Very good video, as to why it's a prosperous country well they,re many reasons beyond the US multinationals. Irish multinationals for a start most you wouldn't have heard of but are world leaders in their field. These include, CRH second largest building material supplier in the world and largest in north America, Kingspan insulation, Kerry group, Smurfit Westrock, Aercap just to name a few. Ireland is the world center for aviation leasing having started there with Guiness Peat Aviation 3 decades ago. It is the third largest financial center in the world for fund management with over 4 tn managed. Its also the second largest exporter of computer services and the seventh of pharmaceuticals in the world all of which contribute to its fiscal suscess as well as the aforementioned foreign multinationals.

One move from corporate giants based in Ireland to exit Ireland economy would have nose dive leaving it to shambles.
    Extremely weak base economy!

Very misleading chart at 00:35. Best to start with zero on the vertical axis.

If it’s just a tax haven, why aren’t other European countries with lower tax than Ireland, even richer than Ireland? Doesn’t make sense

Sounds more like a tax haven in disguise to me... I mean if you cut these multinationals out of it, what do they have left..?
What if someday these multinationals all leave to a new more tax advantageous place?
Small population countries in Europe tend to do better don't they? The Scandinavian countries, Switzerland, Luxembourg - what do you think... is there a relationship between high gdp and population size...?

It can be. Germany, UK, and France all have fairly high GDPs whereas smaller countries like Albania, Bosnia, Serbia, etc. are all very poor. Really it's a combination of things. Population is a factor for sure. Generally smaller countries are more urbanized than larger countries. Rural areas are often much poorer than urban areas, and the smaller the nation, the less rural population they have.

It has low corporate tax and companies definitely take advantage of this and but its not just brass plates. For example, its one of the biggest producers of pharma and medical devices in the world and has huge ICT sector for the countries size. Real stuff being produced and exported!

Not their own national wealth , foreign companies money .
Which is why irish people are leaving the country and cant afford living in it , they are not benefiting from this leprechaun economics , just experiencing how things get gradually more expensive .

No the population is actually growing. Irelands problem is housing once that’s sorted properly then we will see more growth.
