I would like to make just a SLIGHT correction on something that was said at the beginning of the video when he is mentioning charging - if you turn it on, and it is flashing blue and red, that means it is not connected to the TX (transmitter). Had he plugged in the TX to the phone or computer, it would have immediately turned blue. That is NOT to say that it did not need charging. Best practice is, regardless if the device came pre-charged in the packaging, you should always fully charge it before first use. I just wanted to clarify that for everyone, that those flashing lights do NOT mean it needs a charge, it just means it is not connected to the transmitter. I hope that helps.

Mine is constantly flashing blue and red even when I have the thing plugged into my phone. Idk if I’m not charging it right or what is going on because when I plug it in to charge its still flashing blue and red. I tried to plug the mig into the receiver thing and charge them both together and idk how to tell if it’s charged or even workeing

Thanks for watching! Great suggestion. It was basically plug in play. All I had to do was go to GarageBand>Settings>Audio>Devices and make sure the input/output was set to the wireless mic and computer. I did the same things on my Mac settings as well. Just made sure the audio input/output settings were correct. As for the sound levels, I just used a basic audio track with no effects. Super raw, but it got the job done. Hope that helps!

I just purchased this today - the NC is amazing when turned on - saw another demo of guy standing next to a busy road he turned on NC and all the car noise disappeared- can’t believe how cheap this is and the quality sound quality is amazing

@@Omaryousfi-of6iywhat are u talking about - the receiver doesn’t have a battery to charge - the usb port in the receiver is used to charge the phone while the receiver is connected - did u not read your instructions??

My laptop does not have usb type c for the receiver. Can you get an adapter cable for this? Would it be usb c female to usb a male? The ones I see seem to say they are only for charging devices.

I bought their 2 pack set BY-V20. Both of the mics are really quiet and I have to boost gain by 12dB in Audacity to get a reasonable volume. How much gain did you add in your example?

Hi, I'm planning to buy this mic but I saw from one shop that for those phones with a 3.5mm audio jack, this device won't work. Can you enlighten us with what it means? Or does it really mean I cannot use this mic if the phone I am using has 3.5mm audio jack?

Just got this. Can I just unplug the transmitter from the mobile devices?
I realise that when the transmitter is plugged in, I cannot listen to the recordings. I have to unplug it to listen. But because I worry it may affect the mobile device, I chose to totally shut down, unplug it and restart again.

Hi! Thanks for watching. No, you have to keep it plugged in to the device in order to use it. Unfortunately, I don't think you can monitor the recording while your recording on a mobile device.

Would the the usb c work if your phone has a case on it or does the phone case need to be taken out?

But for one question, I don't get an answer.
Can I also use it with the phone's voice recorder, or does the microphone only work during video recording?
Because I currently have a microphone with a jack plug, but the phone's voice recorder does not pick up the sound.
Hi! Thanks for watching! I wasn't able to use this version of the mic with my phone because I have an iPhone that uses an lighting connector. However, when I tested the lighting version of this mic with my iPhone, it worked with the "voice recorder" app on my phone.

At least I think the Macbook Air 2017 uses USB-C. Do you know what type of ports your Macbook has?
@@blogwithben there are two usb 3.0 ports, one 3.5mm jack port, port for card read, charging and one other port having ‘lightning type arrow symbol’ i don’t know its terminology.

If you have a converter, you should be able to use this mic, but I haven't tried it so I can't be 100% sure. Also, I've never used ULANZI J12, so I can't comment on the difference between it and Boya. However, I like Boya and it was very easy to set up.

Hi! Thanks for watching! Yes you can, but it depends on your method of recording. For example, I'm using Garageband to record my audio and there is a setting where I can monitor my recording via my computer. Does that make sense?

How do you charge the receiver?
Hi! Thanks for watching and great question. It's the same as the mic. There is a USB-C port in the side of it. You can plug the charging cable in it and charge the receiver that way.

BUT IS IT BETTER QUALITY THAN BOYALINK?
Hey! Thanks for watching! I've never used the BOYALINK, but from what I can tell the BOYALINK is a "higher-grade" product that these wireless mics. These are probably entry-level mics compared to the BOYALINK which seem to be more professional grade. However, I still got some great sound quality from the wireless mic in this video.
