  • I'll bet that was pretty fast. The truth is that I've received so many microgames from people, I've been able to make a third showcase now.
In the American version of WarioWare D.I.Y., the NinSoft Store stuff comes out on Mondays. Today's was released, but they're not on this showcase because I didn't have room for it. They will appear in Showcase #4. The microgames this time are:
    1. "Cross Bones" from Tom: This was Beer94's Design Challenge #1 entry in Europe. Its theme was Super Mario, which is pretty broad. This feels like a more complex verison of Steam Golem, but you're given extra time so it's doable.
    2. "Glowtacular!" from Jason Shcreiber, creator of Glow Artisan: I've never heard of Glow Artisan, and I don't know what else Schreiber has done. It does look like an honest attempt to make a microgame though, unlike some other Big Names who seem to just want to get it over with.
    3. "Pisa Tower" from Schmidt: Schmidt is a fantastic WarioWare D.I.Y. artist. It looks like he has a recurring motif of history. (You might recall the Viking one and the pyramid one from the previous showcase.) Is he doing a microgame set based on the past?
    4. "MARIO" from Elias: This looks like an experiment on how some of the movement features work than anything else. And the letter stamps.
    5. "Game Over" from RetroXNES: As you can see, this microgame is actually in Spanish. That's okay. Even if you don't know a word of Spanish, calling it "Game Over" is enough to make it easy to understand what needs to be done.
    6. "Nasal Pill" from Mostafa: And I thought suppositories are uncomfortable...Pretty on par with what WarioWare is like though.
    7. "Goombalooba" from Elias: I was a bit confused as to what was supposed to happen. Turns out you click on the Goombas to have Mario, Toad, or Princess Peach land on them. There's no sound effect to let you know something happened though, combined with the delay in seeing the Mario characters appear. Interestingly, you win the game when the last character appears, rather than him or her stomping on the Goomba.
    8. "OBJECTION" from Jack: I have an idea which Jack this is from--an acquaintance of mine from another site who doesn't have a TH-cam account. Another Phoenix Wright microgame, I think you're supposed to click when the "OBJECTION" sign appears. I can't be too sure though.
    9. "Collosseum" from Schmidt: An interesting concept, really, and one that would fit right in with Orbulon's IQ type microgames. It would be even more interesting if the soldiers at the top hid their candles so you'd have to memorize it.
    10. "Switcheroo" from PK: This is one of thise puzzles where flipping a switch causes other switches to be flipped. In this case, it's always the Mario Bro corresponding to the button, the one to the immediate right, and the one to the immediate left. That being said, it can still be quite bothersome if you make a mistake.
    11. "Fire Launch!" from Justin: This is a pretty chaotic design. I'm not sure what you're supposed to do because it's so chaotic, but it seems you click on the Fire Flower to get it to show up, then click on it at the right time to blow Wario away or uncover the other Mario.
    12. "Turnstyle" from Schmidt: Both trains can run on the same track, by the way.
    13. "Boss" from Justin: I think the idea here is to get the stick figure underneath the big guy and shoot a laser up to defeat it. The thing is that the lasers from our hero is programmed to go directly to the boss anyway so there's no need to run. Also, the button on the lower left is hard to click because much of it's not really there--you have to click on the black part to get it to work.
    14. "Fossil Flop" from the NinSoft Store: Turns out these are made by Intelligent Systems staff members. The fossil is large enough that it's fair, though it's kind of odd there has to be so much random clicking.
    15. "Braking News" from the NinSoft Store: If you're curious, you click the moment Wario's car leaves the trees in the background. This is easier said than done in faster speeds though, since Wario is driving so fast.
    16. "Aloha Oe" from Tom: He said he's going to be taking this back to fix it sometime. Personally, I think it needs some work in that you're asked to start pushing to the beat right away. "Dance Machine" in the Design Challenge winners gave you a 3-2-1 sort of countdown. There's also incredibly little room for error: If your timing isn't perfect, you lose.
    17. "Beauty Mask" from Mostafa: I presume that this princess is a character of Mostafa's, since I got some comics from Mostafa that feature this same person. (Just without the mask.) I'll bet that these masks are a turn-on for some people.
    18. "Bird & Beans" from PK: Oddly, Pyoro doesn't show up in the regular pre-made microgames here, which I think makes this the first time a WarioWare game is released with no Pyoro in sight.
