Lol I'm a blue belt in this art form and some of the guys in the video actually taught me I studied it from around 1994 to 2001 I got a first place and second place meddles in the competition they ran. It's nice to see this video and a few other I've found.
Ed Parker Kenpo is an entirely different system. I have trained in Parker's American Kenpo for 30 years so if you have any questions about it I'd be happy to help :)
More like aikijujutsu. Aikijujutsu was the father of kempo(kenpo or various Kenpo styles), jeet kune do, aikido, hapkido, yaw yan, silat, hakko ryu jujutsu, hokuto jujutsu and even mma.

Shorinji Kempo is Japanese, not Indian. You can say there are Indian roots and influences, but there are also Chinese roots too, along with techniques mixed from Karate. Shorinji Kempo is a Japanese system with a Japanese structure, but draws from a mix of other martial arts, which pretty much defines Kempo in general.
Indian influences went to China and mixed with Chinese arts. Those then traveled to Okinawa and became Karate. Karate then went to Japan (and then to Korea to become Tang Soo Do). Kempo is a mix of Chinese and Japanese arts (often other arts mixed in). Shorinji Kenpo is Japanese with influences from other cultures.

Great Class
U trained in lambeth youth classes and adults in Brixton before I stopped at age 14 started at 7
Special times. 🙏
Does this have as many belt requirements as Ed Parker’s version?
I practice,kempo with afriend in tawau, 4 4years.
The belts go white, yellow, orange, green, blue, brown then black. There are 10 different black belts enough for a lifetime of training

Shorinji kenpo karate is similar to aikido in some moves
More like aikijujutsu. Aikijujutsu was the father of kempo(kenpo or various Kenpo styles), jeet kune do, aikido, hapkido, yaw yan, silat, hakko ryu jujutsu, hokuto jujutsu and even mma.
Doshin So was trained in traditional jujutsu then hakko ryu jujutsu(which is the offshoot and descendant of aikijujutsu)

Shorinji kenpo is Indian. Not Japanese
Shorinji was brought to Japan. The Japanese taught the Chinese. In Japanese, Shorinji is called "shaolin"
