    I would like to see and learn about the history and evolution of this type of ride. I know it's one of the oldest rides around. If you are able to do that yeah!

    These were initially hand powered. The steam engine made it possible no only to revolve the machine and make the horses "jump", but to move the entire amusement from city to city. Later on electric motors were used. Even the carving of the animals were done with duplicating machines. Master carvers would do the finish work. Great video of the SOUL of the Mid way, themed park, or wherever one of these marvelous machines call home. Why even malls have them.

    I grew up going to this park, and Great America was my first job. I am sad that it's going to close in a few years :(

    It's actually tied with its twin in Illinois as the tallest
