Andrea, your spun yarn has come out absolutely stunning. I can't wait to see it knit up. Also, on a side note, love your studio/office. It looks like it is set up perfectly for endless creativity. Have you ever done a tour of it? Just wondering. Keep up the great podcast. Have a great week.
If you take that ring to a jeweler, they can probable repair the prong so that it doesn't snag anymore. I've just started watching these videos and I'm really enjoying them.
Andrea I admire your patterns so much. I just found you about six months ago on you tube. I am knitting several of your shawl patterns and would like to do more. I have also been knitting a lot of socks for Christmas presents. I have learned so much from you and some others on you tube. Thanks so much for all your dedication.
Andrea I just love your videos, you are my Friday Fix!!😆 I would love to knit your recently spun yarn....the colours are to die for. Looking forward to seeing what you make from it. Thank you again for continuing to spend time with us. Happy weekend! xx
Look forward to your video every Friday. Today TH-cam ran ads 3 or 4 times- seemed odd. Thankful for the ability to skip. Loved your yarn! Can't wait to see what you make with it.
Hi Andrea, I love your designs! I bought your Douglas Cardi instructions but I'm a bit lost regarding the pockets.... Can you please suggest a tutorial where i can watch a similar pocket construction? Thank you so much!
I knit your satellite shawl and absolutely love it. It was such a fun knit and my second brioche project so completely encourage anyone who wants to knit it. I used the same yarn and color way as you. Thanks for a wonderful pattern!
Hi Andrea your hand spun yarn is gorgeous. I just started knitting your cinnabar shawl and am loving it. Thank You so much for these weekly podcasts I learn so much from you and love them so much.
Hi Andrea! I’m just finishing your throwback cardi, I’m super happy with it, and I just love to watch your channel with so interesting info every week, thanks for this knitters space! ❤️
I love your videos! I started watching as I had a knitting question and someone sent me your video. Then I realized you're a designer so I had to check it out and fell IN-LOVE with the bean and olive kid sweater. That flew off my needles. But other than the knitting, I just want to say you are such a calming presence. Like your whole vibe is just so great and I look forward to watching every Friday. Thank you so much for these videos and helping to keep me connected in my knitting community!
Love your videos. Thank you for sharing. Feel like I always learn something new or hear a new perspective. You also got me out of a knitting rut of just knitting to keep up with misc. gifts and requests. I'm starting a new project for me! And learning one color brioche through it. :)
A couple weeks ago you said you thought two color brioche was easier and that really briocheis not that hard. So I cast on my first brioche hat last night and it's amazing! So thank you for making it sound attainable to do.
You may have already attempted this but just in case you haven’t, I’m fairly certain a jeweler would be able to adjust the prong of your ring so that it’s more flush to the stone.
Thank you for all of the information you share. I have started to make sure I have a pen and paper near me when I watch these as there is so much information I need to take notes. I was wondering when you started these as I only see them starting at around episode 14 ( I think) and I would like to see them all if that is possible. PS I just purchased the Douglas Cardi pattern and am having fun trying to figure out which colours I would like to use.
Hi Andrea! I recently broke my neck and dominant wrist when I was thrown from a horse (I WILL be okay!) and I'm missing knitting terribly. I have several of your patterns and yarn waiting to be knit. I'm bored out of my mind but your "I'll knit if I want to" episodes are helping weekly. I totally loved knitting "Night Shift" and would love it if you'd demonstrate how to wear it. Thanks so much for keeping me entertained. Looking forward to watching you next week!
Oh my goodness Barb! That sounds terrible (both the experience of being thrown of a horse, breaking bones and not being able to knit anymore). I wish you a speedy recovery! Melanie
I so love your channel! Is there a course, books or materials that you feel helped you to wrap your head around designing clothes for several sizes? I was taught how to knit by my Irish MIL in 2003, I’ve been addicted to it since. I really want to design and sell patterns, but I’m so afraid I’ll fail. Can you share how you decided to take the plunge at it and help direct me please!! Thank you for your time…
Love your podcast! What do you call your beautiful yarn you showed on the last question. I am looking for some but just don’t know what to call it. Thanks so much!
I love seeing your knitting bags. I couldn't imagine what you would use. The "entertainment" bag I use, carries my Ipad and knitting project. I have discovered the need for it to stand on it's own without collapsing shut. Now I see the canvas of your two are both tightly structured enough to stand and not allow knitting needles to come through. AHA! Is the big hank of twisted double strand multicolor yarn you just finished going to be one big ball? Show us your work in progress so we can see the evolution. Oh. Did you record the twisting process? I'd like to see it. Any time yarn is slithering through hands onto or into something, I'm happy. Thanks.
Question: Could you talk about using a yarn of a different weight than is called for in a pattern? (tips/tricks/downfalls) I'd like to make the Throwback and/or the Throwover using DK yarn that I have in my stash. This happens a lot to me and I've seen other podcasters who substitute yarn in a pattern and make it seem like such a simple process but it scares me! Thank you for all of this great content.
Hi Liz, I regularly substitute yarn in a pattern and find that making a swatch is key. This way, not only can you check what needles you will need to het gauge, but you can also check to see if you will get the type of fabric that you are after. Melanie
Question. Firstly I love your podcast and look forward to it every week. So inspirational. My question is how often do you knit?, and how long does it take you to knit a garment?. It seems to take me such a long time to get a garment finished. Do you have any tips to make my knitting faster. I am an English style knitter. Also do you have a number of WIPS on the go at the same time or do you work on one garment before starting another. Thank you
So excited to dig into that short rows class - it's definitely something that is a bit intimidating for me (or at least never looks quite right when I do it haha) extremely random question but do you have the info on the chair that is in the background with the metal frame/legs? It looks super cute and comfy
?? How do you decide what type of join to use i.e. sweater sides or sleeve , when the knit structure is different i.e. Pattern work to stockinette or stockinette to purl work??? I hope this is clear!
Hi there, enjoying your podcast every time. Question… I wont to knit “find your fade” shawl” now I have two balls off degradee.. one whit red , one with grey (both 800meters) how shall I use them? start with the red or grey and dan carry on with the leftover color or alternate? please help me??? thanks
Hi Mieke, I would personally start with one yarn and then later on use the second one. The Find Your Fade Shawl is very large, it will be much more pleasant to knit if you don't have to alternate. Have a nice day! Melanie
You are one of my favorite designers. I'm currently swatching for your Pink Velvet pattern with some of my hand dyed yarn. I love how your plied yarn came out and am looking forward to seeing it knit up. I'm looking forward to seeing your next pattern release. I tend to knit fingering or dk weight sweaters as I live in southern AZ where our winters are mild.
Love your podcast. I am knitting my third sweater and I have been knitting my gauge swatch as a sweater for my poodle. Have a question about embroidering edges on knitting. Pattern says :With CC1 and using the tubular k1p1 ribbed method, BO all sts. With CC1 on a tapestry needle, neatly embroider faux sts of neckband so CC1 trim appears to flow uninterrupted. Not sure about which stitch to use and my first attempt looked rugged with inadequate coverage. Any ideas?
It seems like we are all obsessed with project bags. And, whatever bag someone else has is the one you want. Thanks for sharing info. Was that Hide and Hammer #03 or #04?
Thank you for keeping this series going; I’m learning a lot even though I’ve been knitting for many years. I’ve recently knit Suska’s socks, and will be planning a Cinnabar shawl soon.
love the weekly podcats! thank you...question, I avoid patterns with charts because I don't really know how to best figure them out? do you have a system? enlarge them? use a clipboard? read them right to left? seems odd? use tape? thank you!
Hello 😸 love watching and learning from your podcast. I have a business question. I have so many ideas for patterns but I’m not sure how to even start down that path. Do you have any recommendations for making patterns and charts? Do you use any specific programs or apps that you like better than others?
I love the barett hair piece you are wearing. It looks like knit or crochet. Did you make it? If so, would you share the pattern? If you bought it, could you say where? It's lovely for one who loves yarn.
I really enjoy your videos each week. Sometime in the last few weeks though they have started having ad breaks every five minutes so it feels like as soon as you really get into an answer it jumps to an ad. I know the monetize settings are adjustable and just didn’t know if you knew how often ads were playing on your videos.
Thank you for these videos! I have thoroughly enjoyed your patterns over the past few years. Did you say you use that first project bag when you knit and walk!? I can’t even imagine doing that. How do you do that? Thank you again! :-)
Hey Andrea, Love your patterns and podcasts! I have a question: when knitting 2 colour brioche in the round I make a total mess of things at the yarn change. Is there a particular way to get this right? Thanks for all the great advice : )
QUESTION: Have you ever had a knitting injury -- or a repetitive use injury. I am suffering through it right now and the one major suggestion is rest from knitting. It could take days, weeks, or months. How do you prevent injuries. I do have an appointment with an occupational therapist for exercises to help ease my discomfort. Thank you for your podcast and time.
I haven't from knitting, but did develop carpel tunnel as a baker. For knitting I have found that switching up my knitting style (the hand that I hold the yarn in) really helps! I also take frequent rests and stretch my hands and forearms. I hope you heal quickly
@@dreareneeknits I already love it ! Can’t wait , am doing your weekender and Pink Fizz now! Love all your designs, thank you, oh and BTY.... you are adorable!!
Thanks so much for the shout out for the short row class, delighted that you enjoyed it 😁
I got to try the "mohair in the freezer" trick this week. It worked perfectly.
I learn something every Friday! Thank you.
I love your patterns and these weekly videos. I have been knitting for years and I still learn something new every week.

Right? It was over top today. I had 6 ads in Andrea’s 29 min video. Love your Grandpa Doug cardi Andrea!

Is your hide and hammer a size 4? (It's larger than their size 3.)

Is the hide and hammer bag, a small one or large size
Questin: why does a pattern call for reversed stockinette stitch, and not just purl stitch? (Before I venture into the weekender light 😊)
Hi! It's because most knitters prefer to knit, rather than purl, so this way, it minimizes the time spent purling! Good luck it's a great sweater!
Watching and casting on Evenfall - great way to start my day 😊
Je n'arrive pas à activer les sous titre en français 😔. J'aimerais tellement vous comprendre. J'adore votre travail ❤
Love, love, love your plied yarn!! They are such happy colors. You should market it. I would definitely buy it. :)

Hey Andrea, Love your patterns and podcasts! I have a question: when knitting 2 colour brioche in the round I make a total mess of things at the yarn change. Is there a particular way to get this right? Thanks for all the great advice : )
The most important thing is to always drop the color from the previous round to the front!
When I was blocking my sweater I wondered how you block your cardigans. Do you button or leave the front open?
I button them up or lay the fronts with the 2 edges just touching each other ;)
Good morning from Gorham - love your handspun - it turned out great 😊
Thank you Natasha!
I love shadow wrap short rows. Coco knits has a great video showing how to do them!
A local jeweler with a repair department can easily fix the prong on that ring.
Definitely do it because a misaligned prong could lead to the stone falling out
Great video thank you very informative 🙂

Thank you Gail!
Prong…a jeweler can fix that lickety-split! You also don’t want to risk losing the stone that is set in the ring.
Can’t wear Pandora bracelets. Always snag.
Why don’t you write more patterns top down?
