Silent Rage: From Slasher Tropes To Chuck Norris

- I remember seeing the Chuck Norris joke book in a Barnes and Noble store and leafing through it only to find a bunch of absolutely absurd and comically over the top things that Chuck Norris could and would do to you or what he kept behind his beard. Norris ended up with a couple of horror movies in his credits. Hellbound, which I’m still undecided on if I want to cover or not, and today’s movie, Silent Rage was a fun flick to revisit.

If you're looking for another Norris vs. serial killer flick then try Canon's, The Hero and the Terror (1988).
Bonus points for Billy Drago not playing a bad guy!
Hero and the terror scared the hell out of me when I was younger 😂 I think I watched it randomly on TBS.
Lone Wolf McQuade and Code of Silence are easily his two best films.
Yes!
I was on the set of "Missing in Action 3" and "Walker" was my mom's favorite action series. When I saw "Silent Rage" a dream came true with two of my favorite genre's combining. What an easy pitch... "Norris meets Myers". Can't wait to hear about "The Entity". I also used to work with Barry Taft.
He was not only a "class A Fighter" He was the international Champion for 7 years, I believe the first American to accomplish a win at that level. He fought semi and full contact throughout a career where the best fighters were scared to step into the ring with him. He trained in multiple styles, to include Karate, BJJ, and others. He excelled in all of them. Finally he created his own style, with the aim of making Karate useable in real life situations. Finally he started several charity organizations aimed to get Children off the streets and away from drug riddled families through Karate. No, he was not a "Class A Fighter," rather he was a "Class A Man!" Something we are missing today!
Fuck yeah dude
Chuck Norris lost his virginity before his father 🤘
I can remember the first time I watched Silent Rage. It was 1983 and I was in the 3rd grade when it premiered on Cinemax. I ran all the way home from little league practice just to watch it, angry at my mother for making me go to stupid baseball practice in the first place with a new Chuck Norris movie coming on cable!! What the hell was she thinking?!?! Being nine years old, Silent Rage scared the crap out of me! It did for years. I loved Chuck Norris as a kid and this film is among his best. I only wish the girlfriend and the deputy weren't so stupid that they weigh down the overall fun of the picture. That said, Silent Rage is a 3 out of 4 star film. Not as great as Lone Wolf McQuade or An Eye For an Eye, but right up there with A Force of One and Forced Vengeance.
Definitely my favorite Chuck Norris flick. Classic 80s Sci-Fi/Horror.
Thanks...Funny, later I realized this was a remake of "the indestructible man" with lon Chaney jr....right down to the resurrected killer being mute! ❤
This is my favorite Chuck Norris film- A deft blend of 80's style action and slasher horror.
“No weesing the juice!”
Thank you
That line and “ don’t tax my gig so hardcore, cruster” are the best from Encino Man.
Nothing to do with Silent Rage
@@Tyler45nilbog I know. There were a couple of scenes in the opening montage. That’s all.
I have always enjoyed Silent Rage, though.
This movie is among my guilty pleasures Git the DVD years ago I would like to see a modern remake.
This movie was just Chuck Norris vs a clawless Logan (aka "Wolverine")...
Freakin' PRICELESS!! 👍💯
Silent Rage scared the hell out of me when I watched it as a kid
This movie scared me as a kid..but man i love it! And pretty much everything chuck did is gold!
Movie was creepy AF, Libby steals this movie, and that soundtrack brings that atmosphere, I love this film.
I've only seen the Rifftrax of this and it was a blast. Funny as hell.
I was a kid when chuck came out with all his action movies
I loved em all
Then my mom took me to see Silent rage. Scared the shit out of me. The opening scene where the killer axes 🪓 a couple people ruined me!!!
And then he couldn’t Die!!!!! 😮
He was the world middleweight karate champion for six years
I grew up watching this bc my Dad loved it. A sequel would've been awesome bc John Kirby could've been zombie John Kirby at the end. He was trapped in the well to live forever. Still waiting for the sequel 😢
My mother took me with her to see this when I was a kid.... Dude, the nightmares.... LOL Love these flicks today, but was not ready at age 7.
Can’t wait for the hero and the terror vid. I heard it you watch Hellbound, Chuck Norris drags you down to hell.
I'm remember watching this film at my grandma's house a year ago great i saw this film thank you Joblo for this video this is one of my favorite Chuck Norris films alongside Invasion U.S.A also a Japanese import VHS copy of Buckaroo Banzai does it make this film an Anime that would be so awesome.

It's a fun movie on its own. And Rifftrax did a great riffing of it as well.
This channel is officially the ish now. "Doc I'm losing it" 😂. I like how he gave him an attitude adjustment in the end. I own it on vhs and idgaf.
My favorite Chuck movie!
Chucks love interest plays Angie in the sopranos.
Great review. Waiting for the Hellbound one! ;)
You do know the Boogeyman checks in the closet and under the bed for.....Chuck Norris!!🤣🤣
I watched this late one night on broadcast TV when I was about 13 years old. Chuck Norris in an action/horror, pretty damn cool.
Bring on Hellbound!
"MEAT GROUP!"
Always loved this movie. For obvious reasons. And yes, that's my real name.
This John Kirby kind of looks like The White House's John Kirby, same function too...
Chuck Norris studied tang soo do
In Korea
According to onlookers, he often sparred with Bruce Lee to a stand still
I was like 6 when I saw this film and oh boy...
I think this was my first Chuck Norris film, I loved it, though thinking the soundtrack was a little creepy.
Rifftrax riffs this
Check out Hero and the Terror
So, it looks like the super killer is the victim in this film.
Good video, thank you.
Saw this in the cinema 🎦
0:51 Prove it.
one of my mom’s shitty boyfriends took me and my teenage uncle to see this in the theater.
