  • Microgames are what I receive the largest quantity of, and for good reason: They are the centerpiece, what WarioWare D.I.Y. was intended to do. So here's the fifth showcase of mine.
    1. "Continental" from Schmidt: The goal here is to start the trains in such a way that they collide where it says "WIN." This is based on the Continental Railroad, the first set of tracks to span across the USA from sea to sea. I don't know what the previous train one was based on.
    2. "Service DIY!" from Elias: This is a pretty simple concept. Pick up the phone when it rings. I'd bet this game would benefit greatly from a customer help center.
    3. "Dogpee" from Auke: This one is simple. Really, REALLY simple. I really hope this is still an experiment, but by now, I'd expect someone to make something more complicated than simply "click here to win." The engine is capable of far more.
    4. "Leaf Me!" from Mostafa: You may notice something odd about the timer in this microgame--this is the result of a hack that allows a player to make a boss-length microgame. Unfortunately, winning one does not result in a 1-Up, not do they occur at regular intervals. If this was the case, I would have totally programmed a boss microgame for the Pokémedley.
    5. "Hedge Trim" from Jack: That's a very odd looking hedge. Being surrounded by blue, it looks more like you're sinking parts of an island. The game is flawed in that you must click on the crosshairs to get the game to work. This means it's very very easy to miss.
    6. "Easy Life" from jack: This kind of looks like another microgame I've encountered previously, where you make Mario jump up to get it. The difference here is that there's no JUMP button. It seems Mario stops when he gets directly in front of the 1-Up, meaning the only way to lose this one is to let the timer run out.
    7. "Kill the cow" from Auke: Click on the gun to shoot the cow. That's basically it. C'mon, Auke, you can do better than that!
    8. "My Sun's Mad" from me: This was my submission for Design Challenge #5, which is themed on "Summer."
    9. "The real one" from Auke: This one is an improvement from Auke's previous microgames in that the level of complexity has increased beyond "click this to win," though it's still entirely guesswork your first (few) time(s) playing this. The shark is the one without any weird edges coming out.
    10. "Lunar Lander" from Schmidt: Continuing his theme of man-made monuments, this one, I presume is the Apollo 11 lander. The goal here is to hit the brakes so that the lander doesn't fall too quickly and crash. It would be better if this microgame made a sound effect upon you hitting the brakes, and it's not entirely clear where the surface of the Moon is as it's uneven.
    11. "Revenge" from Steve Thomason, editor at Nintendo Power: Click on the Goomba to launch a Bullet Bill at Mario. This is a step above "click here to win," though it has an interesting premise and Mario's dash across the screen essentially functions as a time limit. It can get pretty difficult when the microgames go quickly enough.
    12. "TITANIC" from Auke: Yep. Click on the Titanic to see it sink, and you win.
    13. "Pimple Panic" from Mostafa: Pop the pimples. It'd be fun if the piples showed up at random spots.
    14. "Antiestrés" from RetroXNES: The title is Spanish for "Anti-Stress." I guess that's what it was for, though I don't have any clue what's going on.
    15. "Stack'em Up!" from PK: This one is notable in that it's difficult, WAY overly so. There are seven layers to stack total, so the only way to win is to know you're playing this immediately. Even then, the slightest hesitation will cause you to lose.
    16. "Magic Couch" from Geo: The artwork in this one is quite interesting. It's also pretty easy to pick out what you'd need. So far, I've only seen bus fare and the remote, but I hope you get to pick the hot dog too.
    17. "Jelly Fishes" from Mostafa: The jelly fishes are the ones with the blue outline. I guess they're supposed to be like Swedish Fish.
    18. "King of town" from Elias: Hey, this one is just like the Urban Champion microgame from 9-Volt's set!
