I love this thing. I have sold a lot of them with no returns yet. They had some glitches in the beginning but they have it worked out. The Outback inverter we sold is now being made in India, no longer in the US. Bout 3 months ago they moved to India and raised their prices.
Its great when companies build all these designs into their inverters. not only on wheels but also a inverter to bolt down. Do not know what to say Jeff, JUST "Another Winner" Great product!
Thanks Jeff I really like your videos and really appreciate you. I havent tried any solar arrays yet but you really opened my eyes in regards to reconizing whats going on around me when it comes down to solar technology and equipment. Much love brother and keep doing these videoes.
WOW that looks nice Pity they don't have them in Australia Jeff I would have Loved to hook one up to my Home and test the crap out of it. I love Low Frequency Inverters and testing them. Keep well Jeff
It weighs about 100 pounds. It ships world wide. I don't know why it's just for solar. If it were for wind it would need a dump load or some place to connect a dump load. You would need to use a separate charge controller for your turbine. Got to get over to your channel Ian and see what you have been up to.
Good idea putting it on wheels at that weight. Mind you image the damage it could do in air freight if it came loose it would shoot out the back of the plane.Lol Looks a great inverter. Last 6 videos have been on a custom Vawt. I could see it working well in the middle of lake placid come and check them out.
It's nice that they give you a plate to bolt it down with but I still think that instead of those tiny wheels to make it semi portable they should have gone with some heavy duty lifting handles so two people could lift it into place safely. A dolly is better suited to moving something that heavy around. Perhaps as a dealer you could make the suggestion? Having said that it does look like a real solid inverter and I am glad you are carrying it. Best of luck to you brother.
Interesting view... I'm looking into working up a system that will combine both solar and wind turbines. The AIMS 6000 looks to be useful for a system to feed into the grid as well as operate off grid using the battery bank if the grid power experiences a black out. GREAT VIDEOS and very useful information... THANKS JEFF and of course HAPPY NEW YEAR (early)...
Hey Jeff, I just got a tool shed and wanted to install some lights in it so I can work on my motorcycle in it. I'd like for it to be off the grid and was thinking I'd go with solar, but I'm not sure what all I'd need for such a small shed. I'd like to go with LED lights and something for heat, like a little space heater or something. The shed is roughly 6'x'6x8. I'm in Michigan, so it does get cold and snow.
I can see reducing a power bill quite a bit. 6 kw could run my entire house, including A/C , as long as everything isn't turned on at the same time. Using an Automatic Transfer Switch or even a simple Manual Thrown Knife Switch, I could use solar anytime the sun is shining and transfer back to grid power when it's cloudy. Haven't done the math yet, but this set up would probably pay for itself in three or four years even using grid power all winter.
Do you all still have in stock the old style box case type like this one before the change over to the new style long version? That would work perfect for my install at the house I am going to pick back up on in a couple weeks.
Wow, pretty nice inverter there Jeff, what kind of heat does it produce during normal operating cycles? Does it need any special clearences so it will not over heat?
That is sure one nice inverter. with 240v and 50hz good for us in Europe too. Is there a reason its just for solar. $ 1900.00 i thought it would cost 3 times that for its size. big thumbs up!
the manual says that the input ac voltage should should be wired to the inverter with out the neutral wire, just l1 and l2 and ground. however most USA panels have the ground and neutral bonded at main panel so does this have an effect on input to output? then with a generator would we connect l1 and l2 and ground pin? john
so after listening to your presentation, I'm getting that I wouldn't need a separate charge controller or inverter and it'll still give me 220vac service to operate my central air unit and well pump, correct? However what I wasn't able to get a model # for this unit...?
Deer cabin is totally off grid. Want to Hook up Solar and Wind Turbine system. Want to keep it simple and easy to use for many different people to use without screwing it up, Have batteries and a Harbor freight 3 panel solar panel, need a good charge controller inverter or separate control/inverter. Any suggestion ? Beside s throwing out those H F panels and buying some better one from you LOL.
How would this work with a 200 amp main breaker in my house? or does that even matter ? I`m new to solar and wind power, trying to learn as much as I can. Thanks all help welcome.
OK what's the price point for it I need run different motors well pump pool pump and sump pump alone with refrigerator and two freezers lights the normal house shit or is best for like emergency stuff
A modern tv uses about 40watts a fridge freezer about 150 watts periodically, led bulbs 12 watts each. Phones, laptop chargers and things like that 10 watts periodically. Considering you dont run lights during the day and your tv is off when you sleep. Do you realy need 6000 watts.
+thra5herxb12s Washing machines, clothes dryers, electric space heaters, AC units etc use a lot of electricity. Your furnace, electric, gas runs alot in the winter.
There's your problem. You use far too much electricity. Dump the electric heater and the clothes dryer and ac. and you wont need to spend so much on a panel system. Although it's true this big system wont make much more than a few hundred watts in mid winter anyway. Unless it works like no other system out there, which I suspect it probably does.
You should be clear that this inverter is not for grid tie. You said that you might want to think about AIMS instead of an Outback, you mean Outback or Magnum Energy. Also the Outback is also gridtie, something the AIMS is not. Also you are not saying where the product is built, remember the both the Outback and Magnum are built in the USA (well mostly for the Outback).
The Outback is MADE in India now. Also the SMA is now made in China. Magnum ? Haven't checked lately on them. I sell the Outbacks. The Aims cost far less then the other 2 and is made in Taiwan using a lot of German parts. Outback actually raised their price after they went to India. Outback has become to expensive for what it it.
MissouriWindandSolar Jeff - Please contact OutBack before stating that our inverters are made in India. The vast majority of our inverters are Made in Bellingham, Washington USA. Some strategic inverters and charge controllers are made in India. Also, some of the OutBack inverters are 120 only, again however, you are only telling half the story. We have inverters that are 120/240 as well. Please sell your product on their own merit rather than trying to sell them by misinforming customers about your competitors products.
I truly believe America been on the wrong electrical track for a long time...There is no reason why we are doing 120 volts, and doing a split load center! We need to switch to a 220 v only Nation, all are lines running from the power panel would handle twice the power! Need only two not three lines from road! There would be saving everywhere...

Now that is a nice inverter. Thanks for sharing.

Hello Theo.
It is a nice inverter, they also have a 12 k coming out soon.

The wheels come off and there is a plate that replaces them so you can bolt it down.
It also takes 2 Outbacks to make 240 volts, It takes one Aims to make 240 volts.
Johnny that looks like a winner mate :)
Another wonderful video Jeff.

Hey Jeff, that's seems like a great inverter. I'm shopping for an inverter and I think this might fit the bill. Thanks for the info, great video!
Nice piece of equipment.
Do you all still have in stock the old style box case type like this one before the change over to the new style long version? That would work perfect for my install at the house I am going to pick back up on in a couple weeks.
+7 TRUMPETS PREPPER in 24volt
Thanks Jeff for the info,

very cool. Something I could use for sure.

It's really giving Outback a run for their money. This is 6 k for $1900.00 the Outback 3500 watts for $1900.00
jeff, that is really nice for the cost.
You just made my decision harder jeff I don't know if I want to go with that now or with what I have can you stack two of those
That doesn't really matter. 6 K would run a normal house hold.
Not much. Yes it needs ventilation at the front and rear.
Yeah, it's been kicking Outbacks butt. Twice the power for half the price. And it's not a cheap made unit.

with the exception of power output how does it compare to the magnum or schnieder inverter chargers?

It weighs about 100 pounds. It's portable.
Looks nice but what's with the skateboard wheels?
so it has been more then 4 years since your introduce this inverter, how this inverter is doing
It has a floating ground...what kind of problem will this cause...thanks
i want to power my pool off grid. will this thing do that? i have a pentair intelliflo pump. the specs on the pump say 220 volt 3.2kwh
about $1900.00
Nice Equipment
Do you teach classes or help with certification? If so please let me know.
I will do that
The store link is to a 1000 watt unit? NOT a 6k?? Could I get a link to THIS model?
3000spg
OK what's the price point for it I need run different motors well pump pool pump and sump pump alone with refrigerator and two freezers lights the normal house shit or is best for like emergency stuff
Cool,LOL
Jeff
Why only a one year warranty? "Mad for decades of use" Just curious
oh man thats nice............
I have an aims inverter that powers on but doesn't work. Do you guys work on them?
+T Sagely No we don't work on them. You can contact Aims and send it to them..

+Carlos Oliva Carlos, go to the website and check on current prices. The link is under the video.
Why did you delete the comment?

Outback gear is rubbish. I have a charger that went bang only after 4 hours use. Just Over priced under powered Junk. :) keep well Jeff

The cost of transition would be too high. It is just like the metric system. America is set in its ways.
