At 9:30 you say that there is not enough time to perform the finisher move but you‘re not supposed to finish them all while they‘re laying on the ground. Once you downed an enemy you‘re supposed to attack or counter an other enemy. That way you can build up a combo and perform even better finishers by combining different buttons

Yeah, it's always interesting to watch people who are new to the series experience the combat. It's so much better once you actually know what you are doing and understand it's kind of rhythmic.

You should destroy the Joker teeth with batarangs to gain more XP, and honestly I’ve never seen someone play this far and not buy the inverted takedown ability (for gods sake get that ability, it’s really good). I’m really enjoying the series tho! And my favorite part of the game is coming up next episode I think! :D
The original game holds up surprisingly well. Art, animation, and acting still pretty damn good.
I love this series, just a heads up. The henchmen are wearing security collars, when you take them out the collar goes off and Joker alerts the others. That is why Joker tells the other goons that someone is missing.
This game was so atmospheric, I wish I could play it again for the first time...

Make sure to upgrade yourself, you can also get upgrades to your health bar allowing you to get as much health as a boss battle would, it’s really helpful especially against armed thugs
Also, you don’t have to be close to do a finisher on someone, as long as you hit the button combo and move your stick in the direction of the guy you wanna take out Batman will lunge towards him
9:30 it will be a beautiful day when you finally master the combat, the more you play the more the game makes sense. Soon you'll realize you don't have to run at all. Feel the flow young grasshopper
Are you upgrading your skills? In those stealth sections, you should be able to string people up from the gargoyles…
The scanning doors was a good way to hide the level loading screens.
That was the Batman craze you had the dark Knight release in 2008 and you had Arkham asylum release in 2009 my goodness what a time to be a Batman fan

Batman Arkham Asylum is indeed one of the games of all time.
03:35 I don't know about asylum, but in other games, within a combo, you can throw a Quick Batarang with red traces on the last enemy and knocks him out in the spot, "Red" Batarangs happens when you throw the third one and knock the target down but not knock it out, this is only possible if it is the last enemy.
In Asylum it keeps the combo going, but doesn’t knock them out, unless you knock them into an electrified gate.
I like how as soon as they mentioned he had to fight killer croc, that's where he ended the video.
Interesting note, if you were to go looking around enough, you could have prevented Joker from killing the guard in the greenhouse. Been a while since I have played asylum, so I don't remember the specifics, but that is one of the few times a game punishes the player for not looking around and interacting with the environment enough.
You have to go to the room on the right and disable the electricity that's powering the flooded room before going through the main door. The cutscene will be different and the guard won't be in it.
You can use the combo moves at the same distance you can punch you don't need to run up to them

i highly suggest the inverted takedowns when you are on a gargoyles its a quick way to get rid of an enemy
I went back and replayed this and City cause of this and my lord there’s so much I can’t wait for you to react to. Also if you get the chance get the inverted takedown in upgrades, makes stealth easier (and more fun)

I’ve been playing this game a month after its release and I just did the math on how many times I’ve beaten this game and it’s roughly over 400 times
In Upgrades You Can Buy A Upgrade Called Inverted Takedowns Which Allows You To Hang On Gargoyles And Takedown Henchmen.
Hey man you should upgrade your stuff you got the XP to upgrade the batsuit and also be able to do inverted takedowns and such, it’ll make the game a lot easier, especially stealth
4:30 was probably the scariest part of the game for me
Here’s a tip Batman essentially has infinite combos all u have to do is use the dodge and bounce around and hit all enemies this will make any fight seem like a cakewalk and practically have no challenge
Now that is quality playthrough! I love the react aspect of it. Nice to see someone discover this masterpiece. Hope you will go all the way through Asylum, City and Knight (yup it's a trilogy).

Were you not aware you could do takedowns from the gargoyles? You didn't need to drop down each time. I cleared the garden section by swinging from gargoyle to gargoyle, doing upside-down takedowns, never dropping from them.
he put most of his skill points into combat for some reason, as seen by the fact he has no armor, no inverted takedown, and like none of the extra unlockable gadgets
You need to keep your combo up. Spamming X and Y will ruin your freeflow, avoid doing ground takedowns all the time if you can and be strategic with your strikes and counters, then when your conbo builds up use your B+Y takedown. They will go down naturally. The higher your combo the more damage you'll do (usually) Also please upgrade batman's health lol. No hate, just tryna help you out as an Arkham Vet. Loving the series

In stealth missions, it is a good idea to knock someone out and spray the explosive gel on the floor, when everyone comes to look at the body you detonate it. While everyone is on the ground you can finish 2 and make a quick escape.

Just a heads up if u throw a batarang to a thugs head and do a ground takedown it will be silent like a silent takedown but the ground takedown is only silent in Arkham asylum not the rest of the games
