I don't know why, but the first time I listened to this song, I had this mental image of the characters in their music studio, Milo being the one whistling and playing the guitar, trying to find tunes for new songs, when Simon asks him to repeat a certain bit, and that's where he starts to sing his feelings out. Then, I remembered how there's been a couple allusions to Simon wanting to put an end to his days in some interviews, and all this led me to interpret this song as somewhat of an improvised s*cide note from Simon, although, thankfully, we know he didn't follow through. My vision of the song may seem odd, and probably wasn't what Jay and James intended, but that's just how I feel about it really. On a brighter note, I always wondered if this was originally some sort of demo for Strange Disease, with the title drop at the end.
