    I discovered vertical tillage this winter and was delighted with how the practice aids in the rapid break down of soybean surface residue. nice video, very nice tractor and tool.

      thanks, a few farms tried some vertical tillage tools this last fall but man, they're expensive!

    Looks good! Yes they need speed we usually pull soil finishers around 7 mph

      Jake Ziegler good into. I'm used to pulling the digger around 4.5-5.5 so this'll be a change

    ya you could see it needs the speed.that at first made me cring looked like it was going to ball the the stubble up then he went deeper and sped up then you could see how nice that is laying the soil. that tractor has some power. great video thanks for showing it.want to see more of the monster working the fields.

      Howard Younger ya doesn't help the fields we're wet. It will go through it much better when the fields and trash are dry.

    At first it looked like the harrow on back was just going to drag the trash, but as he went it rolled it out nice. As it gets drier and with a little more ground speed it should do a real nice job.

      ya thats just it, as the disks went in more, the trash got chewed up and went through the harrow nice. Can't wait to use it at full speed in good conditions

    What year is that tractor and how many gallons of diesel per hour does it use

    • @BornToFarm101MN
      @BornToFarm101MN  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Id have to look at the serial plate on the tractor to see what year it is, can't remember. I'll have to pay attention to how much fuel it uses this year.

    Disk blades need to be put in little deeper and you should be pulling finisher at 7mph easily. We got 45"9" finisher with 5 bar lift harrow and then a 8 bar makfarline harrow behind that, pulling with 9560R at 8mph easy.
    So kick it up to 7mph , no problem.

      Ya the depth control was holding us back; figured out how to set it down a few notches. Should work great. That's quite a bit bigger tractor.

      Yeah, but our first year with that finisher we pulled it with a JD 9400 and it pulled it at 8 mph also.

      JGM excellent. I don't foresee any problems unless we get into serious mud

    Very good, but do not have to sink more to unpack the soil?

      We do deeper tillage after harvest. We only go 3-6 inches deep in the spring
