, especially given its price, but it’s great to know that at least it doesn’t make your eye area any worse. At least i would feel at ease when continue to use it; too expensive to waste and it is quite moisturizing anyway. This turned me off Chanel when it comes to high end skincare - i agree that it is inexcusable for something so expensive to not have samples. It made me learn a lesson to never buy something so expensive without giving it a good try out first.

    What i hate the most about Chanel skin care its the perfume and and alcohol content. I love the make up and perfume from Chanel but not the skin care. The only one i use its the chanel l' huile demaquillante ( with perfume again😐). I love Bioderma and La Roche Possay and i think its better than Chanel. Sorry for my english. If I added up the numerous skin care products I’ve purchased over the last few years, from drugstore to department store (but not up to the luxury price point), I’ve spent far too much. And I say that because what makes the biggest difference in my skin’s appearance? My diet and drinking enough water. Until I fix my diet and drink enough water, my skincare is not doing a lot for me!
